  1. AFTER many months waiting for this kit, It has finally arrived. Though if i had chosen a different panel beater it would have costed me heaps in overnight fees. But I'm lucky. Finally the project can continue. Can i say, the way AllZpart do their business is very unprofessional and doesn't keep the customer in mind. Quite frankly i should have been told the truth from the start so i could have ordered it from MSA and received it but rather then this i was pushed around for a whole 2 months. Due to the fact that my PB really needed this product i gave into Allzparts and decided to wait small durations of "a week" which turned to the same excuse every week and then resulted in all most 3 months. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE who is searching for parts for the Zed. Call around and if they have it... get it from them... however... if they say "i can get you one by next week" turn elsewhere. It's all BS so they can find the product however long it takes and then sell it to you for unreasonable prices. Sorry to quit the BS i suggest you find a place that actually has the part your looking for in stock. I've learnt a great ordeal from this and i hope my suffering can lead you all to a better outcome. As for front spoilers I'd recommend getting them from MSA in the US. I'm sure their delivery time wouldn't be more than 3 week to get to your door rather then another company that took almost 3 months.
  2. Hi, only just saw your message. I know i shouldn't be selling them, never know when you may need a nice set of original 240z front rotors, especially after doing the slotted-drilled conversion. I'd say i have about 11.5mm = 1.15cms on it. Great thing is, I'm in Maribyrnong. You can come check em out. Name your price, take em away. 0424 323 262 names Fu
  3. Oh my why am i not surprised... still waiting on them spoilers. "They'll be here Friday" "They'll be here next week" for every 2 cents he said that to me, I'd be rich by now.
  4. Some of you may be wondering where to purchase Konig Rewinds as they are a cheaper alternative to the original Watanabe's. I've stumbled across a guy who works work a company called Kyoteki which is established in America however have a Tasmania branch. Kyoteki sells Konig at a ridiculously low price. E.G. estimated price i got for a set of Konig Rewinds in 16x8.5(-6) and 16x9.5(-19), total of 4, was $1060 Kyoteki make the order on our behalf and get them made and shipped to your door straight from the manufacturer. Estimated time 2 months to get to your door, 1 for making and 1 for sending from the US. Link below shows he is a seller on the AE86DC forums. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/board/index.php?showtopic=21065&hl= You can also contact him at this email address. contact@kyouteki-tuning.com Better act fast i don't think these prices will last long. I've also been quoted $1600 at ozzytyres in NSW. WOOTZ!
  5. Cheers rbz260. I think I've got a early model 240z. My wiring never had the parker setup nor the 4 lower indicator housing but a 2 lower indicator housing. So even though I've got that blue bulb its not hooked up. But hopefully I'll make some, so i can get them to work. Also want the parkers in the lower indicator assembly. Yea, in Victoria we have the same legislation with the bulb color. But lets see if them Pigs get me even though they aren't hooked up I can personally see the end of the tunnel now. Prior to this, boy is it a hectic project. I know mine has been a short project and a lot of others have had theirs for years, so honestly I've only begun to experience what others have gone through and can't imagine what they have experienced in difficulty in the long run. But yes, my goal is to see this to the end and hopefully put another Z on the street rather then in the scrapyard.
  6. OK, some very minor news, like if you value your time please come back another time to this thread HEHEHE Well Trueno is being registered on Thursday. Apparently in Sunshine Vicroads only has 1 day for import registration. If it was any other car it would have been done sooner. OK onto the Z. Nothing has changed. We are still waiting on the kit. Geee... *yawns* Warren said he would send it last Friday so hopefully will get it on Tomorrow Monday. That way Mango's car will be done and ultimately they will finally get mine done. Honestly we've been avoiding our Panel Beater because of that front spoiler. LOL Basically we are breaking promises which are broken by another person. But yea, I'd love to work on the car while its at the PBs but won't be doing so until i have the front spoiler. Basically the car should have been done early last month, thats how long I've been waiting on a "It's here let me get it out of the container" message. We did go by last week to check on Mango's and it does look extremely good. But I'll leave it up to him as his doing a blog on it as well.
  7. CAN I just say... WOW... *speechless* *gasps for air*
  8. OH MAN... this really puts a lot of our Zeds to shame... I know definitely mine has its exhaust between its legs now... Lovely car, love to see this thing in action.
  9. WOW those are some mighty fine photos. I've started the age old learning of photography as well. However I'm still suck with a MZ-30 Pentax with a 28-80mm lens. I'm in the market for a Canon 20D and maybe a 50mm f1.8 to do some portraits and closeups. I like the people from JDMstyleTuning. They have fabulous photography of their cars and thats the level i want to first move towards when i get the 20D. The Pentax just doesn't cut it with that sigma lens. Every shot needs a tripod with that camera.
  10. Happy Lunar New Year Everybody! May you have lots of Li Xi (Lucky Red envelop filled with money) *throws firecrackers* *making dogs go spastic**pollute the streets* *launches fireworks* *non-stop fireworks shows all over Australia till dawn, for some god damn reason we don't know when to quit* *does the stupidly annoying but addictive banging (theme to those lion dances)* *family members that rock up once a year to see you (Seriously why bother showing up to the event), just so they can take ya families money, but you take theres as well, then they tell you they don't have anymore red envelops, so you lose out* *Recite those happy new year lines that you've learned over and over just to say on that 1 day of the year* *visit temples to choke on the fumes from the overcrowded lighting of incense* *go to the countdown, to meet some FINE ASIAN GIRLS* MY FAVORITE Cost Analysis ------------- - Fire crackers pack of 10 --- $30 - Special Cracker Pack of 5 --- $25 - shaving cream --- $5 - sugar cane drink --- $3 - Look on all ya mates faces when you throw lit firecrackers at them --- Priceless p.s. i use to easily clear $2000 out of red envelops but the damn rising interest rates have effected it... and i now only manage to get $200-500. Wish you all the best in Red Envelops for those who participate in this event.
  11. LOL thats a pretty hectic list. FUBAR is a common phrase used in IT industry, especially network administrators. God i love some of these phrases XD I study I.S. at Monash and i swear we had a whole 2 hr lecture dedicated to these abbreviation. Yes, this is what they teach at Uni these days. *Edit moved here from Wheel and backspace thread ** -Gav240z

