  1. Hey Loui, Don't scare her on the first run; you don't want her to hate the zed! Most important thing is to fix the fume issue if it has it...
  2. Geez, they don't make it easy with those sensors do they? Better than the X-Trail crank angle sensor; between the engine and gearbox with no access until you seperate the two! Like everyone,,can't wait till the chassis / engine are mated!
  3. Rob at the Z Factory is trying to off load a 77 2 seater that needs some parts (that I can help with) and its down to $1800. Its had a front hit but it has been repaired so panels will line up, but the repair is pretty ugly. It would make an excellent track car with just some extra $$ thrown at it.
  4. If it's still available, I can grab it...
  5. If you can wait about 10 hours, I can tell you exactly!
  6. Will that front caliper bracket cope with just those four M6 and one caliper bolt? Had that blue on my first 260Z; everyone was asking why did I choose that colour... coz you don't see it often enough!
  7. Great deal but just cashless! Koni's retail for about $550 a pair and the springs are not far off. My recent activities have left me pretty poor.. Unless you have 48 months interest free deals?
  8. All that's needed for certain information to get passed on to the wrong person is for a friend to mention it to another friend then gets over heard by someone else then for that individual to do some "Googling" to find out all that he/she needs. No matter how much you lock out of the forum, the scum of the earth will always find a way. Best thing you can do is secure all your prized possessions, (alarm, CCTV, insure etc) and as one smart teacher told me "C.Y.A......Cover Your A$$)
  9. Invest in a good set of multigrip pliers; they are the best in removing rounded philips screws if and when you have clear access.
  10. You couldn't have picked a better day for a drive... I spent the day cleaning the garage preparing for the move
  11. Best, cheapest, easiest way to upgrade the headlights is to go to a self serve wrecker and buy some H4 inserts of any car with the same 7" headlights. You pay around $5-8 each and try to find the newest ones you can. I bought some a while ago from a Volvo. They all fit as they are a standard mount. (3 rasied point around the rim). As for the rings, I have some in my shed..
  12. Wish I could do that while at work...just too busy twiddling my thumbs.. Good to hear Ash, I'll keep tabs on the project just in case you have to disrupt the work on the zed with your shop! No excuses for not having any parts!
  13. Pete, just have one of these programmed at your front gate; problem solved...he can't be reasoned with, can't be bargained with etc..
  14. Exactly Bruce...
  15. Didn't Jason have an ad for some gearbox's? Forgot about that..
  16. If you know Lou Mondello, he may have some knowledge of one...I can give him a call if you want.
  17. Are you after the metal piece that goes around the plate light and behind the number plate? If so I have one if you want.
  18. I remember reading about poor sealing from the area behind the fuel tank under the car not being sealed properly and like John said, with a window open causing a low pressure in the car sucking in air from high pressure outside bringing in all the fumes. I suffer from the same thing Rev so I will be tackling that soon. There are a number of hoses that go from the tank to the interior which if are not sealed properly, will let fumes come in. I've heard a smoke machine on the inside with a vac cleaner on reverse to apply positive pressure in the cabin can show where you have openings. I will try that as I think my zed is like swiss cheese with a few missing grommets!
  19. Welcome... Short and sweet... hope the build takes that long!
  20. Adam, my early 240 doesn't have a demister at all. I know the US spec cars did come with them and all the 260's in Oz.
  21. Check also on the back of the lock that little arm that operates the locking mechanism.. Over time it wears and there is excessive play wich makes it lose travel. Either way you will have to remove the door trim and look for excess movement in the linkages / locks and try to take up and slack from all the moving components. If each one has a couple of millimters of play, it all adds up.
  22. +1 with the EFI. It's really not that hard to setup and wire up yourself. If you can setup a set of triple carbs, throttle bodies are almost the same. If you can source some parts second hand and some new, you can save quite a bit of cash for that "set and forget" setup of EFI. It really depends on budget as well. I've setup my last two zeds with the same setup and probably wont go back to carbs if I can help it..
  23. One thing I do hope happens when this "individual" is found, is to name and shame him to make an example and to hopefully try and prevent this happening again. Or better yet, drag them out to the middle of nowhere and ..ummm you get the idea.
  24. It may not be someone on the forum... someone could've mentioned something to a friend and info gets passed along good info to the sharp objects of this world. To know the address and timing, they must have access to all the info they need. Something will be exposed soon enough.
