I'll keep it short. Something arrived today . 1 of 2 sets. Direct from Japan. Eiji from Datsunspirit is currently in Japan so if you are wishing to get a set. Best to email him soon. Yes the pics have a hidden joke message. As a request by Dimitri, I'll have scale shots of the rims soon. I'll use 2 sets of scales, 1 old analogue and 1 digital. Just to try and get the true weight. -

fufu replied to Zedman240®'s topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
Oh, which reminds me. Dimitri, you need to pick up your old exhaust from me. -
I remember emailing you about this engine but you said you were selling it to your friend. Such a shame that my priorities have changed since then.

Sad news today. After 1.5 years waiting for my watanabes my order has been refunded today. At the time the exchange rate was hovering around 105yen per Australian dollar. The company who i had gone with was offering it for $1700 a set. Otherwise i would have bought it off Eiji from DatsunSpirit for about $2200. Today i put through the order with Eiji and was charged $2790. (2 sets, 1 for me and 1 for mango) :'( Ahh well its so worth it for the fairlady. ETA 2-4 weeks delivery. -

Sorry i'm not a east sider Ash would you happen to have a spare booster? Either I'm in need for another booster or the tosser didn't do the 280zx MC modification, when he wacked it in. I'm hoping its the later. Fu. -

WOW It's been that long. Anyways a little bit of an update. Car... still not finished. Yes i dropped the car off in early March to another forum member who promised the world but failed to deliver. Said it would be running in August or September but hadn't had anything done to it till August. Not to mention charging me a premium price for the work done. Quite frankly it felt unjustified because it took forever. Basically don't charge people premium prices if someone else can do it better and overall a quicker turn around. Since it was already nearing to the end of October i was pretty much fed up. Wanted to sell it,the zed, off a few times but Lurch has inspired me to renew my aspirations in the project. "Thanks Lurch" With his recommendations I called up a previous contact Dimitri and he was willing to get it done. Please note that back in March i had 3 other tenders willing to do the work for me, Dimitri was one. My stupidity told me to go with a guy from Geelong/Moolap. Not only was it on the opposite side of town to where all the other tenders were. In other words where all the reliable and trustworthy tenders are located. As forum guideline prohibit me from naming and shaming. It's best to pm me if your wondering who i am referring about. I personally would never take it to him again nor would i recommend anyone else. Play it safe guys contact Lurch. *PLUG!* He will put you on the right path. Whether its electricals or mechanical give him a buzz and he will let you know who to contact. So as it stands most of the year has gone by. What has been done is the gearbox conversion, only costed me double what other tenders offered to do it for. Full bushings kit installed. Steering rack reconditioning. Not to mention from the above, my brakes are leaking and gearbox is leaking oil. *Annoyed* -
Congrats rev.

I'm agreeing with you Lurch.

did you get to check out his GTR? His resurrection the old gal.

:-\ Still be careful. We thought we were safe down here in vicmexico. My friend zoomed past a cop at 120 in a 60 (new car thought he'd give it a shot) and didn't get chased. But the cops went crazy over the weekends with breath testing, nabbing 216+ people.

yea it was featured in finalgear.com Very very interesting series. Watched all the episodes in one session. It's highly addictive. Quite interesting considering it shoes motor racing from the participating organisations perspective. Felt sorry for the whole crew, the amount of stuff they did just to get it ready. Working on average 20 hour days.

My first Z has 3 keys(1 for doors, 1 for boot and fuel lid and 1 for start). My second z has 4 keys(1 for doors, 1 for boot, 1 for fuel lid and 1 for start). Though the door locks are all busted so it's time for a change.

Today I got off my fat arse and decided to get the old gal running. Shopping list (don't worry i did my price checks and bought my products from both Supercheap and Bursons as it saved me a good $20) Quick stop at Bursons for Redline Water Wetter to help prevent corrosion. Quick stop at Supercheap for a century 67 battery, oil filter, Penrite HPR40. Quick stop at woolworths caltex for 15 dollars worth of petrol. About an hour later the old girl purred into life once more. Took a good 4-5 turns of the key for it to start. Quickly checked the oil and the oil level just plummeted. So I turned the gal off and topped her up. Turned her back on and left it there till it warmed up and checked the oil level again and topped it to the line. Did a quick electrical check. Most of them are working. Need to change 1 indicator, 2 brake lights, 1 interior light. My wipers didn't budge so I need to get that sorted as well. But the good news is she starts on first go now. That's all I have time for her today. Tomorrow I'll tackle the brakes. Another thing on the agenda for tomorrow is to check out the wipers as i believe they seem to be seized. They budged about 2 cms when turned on and then stopped there. -

from the images above, i think his missing 2 rods. The one parallel to the firewall and the one that connects that parallel rod to the carbies.

