  1. I'd suggest a VL starter (planetary gear starter = low amps/quick cranking), good ol' 280ZX distributor and coil from the same 280ZX (or any good 12v coil; Bosch transformer type etc)
  2. I have some bigger lights if you ever need to do some bbq'ing later on.. I have some trendy 150W halide low bays if you need some. $17K aint that bad.. if it was brick you could double it!
  3. Thought so, I had a close look at my loom in the rear and the connectors for the rear demister are taped to the main loom.
  4. Very nice! I'm sure that will be following you when you're back here in Aus?
  5. Cheaper to get your own better combination...The set for $1300 is a rip!
  6. Have some here in Moorabbin next time you are through come and pickup!
  7. Welcome... That must be the recipient for the auto's you picked up. Just curious what chassis number? Hope it all goes smoothly back together..
  8. Not sure if the magnets can still be bought new from Nissan; call up spare parts and find out (may help to find out part number first as I think alot of them couldn't be bothered looking up older parts)
  9. I'd love a copy and gladly help but I'm a couple of thousand kays away.. if you don't find anyone, next Historics, bring it with you and I'll do it..
  10. I have a good second hand one if you want; PM me your details and I can get a quote..
  11. Do they fit a 240Z? if not, I know where else they can be shoved..
  12. + this site mainly deals with PRE 90 MODEL ZEDS!!!....go to aus300zx.com FFS.
  13. I hate to bring you some bad news, but I have been a member of numerous types of clubs (RC car, real car etc) and I can tell you, you will find those type of people everywhere. They are what we call "human". I'm also a member of the NDSOC... for about 16 years and have still yet to talk to a few members. I may not get along with some, but I don't have to share a house with them. If and when you join the club, like a few people have already said, if there is something you don't like, join the committee and suggest a change! Just a suggestion, if new members join up for CH reg, why not have a minimum "club attendance/activities points" scheme to make sure they do turn up to at least some events? I know this site has nothing to do with the NDSOC, but it will be something I will be asking the relevant people...
  14. Have hundreds here to choose from...but located in Melbourne.
  15. You are more than welcome to come and buy all of it off me if you want; I did the hardest part (along with a few other members) if you have some spare time, become a zed wrecker!
  16. You can tell by the width; if one is about an inch or two narrower, when you look at it from the rear looking at the rear cover, that would be the R180.
  17. The CH means classic / historic and basically is a 90 day unregistered vehicle permit. Previously you only could use the car on club related activities or test drives and drives taking the car for repairs. Now with the new laws, for between 45-90 (your choice) days you are allowed to drive the car for whatever reason as long as you fill out the log book accordingly. Failure to do that will earn you a nice fine.
  18. Greetings all.. I'm after the loom that plugs into the rear half section of loom that goes to the room lamp in the roof. There is a small white 3 pin (3 connectors in a row) connector that has a black wire, red with blue and red with black wire. I thought it was part of the rear loom but mine is missing. I guess when the car was being put together somebody misplaced it! I had a quick look through my collection and I only found 260Z looms. If anyone has one, pleeeeeaaaaaase let me know. Thanks Dimitri
  19. With you Simon, I too was going to ask Dave Jones about it and he told me you already had a chat about it so I thought I'd leave it for now. It does defies logic if they go ahead with that 12 month wait. As you and others have said, future member would just join other clubs!
  20. Mark, If you saw all the stuff I have to get rid of, you'd understand!
  21. I think he needs some more sleep but from what I understand is - "How much for the 4.3 diff and I want my zed to be the fastest one in Melbourne - can I have it?"
  22. Depending on your budget, those Swann units are probably the quickest and easiest to setup and start. My one was just a cheapie option to catch people illegally dumping rubbish in our yard. I did catch one guy in a ute but the only problem was the camera I was using didn't have a big enough infra red floodlight to get his plates. What made it hard was the headlights shining into the camera making the number plate appear as just a white rectangle. One thing I do recommend is not to skimp on the camera. Buy the highest resolution with the biggest IR floodlight possible. Even adding an extra IR floodlight will help. That's for outside but for indoors, any good camera should be ok. My setup cost around $60 + free PIII pc which you can find on any nature strip!
  23. Should have a bonnet catch you can have; I'll let you know by tomorrow.
  24. Reminds me of those old 60's wooden all in one stereos you used to see; mainly on nature strips.. I deleted my antenna hole in my zed but undid it later on... just stuck a grommet in it! looked a bit wierd.
