  1. Added some photos to the original post and will attach some on to this one. Also put down a figure of $12,500 neg, again don't really know the reality of said figure. As a vaguely related but derailing factor, my new home come August will be not so far from these folks http://www.rockyauto.co.jp/
  2. I'll edit the subject line just for you haha I'll add pics as soon as I can tomorrow - but points are very well taken, hopefully the pics will give a clear enough indication of condition. Valuation is harder for me though to work out a justifiable figure - obviously I'm going to be down on money, I accepted that when I started the project, accepted there would be costs to leaving the country once, just didn't expect to be leaving a second time! Anyone with a big heart and a bigger garage out there in Brisbane? haha
  3. luvemfast - There was a fair bit of info to go in the subject line and BNE is the airport for Brisbane International, also generally used on forums to indicate Brisbane, the more you know dat2kman - true, I'll do my best to start a petition with the mods to make a special forum just for me rather than clog up the for sale forum! Of course not giving up the vehicle and having a wad of cash dumped into my lap to justify holding on to would be preferable... Retro z - To be honest I haven't thought strongly about it... I guess the current insurance cover on it values the car at $16,500 in current state - Given the unfinished factor and the time constraints on me leaving the country though, I guess I'm fighting an uphill battle (weighing it against putting it in storage costs), so a couple/several of G's under the $16,500? NFI how realistic that is.
  4. Well it has been a long time since I've used these forums and this is a horrible way to come back. Simple details: Model: 1976 260z 2+2 Location: Brisbane Price: $12,500 - negotiable, not sure on the reality of this figure Current condition: 1JZGTE from 1994 JZX90 chaser (reported Kms 134,000 on halfcut) - Engineering done/plated A341E Automatic gearbox 16" Rota RBs Everything else pretty much standard - along the way tie rods replaced, bushings replaced, springs and shocks replaced, swaybars replaced Contact: Reply here/pm is fine Quick history - I've had this car since 2004, over time problems mounted up and I was young/dumb enough to start a project. Very much with the intentions of starting a bit rat-rod and cleaning up along the way - mostly done as fun and fiddling when I had too much money and no responsibility. 2010 came around and my then girlfriend got a job offer in Japan that we couldn't really refuse - stored the car and got friends/family to keep it turned over/take it around the block occasionally to keep things okay. Returned to Brisbane in late 2012 and history has repeated itself, except I'm the one with the job offer - so me and my fiance are departing again come August. Keeping it stored again for what may be 3-4 years is just doing my brain in, so here I am. Effectively - the car can drive from point a to point b - should it be driven? Not yet Rust is creeping up in places (typically), and plenty of other indicators of an unfinished project. Frankly I'm tempted to ask around with my mates/just cough up and pay for storage this time around and hold on to the car - but I've got to be a bit more realistic and mature this time around and at least consider my options. Just been sitting around mulling this over this afternoon and it is already dark - will take some photos of the car tomorrow and add it to this post. The short of it is that I'd love for someone who is keen to treat this car better than I have in the past 3 years to have a chance at it If someone ends up wanting to take it and I'm not making too much of a loss on what I've invested, will of course throw in as many goodies as they want (original rims, original AM radio around here somewhere, parts harvested from the Chaser halfcut etc) Will only be putting this EOI on this forum Cleaned up first post a little
  5. believe these are now sold pending inspection and payment!
  6. Picked these up off neuby a bit ago - have decided eventually not to run with them on my 260 2+2 asking $220 - located in west side of brisbane probably will also be throwing up more items once I go through stuff tomorrow so I may create another thread/update this title
  7. Sorted it pictures/videos/etc soon in a project thread
  8. sorry, should have noted - yes to both - heh
  9. I figure its worth throwing the question out here - though it has been asked on other forums as well and if I can't really get a solution then a workshop can handle it Current situation: I have a 1JZ-GTE mated to a A341E gearbox sitting in my 260 - Auto electrics are far from my forte and I've had a friend of a friend to do wiring that allows ignition etc - So I've got a car that idles and obviously the neutral start switch is at least sorted. so I was hoping to drive the car under her own power up the driveway this weekend (seemed appropriate considering this has been nothing short of resurrection) (sorry any religious types) - put the car into drive - nothing... effectively sat at neutral - same deal for all gears other than park - so I have a car recognising when it is in park and treating all other gears as neutral. Done what I feel are the utterly obvious things - mechanical linkage to shifter seems 100% and according to the dipstick fluid levels are totally fine. Anyone out there have a clue or suggestion what could be going on to cause this issue as vague as it is?
  10. If you're keen to wake up at 4-5am some weekday morning in two to three weeks, I can let you ride shotgun with me as I take the zed to an exhaust shop

    Classic Japanese

Wonder if I can make it from inner city brisbane out to banyo without an exhaust on.... May just come along for a look-see rather than try to bring the car
  12. Slowest project ever... Been meaning to make a proper post on it for quite a while now Going to give a placeholder just for the moment of tonight's action: Edit: Ah right, first post updated due to the info on no embeds
  13. Hi guys - just in the process of putting electrics back in my project car and realised I have absolutely no idea of the orientation/placement of the junction box under the dash - 76 260 2+2 model but I'm assuming it really isn't going to move around much between models. Aftermarket aircon + dash harness connections + through to engine bay and whatnot certainly makes it a hornet's nest of wires under there :/ Anyway if anyone has a photo or two or is able to go duck under their dash and take a photo of the wiring (particularly location and routing of wires to and from junction box) that'd be awesome - cheers
  14. I'm pretty much banking on this as far as being able to put up my project car and see if I can make a neat wad of cash on it due to a particularly cashed up kid... Lucky I'm also entirely happy keeping it in the event this doesn't happen
