  3. Yes it is Aidan with the orange Zed. So sad. So young. RIP. There is a tribute on the JDMST forums. Aidan's family has setup a donation page. Aidan had a dream and their family is trying to accomplish this dream for him as a tribute. If you have a chance, have a look at the following link: https://www.smartypig.com.au/find-friends/friends-goals?userId=9ca22260-fd17-4a5e-9e3f-47b7d9710b8e
  4. Hi John, I'm interested in Rear lower control arms and the steering knuckles. cheers, Fu
  5. omg sakura rims... what a baller! very nice! Stivva, Are those HIDs or Diamond Visions? Looking at getting replacements for mine. Mine just feels like 2 small candles lit.
  6. Yes, I'm certainly the quiet achiever mostly because I feel like my car still isn't on par with a lot of other members projects, including yours.
  7. :'( That would be quite costly... I'd especially want to get my hands on some DCOE style throttle bodies to keep the sound.
  8. Thanks guys. The car scored 69.1KW. I'll have the dyno sheet posted up shortly. Dyno operators said the wide sticky tires contributed to a smaller score. But it is a perfect benchmark. May the modifications begin. I have a few months until the next BBQ Dyno day so it is time to start organising a few carby mods.
  9. Hi guys, Some update or lack of update, Haven't really done much to the car. I took the Z to its first dyno day. Here are some photos.
  10. Yep seat covers is what I had and it got me through the RWC without a hiccup.
  11. Oh so this is the white 260Z 2 seater V8. I only heard from my friend today, that he was selling it and then it clicked.
  12. I feel your pain Stivva. My Z was a menace as well. Try again with a charged battery. If it fails... do the usual mechanical check, Fuel, Electric, Air. Since you've checked fuel, move onto electrics. Remove one spark plug leave the lead on and put it near a nearby ground. Get someone to turn it over and see if it sparks, spark jumping from the spark plug to the nearby metal piece.
  13. Happy Birthday Lurch!
  14. Happy Birthday Dimitri!!!
  15. glad you got the issue sorted.
  16. The issue with the fan shrouds is the alignment of the mounting holes with the mounting holes currently on the radiator unit. It's probably about 0.2cm off on 2 holes. Nothing a little bending won't fix. Freight costs $180USD. So a grand total of $570USD.
  17. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-ROW-RADIATOR-SHROUD-1970-1975-DATSUN-240z-260z-/190531642379?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c5c92240b#ht_7658wt_1139 I felt it to be a better value package then anything sold within Australia. Especially since the AUD is doing so well.
  18. Challenge accepted! Mine is a 71. Since it was pre-ADR, they didn't ask about it. They ended up making me a new tire/rim load sticker. Within the engineers certificate it also states after-market wheels and the sizes as well as the tire specification. I would suggest calling around to other engineers and asking for their perspective.
  19. A parcel arrived today! Exciting! It was the radiator kit I ordered a month ago. The radiator kit was purchased to resolve the constant radiator and fan issues I had recently. The lack of clearance space between the radiator and the fan unit annoyed me so much I felt it was necessary to buy this kit. Mmmmmm shiny. I believe those silly vampires from twilight would lose to a shiny battle with this piece of metal. The kit also comes with matching shroud and two fans. Problem is the matching shroud doesn’t fit to well and will need some changes. On another note, I’ve called my local suspension place to book in a time to install those Arizona Z Car adjustable Lower Control Arms and Tension Control Rods.
  20. Thanks guys for the kind words. It couldn't have been done without the AusZcar community.
  21. No other hi-res shots. But here a few low-res shots. lol, I'll be sure to stay well clear of black 911s.
  22. Thank you for the kind words. Sadly, I won't be able to make it tonight. I made plans with a few work mates. I wouldn't be able to make it, as I'd need to go home, to pick the girl up, and sit through traffic to get from the West to the East. I'll be up for the next one. LOL, I'm more worried about the power issue. Scared me quite a bit. Had full power then it just cut and started to misfire and pop. I've also never liked the idea about being stranded in the middle of nowhere. Which brings me to the fact that I have no tools in the car at the moment. I'm looking into stocking everything up shortly. Including tire jacks, tools, a few litres of water, etc... I'll be testing her slowly around my area and then increasing the distance based on my comfort zone. I managed to find 1 rattle. The spare tire hasn't been secured properly so the bracket is just popping up and down. I'm certain if I look at the diff area, I'll be able to find a few more.
  23. A delicious parcel came today. What is it? Arizona Z Car Adjustable Lower Control Arms. Those following the project build so far are aware that I've been having scrubbing issues with the driver side tire. To try to fix the issue, I went to a suspension place and it was determined that adjustable suspension components were required to fix this issue. As such these bad boys were ordered. Should be installed soon and hopefully will solve the scrubbing issue. Fingers crossed.
  24. As of Tuesday the 3rd of May the Devil Z has attained her registration. No hiccups this time with the paperwork. All smooth sailing. Had a few young Vicroads Officers handle the registration. They were even more helpful than the last officer and showed a large interest in the vehicle. So helpful that they even picked out the number plates that added up to the lucky number 9 without the need for me to ask for it. Also attended a car meet yesterday night at the popular Garage Cafe. Yesterday would also be the shakedown for the Z. Upon driving it looked like the fuel delivery system clogged up for a short time. I lost power at low RPM making me crawl like a turtle which resulted in traffic being held up. But after a minute everything went away and the power came back. The car felt immensely rev happy after that. With a blip of the throttle would shoot the rev meter to the 5000 rpm range. I did notice a few metallic rattles whilst driving. So the plan is to check the rear drive-train bolts and mounts this weekend and clean out the boot of any rubbish. Still getting use to the car. Requires a lot of focus when driving. It just feels like the car could become a Devil at any moment if my guard was ever let down. To be honest this car scares me because of the amount of issues I've had with it. Only time will fix this.
