I have chosen to hand deliver a front spoiler to Neuby in Toowoomba on Saturday morning. I am thinking of leaving Brisbane's northside around 8am. I am using this as an excuse for a day trip and was wondering if anyone wants to make a run out of it?

I am still confused. By my definition "loom" refers to all the wiring in the car (all the way to the tail lights). But by the way you have used the word "just" I assume you are only talking about the portion of the loom between the ECU and injectors and throttle body. No problem if my defintion is wrong. If you are only after the bit between the ECU and injectors then Zedback may be able to help??? If he still has the one I gave him. If you are after the whole lot you'll need to talk to someone wrecking a car and it would take some efffort to remove all that wire.

I replaced down to the little rubber joint in the engine bay. The length was identical between the 240z and 280zx. No photos unfortunatly. You can actually bolt it straight in with no mods if you are willing to live with 2 bolts instead of 4. After all they only hold the column up off your knees. I guess the only risk is in an accident is 2 bolts enough to stop the column / steering wheel pushing your chest through your backside. But on the positive side the 280 column has a better collapse feature than the 240 column.

from memory the angle was the same as the 240 but I did have to make an adaptor (flat steel plate) because the bolt holes did not line up. The bolt holes for the 240 were closer to the firewall.

Are you just after the EFI component of the loom or the entire car?

Reasonably scratch free. $40 I have a medium size whale tail spoiler. Ready to paint and attach. $100

Well I had one of those moments yesterday. Sitting at the lights just 500 meters from home a woman in a van hit me from behind in the 280zx. While sitting in the car it seemed like a fair hit and I was expecting the worse. When I checked it out though it seems like minimal damage. There is no panal damage. The bumper has a mark where her bull bar hit me and the bar has been pushed in about 10mm. I think I just need to straighen or replace the brackets behind the bumper and respray the bumper skin. I haven't got time to do it though. I will wait until after Easter.

Yeah, I agree. $1900 just for the sills?? doesn't sound right. Are you sure you didn't ask them to include some more work? I had the whole front half of my 280zx done for $500..........until the roo decided to customise it for me 3 months later.

Not sure I agree with limiting finance. That just means they would drive a heap of junk and not care if they crash it. I totally agree with the education point. To take that one step further I think there should be efforts to make things like track days and skid pans accessible. I think a lot of younger people would a) learn how to handle a car quicker than driving at road pace for 5 years b) for some it would reduce the urge to speed as it gets out of the system on the track (Yes I know there is an element that are encouraged to speed because they think they are now race drivers. But I think they are the minority)

I am hoping to add two rear tow points to my 240z in preparation for Bathurst in Easter. The only point which I can see it is practical to attach the tow point is to remove the rear bumper and bolt the bumper over the top. I am thinking of some rather thick flat steel plate with some reinforcing to stop it bending. Extending the plate about 50 - 75 mm below the bumper and then bolting a thick U shaped shackel on to the plate at right angles to the plate (pointing back away from the car). I am also planning to weld another U on the bottom of the plate pointing to the ground for securing the car while being towed. 1. How thick should the plate be (7.5 mm?) 2. Are there any better suggestions? (Photos would be great)

Some of you might already know I have a half finished project car. It is a 280zx series 2 with a VH45 (infinity V8) attached to a Supra 6 speed box. I am wanting to get some momentum again. One of the challenges is the height of the engine. It protrudes through the bonnet by about 1 inch. A friend of mine told me there are kits for Commodores to allow larger engines under the hood. They use a spacer between the front crossmember and the chassis rails. I was going to modify a bonnet to fit the engine. But I would much much much rather keep the car looking stock (to be a sleeper) I am just wondering: 1.Does anyone know a workshop that will make them? 2.What sort of space can I introduce before they would become unstable/weak? 3.Any other suggestions or comments are also welcome. WOOOOOO!!!!! Its a slippery slope. What you and I call hooning may be interpretted differently by a police officer or court. There is no clear definition of hooning. They did that on purpose so they an pull it out when ever they feel like it. I have nightmares about being pulled over for accelerating from a light and having my zed crushed
