  1. Hi, Im chasing some front shockies to suit a 280zx 1983 shocks only no strut or spring needed. thanks
  2. g'day! i realise this is an anchient post but.. does anyone know what "zg style" fender flares would fit a 1983 280zx targa? i cant seem to find anywhere that makes falres for the 280zx.. there are alot more options when it comes to 240z and 260z it seems. Please help! all i want is 10 inch wide rubber! is that so much to ask!? thanks
  3. sorry i didnt take any pictures. that would have been a good idea though. any questions about it just post them up and ide be happy to help
  4. Hi all, I thought ide mention this as it gave me ALOT of greif! swapping a R180 deff with a R200 in your 280zx (auto shell) 1983. using both of the R200 half shafts the diff will shutter. these shafts are slightly too long, even though they will bolt up snugg to the hubs.. i found as soon as you get power down and the car starts squatting at the rear, i got a terrible shutter. after pulling the diff out 4 or 5 times, long story short i took the RIGHT hand r180 shaft and seperated it from the spline at the CV joint and then had the r200 spline put onto the r180 shaft. after bolting it all back up the diff ran nice with no shutter what so ever
  5. Hi Guys, appologys if this should be posted in a particular existing post. I am looking for a full set of ZG Flares to suit 280zx 1983 targa. Any information would be appreciated. is it possible to addapt 240/260z flares to fit a 280zx? only reason i ask is it seems alot easyer to find flares to suit these modles. cheers
  6. yeap thats my car i fitted the r200 with the shafts that belong to the r200... the r180 shafts dont match the spline of the 200 so thats why im not useing them.
  7. im useing the r200 shafts. they are slightly longer then the r180 shafts do you think this is the problem?
  8. Hi guys. i have a rb converted nissan 280zx targa (1982) origionaly the car was an auto. so it came out with the r180 diff. i found an r200 with half shafts. and converted the lot over. as i remmember the half shafts were slightly longer then the r180 shafts , but none the less i mannaged to squeese them in anyway. it all bolted up nice and snugg, but unfortunatly when i drove it, the rear end had a verry bad shutter when it was under load. so now i am in the prosess of pulling it all back out again.. would anyone have an idea about why this is happening ? are the halfshafts too long? what can i do about it?
  9. do they fit the 280z at all?
  10. how can i find the differance between clutch type and viscous?
  11. ill check the ratio when i get home from work and post it up. not sure what halfshafts they are. but its out of a 1982 auto 280zx. ive driven on it. no clunks or rattles. its in good condition. ill give more details soon
  12. ive got an r180 lsd for sale with shafts not sure about the ratio but think its somewhere neer 3.5:1 $400
  13. hey mate did that kit come with an immobleizer?
  14. gday greg. ahh i think im going to stay away from standerd seats. the stock 280 seats dont hold you in too well. specialy not the leather. maybe seats out of an s13 or something would go well in the car as long as they fit width wise
