  1. redline make the best of everything. also, when you order it from perth or where ever they are it gets here overnight. I rang up one afternoon 4-5pm and it was at my front door when I woke up at 9am the next day.
  2. Just back off they're mine
  3. i can't picture where these go? do you mean bonnet vents.
  4. how much for the webbers and manifold?
  5. so what l28 stuff did you have or are willing to part with??
  6. it that the one that keeps popping up every now and again and doesn't get sold.
  7. Wow that's big dollars for such a small surface area.
  8. nice work mate.
  9. is that because the rb30 dizzies spin in the opposite direction.
  10. I've also only got a couple of pieces of the front and the rear from mine. I'll be interested to see if you can find some.
  11. what about removing the black rubber bumpers on the chrome bumpers??
  12. I guess the biggest issue is the ignition. Zedman240 said something about an MSD ignition controller which I'm guessing uses the existing rb cas off the exhaust cam?
  13. well I have scored some rb26 itb's and a vac plate so regardless of what engine rb or L, if I go injected it'll probably end up those and trumpets
  14. I've been thinking long and hard over my annual leave lately and I'm still trying to decide what engine I'd like to have in my Z. Sure L series are original but why would you bother going to all the trouble to use a 2.8L block with an RB DOHC when there is the RB 25 and 30 block which bolt straight up. Or why would you shoehorn some merc dohc onto an L series block??? You arn't really keeping the original theme here, at least nissan RB's are the L series big brother. And how much power are you possibly achieving over a good L series head/cam combo. Not everyone can build a DOHC OS Giken like Benzed but what about a DOHC RB with tripple webbers??? Kind of the opposite of putting throttle bodies on an L series? It's kind of the poor mans OS DOHC . Oh so many options I'm so confused. What do you think Ben?
  15. probably less than those here who are qualified mechanics, yet have a look at us??
  16. Gas sheilded welds certainly look better straight after, but if all you're doing is welding in a floor pan and you don't mind cleaning it up with a flap disc (best invention the world!) than painting over it then surely a gasless would do the job providing you're getting the penetration req.
  17. Yeah xa1973 thats a 280zx part, I spose I could modify that one to look like the first pic.
  18. Hi again, just another quickie. When my Z arrived it was obvioulsy missing a few things which are hard to find originals of. What would you recommend I do to replace the fuel cap filler without being to cheap or gay? All I have to go by is the three mounting holes of what was there originally. I'm not really worried about needing a key to open the cap as I'll be rigging up a cabin mounted flap release as I've done if a few past cars that didn't originally have it. The throttle linkage was also missing but I stole a few bits off the 280's I had to get me closer. I'm guessing your Zed's have some sort of mount on the firewall for this part of the linkage. If so could someone pop up a close up pic so I can see if I can make one or if anyone has one off a wrecked car?? I was going to look at installing a throttle cable instead but I'm not sure how it would adapt into the foot pedal and existing linkage. Cheers
  19. Are some MIG's like this able to be converted to weld ally?
  20. So something like these would be ok? http://www.amanstoyshop.com.au/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=684 http://www.amanstoyshop.com.au/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=681 http://www.amanstoyshop.com.au/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=2127 Obvioulsy any money I save can go back into the Zed so I'm trying to be as cheap as possible here.
  21. what sort of headers?
  22. Did anyone read that article in Just Cars or Trading post where they replaced the floor pan by tech screwing it on with a 10mm overlap, then triming off the overlap while tacking it on and removing the screws as they went along. Basically did one thousand tacks in the end but it looked good and no doubt stayed straight without the extra heat.
