  1. Nuts...I was going to bring your thermo fan Simon...oh well..next time.
  2. I can agree with you about noise with a solid mount; its all I can hear in the back of my 240! With that mount you have pictured, if the bolt just goes through with the nolothane sandwiched there, it will still transmit some noise through to the chassis. I'll have to take a pic of my diff mount on the top once its on a hoist again.
  3. I have to admit the flares look great on the zed but I still can't take a grinder to my rust free arches! If there was nothing there but rust, I wouldn't think twice! Why not fit the coilovers? I'm getting ready to fit some to my zed once again..
  4. I found on ebay the 1/12 African safari 240Z for $100 that still is in its box waiting to be built; not sure if I should tackle it or hand it to a proffesional. There is a youtube vid of someone assembling it and of course makes it look real easy...6 part video if you can find it.
  5. Check the charging system with an multimeter and make sure you are getting at least 13.4-14.4 volts. I'd remove the terminals on the battery as I have seen some that "look" fine but were corroded very badly. Check all the fusible links for corrosion as well. 99% of problems are poor connections!
  6. Its one of those things...thanks to some f$^$$&, parts have to be moved! I'd rather see it go to someone here than anywhere else...
  7. Welcome Brendan, Best advice to give for someone looking for a zed is to keep saving those pennies!! Hope you find a nice example.
  8. Four thumbs up from me...
  9. That's Rob from the Z factory..
  10. It must be a parking aid... it's mounted in the furthest corner of the car away from the driver.. Reminds me of those early Volvo trucks that came with them; but with white round balls instead of red lights.
  11. I'm sure if you offered, quite a few zeds would be lined up outside your place for some good rust repairs.. excellent work!
  12. On a genuine Bosch pump that comes in all VL Commodores, in is larger than the out. I wasn't referring to Walbro pumps that must've been installed in that car.
  13. Last pump I removed from a VL was a Bosch unit about the same size as an ignition coil. Low pressure ends have usually a larger hose fitting than the high pressure side.
  14. Welcome and good luck on the hunt. They do come up for sale often so best advice is keep saving the pennies so you don't miss out on a good zed..
  15. I've had new thermostats jam shut from new... I'd remove the thermostat and check it opens sufficiently in some boiling water. Also check how much it opens...
  16. We can hope that one day our own zeds will all be up to that standard... hmm..reminds me of Fu's zed
  17. If its not anything too big and fragile, it should be ok. Let me know and I'll tell you yea or no..
  18. Very easy conversion to do. Engine mounts / gearbox mounts are available from lots of different places (this forum and Castlemaine Rod Shop) Sump / oil pickup is probably the hardest parts to find unless you modify a GQ Patrol unit. Everything else is pretty straight forward.
  19. PM's replied...if everyone can call before you leave, that would be great! Thanks
  20. As some of you may know, I have a few parts... I now need to offload a fair bit of it. I have glass, trim (int + ext), panels, suspension parts, mechanical, electrical and lots of other various bits and pieces..PM me for details as this weekend and next weekend all parts will be on display in Pakenham. Will be like a self serve wrecker but all parts have been removed already..bring cash and help yourself...0413 243 760 Dimitri
  21. Its always sad to hear news like that... RIP Aidann
  22. +1 ignition switch.. mine wouldn't do anything if you turned it too far. Remove two small screws and try turning it with a small flat screwdriver. Could be the key lock part that is playing up also.
  23. Im in Pakenham...are you in Vic? I'll do my best to get some pics first...
  24. D'oh.. should be more specific and ask month/year.
  25. What year is your zed? From memory the hole where the door lock comes through the top of the door trim is in different places depending on year. Measure how far from the end of the door to the interior door lock knob (from the door latch end and not hinge) I may have a set.
