  1. As above, a friend who no longer own his zed after it was written off by a gifted driver in another car, has for sale a 260Z 2+2 or 2 seater rear panel bought new from Nissan. When it was purchased, there were only 7 available; that was 6 years ago. Not sure if it fits both models but I can find out. He had a 2+2, so i assume its for a that model. Unless they share that same panel I'm not 100% on that. He's after $550. PM me or call me on 0413 243 760.
  2. With my RB gearbox in the 240, I tried using the Skyline cylinder but it didn't have enough travel. installed the zed one, worked fine. Compared the two bores, Skyline one was larger = less travel, zed cylinder was smaller = more movement for given pedal travel.
  3. Did it stop short of the wall? Thankfully no one was injured...and no flames!
  4. If you do go with the semi slick's, they are a bit noisy on the freeway so be prepared to sound like a 4WD at high speed! It's worth it if you ask me! If you have 16" wheels, contact Laurence (Lgee on this forum) to try used semi slicks at a good price with plenty of life left in them..
  5. Lurch, wait til you remove a roof skin and peek at whats underneath... About 90% of zeds have rust under there..
  6. Depends if you have all the parts to do the conversion or just started now. If you don't, I'd get it registered and drive and enjoy and go for the odd club event while you collect everything you need then pull it off the road. If it won't cost much more, that would be the way to go IMO.
  7. No youtube vid as yet but for now I'm happy to have wheels and tyres (BIG thanks to Laurence "Lgee") who fixed me up with some Dunlop semi's and fitted them to the 16x8's so now I can at least wheel it out of the garage. Fixed a small water leak and a leaky oil pressure sender in the meantime. Still waiting for Ron (HybridZ member) to modify my fuel/ignition map to get it running better than it is so I can get the exhaust fitted!
  8. I don't think 260's ever came fitted with steel wheels. I've only known them with the alloys. 240Z came with the 14x4.5 / 5 steel wheels and an original set is worth quite a bit. Correct me if I'm wrong though..
  9. The thing is that 10k is spread over a period of years. Few people have heaps of cash sitting there doing nothing. Except a friend of mine has been saving for as long as I've known him and he has enough cash to buy a new R35 GTR and possibly Geroge's Zed? But the thing is, took him months to convince himself to buy a Z32 300ZX!
  10. Same here..filled out the info so by know it's out in the universe somewhere..
  11. Found a pic of Steve Newings 2 ltr Stanza sports sedan with the heli rear wing...
  12. Mate has one with coilovers and just a NA 1.6. They do handle very well and are pretty quick standard. Installing a turbo is simple and cheap compared to others. But be careful of the early ones..89-90's. They had a harmonic balancer issue that would damage the crank and a bit exy to repair.
  13. Apparently helicopter blades work well as rear spoilers..cut down obviously..
  14. By the looks of it, it may make a great parts car. Being parked on grass that's nice and moist for who knows how many years, there's probably no floor in it! Worst place to keep a car.
  15. The headlight bucket bolts in from inside the wheel well with four M5 or M4 screws. Before you do that, mount the headlight into the frame but make sure where the cable exits from the back of the frame, it is pointing downward. When you install the headlight, make sure the headlight is the right way up! Then plug it in, install the retaining ring and bolt it in from the rear with the four screws. On the guard, if the nose cone is off, you will see four small nuts welded to the guard. Run a tap through to make sure you don't suffer when you install the screws. Dirt makes them a mofo. Rest of it is easy.
  16. Hehehe...thanks Gavin. Didn't mean to sound like that!
  17. At a guess, filler on th passenger side; same side as exhaust so it's a 280ZX 5 speed. Count first gear, if it's 3.2:1 280 box.
  18. The way I see it, you look at any serious zed racecar... not one (there may be the odd exception) has no lens covers so they must do something good. You remove two vertically flat surfaces out of the airstream.
  19. Finally had some success tonight. Got the L24 started! Couldn't run it for too long as the neighbours won't really like the open headers! Had to lock the timing in the ECU to 10' and play with the distributor. Tomorrow I'll play with it some more and take a video of it all. Next thing is to figure out how to set it all up properly; the distributor isn't sitting in the best place.
  20. Shane, try bolting or like I did one day, tape on some lens covers with some gaffa tape. Might help make the zed a touch more "slippery" through the air. Could drop the times by a bees!@#... edit: changed my unit of measure!
  21. Take a couple of pics of each side and post... it should be easier then.
  22. Just do some extra overtime at work and keep the zed and save cash. You know that's going to happen!
  23. Hmm...big improvement over the Dellorto's? Or they still need a good tune?
  24. Bruce, ask if he will sell it with the loom; if he does, that will save heaps of time and cash!
  25. Rev, found this on ebay, used one of these in my first EFI 260Z without any issues..bit old but good to start with. You will have to run with batch injection and can be used with an 280ZX electronic distributor. Might be worthwhile buying a new loom also. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/wolf-3d-version-3_W0QQitemZ120467125281QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c0c667421&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
