  1. I am getting a new set of tyres and I want to know how to calculate the difference they will make to my speedo. The standard tyres are 65 profile on 14 inch rims. I will be getting 45 profile on 14 inch rims. so the Radius will go from 177.8mm + 65mm = 242.8mm to 177.8mm+45mm = 222.8mm if my calculation is correct this means when the speedo reads 100KMPH I will actually be doing 91.8 KMPH Does that sound correct?
  2. guys here is a youtube overview of a similar conversion.
  3. The nationals are only every second year...no nationals in 2010. But you probably weren't aiming for that.
  4. There is no way they can win. The 2009 event was made totally open with no focus on Zeds. We received complaints from Zed owners saying it was not focused enough and still received compaints from other nissan and datsun owners saying it was Zed focused.
  5. went pickin up them bitches
  6. Looks like they are sticking to their guns and focusing on zeds. I'm not criticising, unfortunatly they will get complaints either way.
  7. outside the pizza box??? did the neihbour's dog poop the keys out? get the bleach ready or were they in the car....maybe a would be theif was preparing to take the car but decided not to?
  8. Option 1 are brilliant. They have just quoted me for road tyres as well. $30 per tyre saving
  9. I personally wouldn't try to add a plate. It might cause more confusion and make it seem like you are trying to pull the wool over their eyes. Plus plates with the details to match your car will be dificult to find as they didn't exist pre 1971.
  10. Compliance plates were phased in during 1971. Missing plates should not be too much issue. You just need evidence the car has been registered in Aus previously (not imported second hand). I had exactly the same scenario with my 240z.
  11. Sorry if this has been posted before: 09 GTR side by side with 240z at Laguna Seca
  12. If all else fails I have an L28 flywheel. I actually want to keep it for myself but if you can't find a cheaper one I would sell it for $120.
  13. Not bad on road tyres. Well done
  14. It seems that most newer Zed owners either don't know about the clubs, runs, forums etc or they don't see the value. Maybe they have less need to know how to fix / modify their cars. All I know is in my 5 year involvement in the QLD club I could count the new zeds on one hand.....Nice car by the way. Come out to the "come try" motorkhana on Nov 22nd. It would be great to see what a 250z can do
  15. I haven't seen them but I suspect the lack of holes is to allow for those that want the clean look without the rubber. It is easier to drill holes than to fill them in, but yes I know the drilling will eventually cause rust
  16. Mate, be careful. Be sure they pack it really really well. Thats the sort of part that would break very easily. I can't even imagine how to pack it to ensure it stays intact.
  17. What were the extra bits either side of the diff mount anyway?
  18. He he, it seems like you always want something I have right before a motorkhana. I have one you can have. I can bring it to Willowbank on Sunday if that suits you.
  19. You want to buy his cancer for $50? hmmm I have a heap I cut out of my car you can have for $20 plus postage
  20. My brakes were fine, until I decided it was time to bleed them. Now the peddle doesn't seem to return as far and the brakes are slightly engaged while I am driving. Even when I reach down with my hand I can't pull the peddle back to its normal possition. I thought it was just needing more bleeding but I have now bled them multiple times but can't get it to work properly. Any suggestions?
  21. Depending how much worse you either weld patches over the rust or cut out the entire floor and wled in new floors. It can certainly be saved if thats the only area.
  22. My brother in law was visiting from the USA. I loaned him my trailer so he could take a heap of stuff camping.....my stuff of course.....including my two man kyak. I was at work the day he left so I didn't see him set it up. a couple of weeks later I get a call one night. The trailer had come lose and luckily went off the side of the road (rather than across into oncoming traffic). I could understand on the phone how it cam lose but I gave up and decided I would see for myself. I drove the 90 minutes north to where they were. Somehow the trailer and contents were almost untouched. He had attached the socket over the ball but then just wrapped the safety chain around the ball. Somehow the nut on the ball went missing allowing the ball and safety chain to pop straight out. Luckily his vehicle was only capable of 80KMPH. The funniest bit is I hooked it on to my car to bring it home and started driving for about 15 minutes before I thought to myself I let him connect the safety chain.... I immediatly stopped and checked to find he had done exactly the same thing again.

    Noob Question

You just need to be careful that the gasket covers the injector grooves. If not you will get an air leak. But this is an unlikely scenario.
  24. Anybody know where I can get a replacement crown and pinion for an R180? Or a whole R180 I currently have a 4.6 ratio but I'd prefer a 4.44 or similar (I need longer legs)
  25. Thats more like an oops oops ooops moment.
