  5. I used to use sewing machine oil but that's only cause my mum and dad are tailors :S.
  6. The valve clearance under the tappet cover. If the valves aren't closing all the way it would explain a loss of compression. My Zed used to do it on the rear three cylinders until i installed new rings (which were all broken).
  7. Sounds like you need to check your valve clearance.
  8. I think the latest forum activity box needs to be longer cause i sometimes miss stuff. Also i don't think i will ever use "Box" and "Longer" in the same sentence again :S
  9. This is a thread that mentions wet legs. http://www.mail-archive.com/membersozdat@datascribe.com.au/msg12658.html But i have never heard of the term before. I think they screwed up your gear and are trying to cover their arse by the sound. Ask to have a look at what they pulled out and see what their response is.
  10. Heres a few shots of the EL Falcon twin fans i installed. As you can see they are wider than my standard radiator so i made brackets which then had to be modified to fit. Bit of a tight squeeze but they do a fantastic job. Then fans came from a local (Ballarat) wreckers for $80. Also i had to upgrade the fuse from 30amp to 40amp.
  11. This is the engine bay shot. They pull the air and are wired up red to positive, black to negative. I also had to upgrade the fuse to 40 amp on the thermo switch.
  12. Here's a bit of cooling overkill for ya. Twin EL Falcon thermo fans fitted to my 260Z radiator.
  13. Get out of ToWn dudes that is awesome and certainly a feather or two in the cap of AusZcaR and NDSOC... Well Done
  14. Clear tail light lenses. I've been surfin international ebay for a while but havn't seen these before. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-260z-280z-clear-tail-lights-lenses-1974-1978_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33715QQihZ027QQitemZ400036359357QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

  21. This is my attempt at making a balance tube on a Kameari manifold, it runs the PVC valve and the auto transmission modulator. My first attempt at making a balance tube looked like a giraffe raping a seal :S
  22. Dats good news....but she might need to go up in the idle jets, i'm thinkin your cam needs more as on highway travel you will (most of the time) still be running on the idle curcuit, this will make it run hotter and needs fixing. 48's would be perfect i think but i still have The Dellorto Pool, so let me know if you need to swap some out
  23. Grab your helmet and crayons cause i'm coming
  24. Sorry to hear that your car is damaged buddy. As for reparing the damage yourself, it usually states that it has to be an "approved" repairer. That may include you.
  25. Question? Rumour has it that "The Stig" has a love child, Are You That Man? Oh and welcome