    My 240Z Project: It Begins!

As you all know i was in the market for a 240Z in which i could restore from scratch. Well i have the 240Z now and boy is it a chaotic experience.
  13. From the album: My 240Z Project: It Begins!

LOL i like the overhaul term. Yes as can be seen i've finished the overhaul of my front indicator assembly. Thanks to lenses and gasker from George, Texas, Ebay ID: reddat. Also thanks to Scootag for showing me where to get replacement screws. Gotta love the DSE bolts/washers/nuts pack. Only 5 bucks each and works wonders.
  14. Some good news today. Not much done on the Z so far, so if your after the Z project news, please come again. However if you like Trueno project news, please read on. Trueno News: Anyways the Trueno has been complianced. FOR SOME REASON I CLOCKED 100 KMS in 3 days of compliancing... weird... did they take it for a spin?. Not to mention i dropped from 2/3rds petrol to 1/4, so I'm thinking they did, as the mechanic was pretty keen on buying a Trueno as well. So... we finally fixed the intake popping sound today. You guys won't even believe it... Spark leads 1 and 4 were switched. That totally fixed the popping, from the intake. Only problem now is a lot of white smoke, presuming overfilled oil, occasional tiny small misfires in the exhaust. I'm guessing it will clear up eventually. We did drive from the compliancing place in Abbotsford to Maribyrnong on 2 cylinder not to mention a good waste of petrol. Welps hopefully everything will clears up soon. Going for RWC on Monday and Rego on Tuesday maybe. Gotta get the last two tyres. Z News: As for the Z. I'm afraid everything is on pause at the moment. WHY? you ask? I'm actually quite furious about this. Well after a fellow member said not to burn bridges over the front spoiler, i decided to go back to AllZparts and get the front spoiler... well all i can say is after 3 months wait and nonstop "its coming in soon" "it's comming in 2 weeks". I'm still waiting... now the current excuse is "new shipping company" "the container was damaged, we're lodging an insurance claim" "hope to get it out by Friday". Well Friday went by and nothing yet. Seriously if he down right just told me from the beginning i would have just ordered it from TheZstore, WHICH IS PROBABLY WHERE HE IS GETTING IT FROM, but the difference is i would have received it in 3 weeks unlike this BS. Until i get the bumpers i can't get the 260Z done which means my 240Z won't get done until after it. Very angry at allzparts at the moment. Guarantee theres gonna be more BS when i call them on Monday.

    Project 240Z parts 3!

From the album: My 240Z Project: It Begins!