So glad you decided to keep it. I'll be going to search for zed bits tomorrow. I'll have a look and see what i can find.

You have very good eyes. Yep that's the spare on the rear passenger side. The 4th rim hasn't got tires at the moment. That will change soon. All rims are in mint condition and I had a play around with them yesterday. It's just dust and dirt. I wiped a layer off and its shiny chrome underneath. But i'll hit it with autosol just to be safe. -

http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=790038 Need to be a OCAU member for more then 3 months to be able to access that part of the site and that thread. The aggression starts on page 2 upon the seller announcing he would sell it to me. However i'll just do a small snippet of my rebuttal. I was referring to your first post in this thread. Explained below. I understand you bidded instant after i had pmed and posted "Ready for a quick transaction" but sadly i got in there first. Secondly if you were so keen by stating "I was super keen on restoring this car..." then your first post(quoted below) in this thread should have said instant not the one after mine. This quote should have been "I'll offer instant, love these cars!" you wrote this, knowing full well this could have gone another path. In other words your kicking up a storm of what boils down to be 'spilt milk' "from a member of another forum" you wrote this. Quite frankly if you've had an account with OCAU for less than 3 months this section won't be accessible. Yes i may be a lurker but I am a member none the less. I am a member of many forums. You could have written that quote for majority of the OCAU community. Are you telling me your only a member of 1 forum? can someone please forward me a link to buying and selling etiquette for OCAU. I would very much like to read it for the next time i buy off OCAU. I've read all the stickies and i just can't find anything in regards to this matter. I've been apart of many forums from ozhonda, nissansilvia, hachiroku, ae86dc, toyotaownersclub and have yet to see anything in regards to forum buying/selling etiquette. After that the argument died down and he admitted to having a cry, i guess. -

You should really see whats happening in the sales post over at OCAU. Some guy is putting on a sore loser fit over there. Over the fact i didn't say "instant" and he thinks its an etiquette over there. But it's all good, i put him in his place. -

I guess its time for some more pics? Here we go. That sunroof doesn't leak. Amazing considering I've heard bucket loads of stories about sunroofs leaking. The not so fabulous interior. Perfect dash as you can see, no cracks. Such a bargain. Underneath the seat covers we have a perfect condition series 2 cloth seats. I'll be using these seat covers for the Devil Z. As the vinyl seats are in a horrible state. Drivers side floor. No rust. SWEET!!! Passenger side floor. No rust. SUPER SWEET! Engine is a L26, the engine bay is in horrible state with grease and oil everywhere. It even covered up the chassis number. Going to get my hands dirty cleaning that up. Another pic of the engine bay. Something about these muscle wheels suits the car. As you can see the dickheads kicked in the door. Both sides kicked in. Got some bubbles and a few nasty paint areas which I shall try and get fixed up. Firewalls has paint peeling, going to need to sand back and paint. Going to buy a few things. Check fluids and hopefully will get it started today or tomorrow. Give it a little drive and see as well. The green is definitely growing on me. -
So I brought another 240Z for a daily.... Got it for a mere bargain of $1600. Main reason for the purchase was so I could interchange parts with the DevilZ. This would save me a shit load of money. But at the same time I needed to get a daily happening so I thought I'd get it on the road as the Devil Z is being a lady taking her time, to look pretty. I haven't had much chance to play with her so I don't know the full details as of yet. The seller was desperate to have it sold as he is leaving for New York, early July 09. Please take note it's a bit rusted but nowhere near as bad as my Devil Z. Also damn hell of a lot cheaper then the Devil Z when she was first purchased. History about the car. It was restored about 5 years ago, but rust is already coming through on the rear quarter. Other then that structurally it is fine. It was also broken into about 8 months ago and the door locks were busted. Failing to get in they kicked in the doors, around the handles. They stole the stereo system. I will need to get minor rust fixed, tyres, battery, brakes and side mirrors(they also kicked these off ). This should enable me to get it on the road. More pics to come, when I get a chance to play with her a little more. At present all I'm doing is fondling her wounds... poor dents... *stroke stroke*

LOL I was thinking matt black with a gloss coat or maybe a nice matt black vinyl wrap Something cheap to do. The current green on it is a bit hideous I think. But i may come to like it.
