  1. I spoke in length on this topic with the company that ordered in and fitted my rims. I had a very small problem which turned into a real Cluster Fudge because of a fault with the suspension that was Diagnosed wrongly by the "Wheel alingment Specalists" who these guys farm their work out to. The story is that very few people know how to set up suspension setup's the right way because all the older guys who knew what they were doing are retiring and the young crew coming in have Zero expierence and it's only "Just a job" to them. To get to the point i think it's worth spending more Bucks to get your setup right by someone with the knowledge and it may take some time to perfect, i think if you ask anyone here that there would be few who are 100% happy with their setup. Go to enough people and you'll end up witha certain guy that people will talk about in your area who is Capable.
  2. K.,,, i'm going to ask the Question. What is it that you need to Do/Have to qualify as a member on this Forum. Anyone can answer that. But to Truly be a part of this you need to; 1 2 3 I dunno, because i jumped headfirst into this Forum and the first thing that popped into my head was " These guys are so out of my League" and " i'm not worthy". The reason why i felt like that is because i was a Z lover for a long time and never knew that there were like minded people. The picture all you guys painted as a whole before i joined seemed so exclusive that it scared me to hit Enter the first time. That's only because the Passion for this club by it's Members just Pours from every reply. Well just about.
  3. Try to imagine the forum Without Lurch ZZZzzzZZZzz
  4. Chook, (i'm calling everone chook nowdays) are you buying a set? If so where from? The more detailed you can be with your description, the more helpful everyone can be.
  5. Interior or exterior door handle?
  6. Just had to pay Rego so i won't make this one. Gee it's tough running your own Business.
  7. This sounds like one of those situations where one could pull together a group of skilled Z club members, finish this guys car off for him, document and film the whole process and then ask for a donation to AusZcaR as payment. Like a weekend warrior thing.
  8. The four bolts are on the motor side of the Flexplate, or they should be. A photo would probably help. I assume you're talking about cutting through the Torque Convertor but you shouldnt have to.

Just thought as i would do another "Unnecessary Modification"
  10. This is an AM Datsun radio that i've had sittin in the shed for ages.
  11. Yea roll on 2009 so i can spend another 5 0r 6 Gees . I honestly don't know what i did before i got My Z back on the road.
  12. I tried the 7772.4 Emulsion tubes and it was Shite. The 7772.5's are towards the rich end of the scale. I went back to the 7772.10 which is the leanest you can get, they work great and are the suggested starting point. The 7772.4's came with the new 45MM Dellortos i got but it was setup for rally which made it great for 3000rpm upwards but not for the lower half of the rev range.
  13. Sometimes i feel like there is never enough room for me :'(
  14. Yes but not till next year and i'll have two sets of three.
  15. The 40'S had a very similar setup except the emulsion tubes were 7772.8 and the chokes were 32.
  16. My Dellortos get a bit flooded when i throw it around. It explains a little on this in The Des Hamill "Tuning" book but doesn't go into great depth. I think this is the only reason that Webers are regarded more than Dellortos.
  17. I might leave the first question as it does seem a bit obvious but i think the Big Banana has a similar "Over Advertised" Problem. I suppose the best way to describe the Triples in my Zed is they drive just like a normal car. Idle is smooth with no hesitation off the line and i would know cause i run an Auto Transmission which requires these carbs to be spot on. But when she starts to cam on about 2500-3000 RPM its all go right up the rev range. The economy is around 325 - 350 Kays around town which is the same as i was getting with the 240 round tops i had on. Being an auto you can't just bypass a rev range that has a flat spot and i really couldn't say how much time i have spent working with these Dellortos in the last 8 months but it's a lot. When you start to understand these carbs they will talk to you and tell you whats wrong with them but not in a creepy "Stephen King" way. Tuning these things now has seemed to become second nature for me and then when i look at the variances in Sulio's Spreadsheet i wonder how some of the guys Zeds can actually run with the combinations they have. I'm certainly no expert but i managed to tune the 40's I had on previously and this has helped me to set these one's up almost perfect in one 10th the time. The only problem i have encountered is that if i throw the car around too much they will stutter slightly but it's really down to the suspension setup on my car which is the next item on the list.
  18. Funny how i always mention myself as in the third person and also assume that people read my posts . Anyways i went for a drive today and ended up in Swan Hill, going through Kerang and then back down via the Calder. A 800 Kilometer round trip and with the New 45MM Dellortos i did it in less than two tanks I can't tell you how sweet they are running but you probably get the idea. The ecomomy is better than the 40mm's. My final setup is: 45MM Dellortos 34MM Chokes 140 Main Jets 7772.10 Emulsion Tubes 210 Air Correctors 46 Idle Jets 35 Pump Jets I played around with different combinations but this one seems to work best overall. Not sure if sulio wants to add this to his Grail spread sheet. And i took a picture of My Zed next to the Big Murray Cod too
  19. I obtained the Chrome one's from West Exhaust in Caravan Street Wendouree. (Ballarat)
  20. This is a good time to catch me because i have a shite load of carbs at the moment with a lot of tuning variables. I will list what i have in "The Dellorto Pool" tomorrow.
  21. I'm thinking under load, up the pump jets, i think they are too small.
  22. I picked up a set of these (2) in Ballarat for $72 chrome and new.
  23. Got em on . Hmmmm and this is the other triple manifold i was talking about Sulio. http://www.kameariusa.com/L6_IntakeMan.php
  24. Is the popping through the exhaust or the carbies?
  25. I'll be here ...There