Yes, more and more parts are coming, but merely just accessories and small things to make it perfect.
  16. Hello and welcome to the forums. My advice... buy... both of them. You stated its 4k for the 260z and about 3k for the 240z. Here in Australia they are both bargain prices and you'll clearly be purchasing just 1 at at least 8k. So the key is... buy them both use one has a donor car for the other. Sell off some parts if you have to because thats a steal of a price. Pst! I've done a Wangan Midnight Analysis and it's actually a 260Z 2 seater with 240Z garnishes (in terms of S30Z). This is studying the old 93 real live action movie (clearly a 260Z) and the anime series(260Z interior and 240Z garnishes). Unless you can get your hands on a 65-67 S31Z with 240Z all-round garnishes, because thats the real devil Z. Yes, RB for $750, does sound a bit unrealistic here in Australia, as mainly they go for 2-4k depending where you look and who you know. However if you go down the Wangan Midnight Boosted L28 route, i bid thee super luck and may you have bottomless money wells at your disposal. That engine i would believe to be in excess of $15000 just to even make. The key identical pieces would probably be the triple carbs and modifying that HKS 240Z surge tank, very hard to get. Not to mention a custom twin turbo manifold with a custom exhaust system to match. But everything can be done if you have the right money, so the DevilZ can be built none the less. Enjoy your stay here and check out www.HybridZ.org for details on engine mods such as twin turboing an L28.
  17. I was thinking about a Pivot Raizin unit to help out with the grounding/electrical-flow and be a temporary solution until i can afford a re-wire with relay system. Running a little thin in the budget at the moment. Two cars is such a handful, especially when problems are sprouting everywhere.
  18. Hello everybody! Just a quick update with photos. Mango called me up the other day and wanted to check up on the Z's, so we went on down there and checked out how our Z's were doing. Anyhow heres some pics of the work done so far. Basically sanding down. Pic of the door, the better one of the two. The other one has a lot of pin holes and a prior rust repair. This door has a few pinholes but nothing too major. Pic of the bonnet, Few pinholes in the front edges, thats about it. Pic of the roof, probably the only nice bit of metal on the car. However i did warp it a bit with the 3M cleaning disc - They suck trust me, don't even bother getting/using them. While i'm waiting for the car i decided to do the little nitty gritty stuff to speed up the re-assembly later. So heres a pic of the new Glass housing and H4 bulbs installed into the headlamp assembly. Nice? hehehe. I hope they work well that is, yet to try. Stay tuned for more updates. I would do a Mango section but i think it's best if he tells the story. His got a 260Z 2 Seater being done at the moment.
  19. From the album: My 240Z Project: It Begins!

While the car is away, i've been doing the small stuff like fitting new bulbs to the headlamps and indicators, so it'll fasten up the re-assembly process. Not to mention a quick clean of the garage, but now the Trueno's in there. LOL only had the garage empty for 3 days.
  20. From the album: My 240Z Project: It Begins!

Every piece of this car has a problem, so... the problem with the roof, my fault, i warped it slightly on one side when i tried to sand it. attempt fail XD
  21. From the album: My 240Z Project: It Begins!

This is the bonnet partially sanded back. There is a few pin holes in the front section and around the edges/corners
  22. From the album: My 240Z Project: It Begins!

This is the better door out of the two, the right hand door has had a patch up job in the bottom not to mention is full of holes now. This has a few holes in the bottom right. But all in order this is a nice door.
  23. Yep, got the EFI guy to come around and do an off-car injector check/clean. 1 of my injector is running super lean. Probably get double the rate from all the others. Which means at high revs i'm popping or the cylinder isn't working. Anyways gonna get new injectors for that car soon after compliance. Still works just missing a cylinder randomly LOL Still it's good news though. I have a new fuel filter in. Damn the fuel looks dirty. Put it this way it looks like dirt was mixed into it. But it'll clear up over time. The car idles nicely now but random pops or missfires, alot better than the last few days where it would bounce from 500-700 revs, now idle its about 900 standard - no bounce.
  24. I believe the injectors are clogged. As i get soot coming out the rear exhaust as well as black liquid coming out. Initially thought this substance was oil but after having a look a few hours later, the liquid disappeared so it must mean its fuel. Thats a relief i guess. Have high hops its an injector problem. Also thinking this could be due to running the car near empty for first try. While I'm at it I'll get the fuel filter changed. Symptoms does fit from what I've read so far. Gonna get the mechanic to clean out the injectors and see what else is wrong.
  25. Does anybody notice the van in front has the same colour paintjob? Ey i see a Nissan badge
