  1. Come with me to Bathurst over Easter!!!! I have a spare seat in the cruiser and I can always do with a pit crew
  2. Is the button pushing in at all. 1. If it does not push in at all, then there is either something wrong with the lock (like maybe it is locked ) or there is something foreign jammed in the way. 2. If it pushes in with little or no resistance then the armature of the button may be missing the latch. 3. If it pushes and seems to have the proper resistance, then it is more likely to be a problem with the latch. If it is scenario 1 try Zedman240's suggestions. If it is scenario 2 also try Zedman240's suggestions. If it is scenario 3 try reverendzed's. But before you do that try a bit of exra force while holding the button in. Good luck
  3. Sharing one account? Be careful there are all sorts of viruses around
  4. I tend to agree. The only exception is that I compete in motorkhanas and good power steering is an advantage there. Otherwise I have no power steering on my S30 and it is fine for track work and driving on the street.....But then again I have reasonable upper body strength. I guess there are people out there built like one of those inflatable men you see promoting car yards etc
  5. do you know if they are electric from end to end or just an electric pump driving a hydraulic rack?
  6. hmmm I am very interested in this topic. I have the standard power steering rack in my white 280zx. But I don't have space to mount a pump on the V8. So I have been considering the electric option. This would allow me to mount it anywhere I can find space. Stay clear of the GM products though. Apparently they are the first item to implode on the Corsers and Astras etc. Mazda run one as well (2s and 3s I think) so I would opt of one of these but they are around $600 just for the pump
  7. Mine was a Sydney Zed (the 240z). Last registered in Syd in 1988.
  8. Sounds like you are right to go then
  9. I have no idea what you mean??? There is no way that spoiler would fit the boot. It is a customer modification of a BRE front spoiler with an extended front lip. I modified it myself so I can't imagine how it could be used on the boot. I do have a mini whale tail if anyone wants to buy it?
  10. what are the halfshafts from?
  11. Want to make your Zed environmentaly friendly? Here is one zed that is a real tree hugger: http://media.photobucket.com/image/datsun%20240z/pleiner87/Datsun/100_3648.jpg?o=253
  12. autos had the R180 with universal joints. Manuals got the R200 with CVs
  13. I assumed you were talking about the driveshaft from the gearbox to the diff? If you are talking about the two half shafts (out to the wheels) it is a different story as the splines will be different.
  14. Yes it will fit. While you have both diffs out of the car just check that the new diff has the same type of flange as the old one. Worse case scenario you might need to unbolt them and swap the flanges over. Other than that you will be OK.
  15. I think it is a good target. I would not rule out autos that don't have air. Both of these can be changed quite easily if you find a decent car worth the investment. In other words if you find an auto without air for $2000 under your limit and the rest of the car is solid then it is worth buying the car and converting it. Good luck with it.

    Spotted Brisbane

Could be the same one. Its flares looked out of place because the wheels and tyres did not fill out the gap.

    Spotted Brisbane

I spotted a 260z 2+2 this morning. It was bright green and has flares, front spoiler and rear spoiler all painted to match the car. It was travelling south along Lutwych road at about 8am.

    new zed new cruse

Went to natural bridge a few months back. There is a great BBQ area there, and a running stream if it happens to be hot. The roads are quite enjoyable too.
  19. Thanks, Yes I will add some additional bolts. It was ok as it is at 200Km round Lakeside, but a couple of extra bolts won't hurt.
  20. I agree, also the wave is more pronounced on the forum because the greater majority of us already have our toys. Have you listed the car elsewhere? I do think that price is quite appropriate if the description is accurate.
  21. OUCH!!!!! Zed roll over of an unusual nature: The guy thought the car was scrap and was going to take it away in his trailer.....well you watch and see the rest. Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qSXP47OzyI Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F7a15ZLWPo
  22. It is planned for each year but there is always the risk it might be cancelled like Wheels on Wide Bay. Here are the latest pics of my car. It now has the new spoiler on the front. Still some more prep to come for Bathurst.

    new zed new cruse

Not for me sorry. Too far on the other side of town. If you have a run on a weekend I would consider it. Good to hear you have the car running.
  24. That would be very cool. Let us know how it turns out.
