fufu replied to C.A.R.'s topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
Hi, does it matter which year 280zx calipers are used? or any model can be adapted to it? -

Hi, that link to photobucket doesn't seem to work. It's best to copy and paste from the photobucket html tag sections not from the IE address bar. -
Hi, Just to update this section. Yes, it means we can now buy 16's and have tires Quite a few brands have started releasing the tyre spec profile mentioned as the subject. Toyo released T1R's a while ago, Toyo R1Rs their new tyre also is available. Hankook has a heap:- Ventus: R-s2, S1 Evo, ST, V12 Evo, V8 RS, XQ-Optimo, AS, Prime. *EDIT* I just got quoted, Toyo R1R for $200 each 245/45/16, Toyo T1R for $180 225/50/16 and $240 245/45/16 These prices include fitting and balancing. I'm thinking of going Toyo's as the price is fairly similar across the other brands... plus... its Toyo... good reviews.

I'd have to agree with Sulio, it depends on the compound of the tires. The stickier they are the less they last. How ever it works both ways... the longer they last the less grip they have and ultimately is very dangerous, as it is slippery not only in dry but even worse in wet. With that being said, there's also lifetime of the tires. Stickier tires also fade and become less sticky (harden) over time. It's the matter of balancing which tires suits you best for your use.

heheheh I took his other spare one, "it comes with free Over-riders" (Ash, 2008). Which might i have to say Ash, was fantastic because... after a polish on the section, it was perfect. Now i only need to get the front re-straightened and re-chromed. I want to see Ash race it... watch out for paranoid ash when a Porsche appears behind him.

Hello RDM-Z and welcome to auszcar. Here you'll find a great deal of information about the Zeds and all the questions, you have asked can be found in this forum but to give you quick answers. 240z and 260z ... same exterior shape, the difference would probably only be the transmission tunnel, as the 260z has a larger tunnel capable of holding a larger gearbox or bigger resonators for the exhaust system. Parts can be interchangeable for both cars on a grand scale and you can always modify them slightly if they don't fit straight away. Exterior panels are all the same. However apparently the 260z vented hood was there for a reason, something about pockets of trapped air. Wangan fan beware... 260z harder to find as a 2 seater, however they are in better condition and do come with many needed upgrades, in comparison to the 240z. But then again if you like the 240z rear lights... you can always do what Sulio (another proud fellow auszcar member) did to his 260z 2 seater. which is the 240z rear light conversion, onto a 260z rear. Or to be even more drastic you can do what Ash did, and chop a 240z rear and weld it onto a 260z. Be prepared to fork out the $$$, carbon parts don't come cheap. Also its a steep learning curve the moment you get it. I'm sure other fellow members would think the same too.

Arizona Z Car - Rear Brake Handbrake Redesign

yep count me in, Just wondering where did you order the wilwood spot caliper, was that through AZC as well? -
i reckon you have grounds for a counter-lawsuit for discrimination, as you said 3 other roady places gave you the all clear about it. In a way his abusing his power over you even under rightful terms of a roadworthy certificate. Call him up, grab his badge number and tell him your going to the department of public prosecutions about this. *by all means you can bluff or do it* but what have you got to lose, i suggest do it. I mean his making your life miserable, do this and he will be miserable.

Agreed, Little bit off topic. Recession hitting and it can be seen in all resale values of cars. You can get an R32 GTR, thats right a GTR, for around 11-12 grand. Honda DC2 Type R, the one that i sold last year for 25k, now 16k. If your in the market for a new daily driver... i would suggest to wait a bit. The reason being the recession so far isn't making people that desperate yet and prices can still come down further. Whats more is that in 2006-07 financial year there was 1 million vehicles sold within Australia, that's 1 in 24 people bought a new car. So... wait and you may be able to pick up a 06-07 car for a bargain. Of-course that being said its probably a commodore or a falcon or a corolla or a yaris, as they dominate the market sales.

Steve, can you explain further on this twin loop and single loop? I have both in front of me and there is a very tiny difference between what i believe to be a 240z MP/H speedo and a 260z KM/H speedo. They both use the same speedo line, fits perfectly. i have yet to test it as my car isn't back yet. I have a feeling it will work in my case because i have a square wire inside my speedo cable and this would fit the 260z KM/H speedo that i bought. I also have a JDM S30 speedo which looks like a hybrid between the 240z and the 260z in terms of plug input and lighting input design. However it has a 260z speedo input. But yea I'll mix and match and see how it goes next week, when i get the car back.

If your after a set of 4 and if your customised price hits over $2500 USD, i would suggest to contact Eiji from Datsun Spirit. http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk234/tarutamahome/?albumview=slideshow I'm not sure if that first contact includes postage and extras but with DatsunSpirit, it comes with air freight, lug nuts, lock nuts, stems and center caps. He can do custom to your preference too, not just charcoal and polished lip. Fu -
i hear every word from ya mate, Zworx is a big ripoff too. I swear they were charging me brand new price for second hand crap. I learnt my lesson, so a lot of the stuff i source is from overseas. The Z Store is a big help with small items, espeacially when you bulk and ship. God love true zed specialist. *Removed insult for obvious reasons*

WOW... and reserve not met. Imagine what price they would sell a 2 seater.... 100k? Reserve not met.

Hi guys, A little update, not too many words as pictures speak louder. Plus everyone knows whats going on so far so its been explained in previous posts. There is a few imperfections but nothing a bit of cut and polish won't fix. There is a 50cent piece size hole in the firewall that i want them to repair before they return the car back to me. -
