  1. Congrats Andrew, great zed! Last time I saw an early 2 seater 260 I noticed a few differences to my late 76 2 seater. No hazards, no passing light/flasher on indicator stalk. Instruments font on the early 260 same as 240z whereas late had different font. The later 260 also had changes to suspension, lower / beefier chassis rail, door strikers, lock knob position as well. Personally I much prefer the early 260....you can almost pretend you are driving a 240
  2. Yep, the "rounder" number font is for late 260 which will match the other dials-fuel/temp oil ,speedo tacho etc. The other two, depending on wiring/mounting hardware could be for early 260z or 240z. The Radio again is late 260z, I believe the early ones I've seen were AM only. If you still have the original knobs in good nick the value would double. cheers, Mike.
  3. Still looking for one.... cheers, Mike.
  4. Hi Jason, you might want to try these guys, they are near Mick's. http://rentaspace.com.au/self-storage/sutherland-shire/rent-a-space-miranda-self-storage/ I have a unit at my local kennards self storage and they ask for around $120p/m for approx 2.5mx2.5m, no contract, month by month.
  5. Those tail light surrounds are actually from a 2+2 so I think Gav is on the money about the "upgrade" theory, plus the dashboard. Besides, I am sure Mossy knows what he bought. Just be thankful that they're not 240k tail lights.
  6. It's also worth noting that the ebay listings above for 233 & 236 are from 2007. From my hazy memory, 233 went for around $12k and 236 for around $5-$6k.
  7. I still miss my '76 120Y GL.
  8. If he fell onto the track from the high part of the grass, I can easily understand how he could be seriously injured. It would be at least a metre depending on where he fell from.
  9. I figured that. When it comes time to replace, i'll probably install a rheem.
  10. We had a blackout from 5pm to about 9pm. The kids thought the world was coming to it's end with no internet . On a side note, I was peeved that my gas-fueled Rinnai infinity "continuous" hot water system certainly did not continue during the blackout . I just moved into our new house last month and the rinnai has always been here so I haven't experience that before.
  11. Not sure if this style is what you're after, I still have the $500 set available, in Sydney. View my post in the thread below: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13818-any-wheels-for-sale-to-suit-240/page-2 cheers, Mike.
  12. Great to meet some new faces and catch up with old friends as well.
  13. Damn, I was actually around Shoalhaven and Kiama last Fri & Sat with the family. We headed home Sat afternoon (one day early) because the weather was bad!
  14. Yes, my bad it does not attach to the floor.
  15. Hope this helps, you can see in this first 2 pics the bracket that holds the centre console to the tranny tunnel is still attached to the radio.
  16. I'm sure they'll be plenty of happy memories still to be made, but here's one from a few years back-gee kids grow up quick! I'd better start hiding the keys!
  17. It's another green one Gav, heading under it's own steam down to Mexico from Sydney soon. Not an early girl but a matching #'s 240 nonetheless. I'll let the new owner tell us about it himself.
  18. Congrats, she looks gorgeous in that yellow. Looking forward to seeing the red or yellow one in the flesh sometime. I think I know where the green one is headed.
  19. IMO any older rwd car will be going up in value. The 180B's ticks the rwd box plus the added bonus of the independant rear suspension, just like the 1600 is what I feel raises the value of it. Also, the 2 door SSS 180B, being rarer and more attractive also pushes the value up. My uncle had one, auto with stock twin SU's-it went well. I was just talking to a work colleague about old jap cars and we mentioned the 1st gen RX7's and the old rwd Celica's are very undervalued at the moment-time to snap one up!
  20. Gav, that's exactly what I'm talking about. When they just tax everything that comes in from overseas it no longer becomes a consumption tax (ie GST, VAT) it becomes an import tax/tariff. We already have these taxes, we are already paying them indirectly. It's got nothing to do with local business, they already have to collect GST and pay it to the govt if their annual turnover is over $75,000. What they are talking about is GST which is included in the sticker price of goods, collected by the seller at the point of sale and then paid to the Aus govt via BAS. Also, if the seller is paying Aus GST they then should be able to offset it in their BAS. I'm not aware of any other country in the world that does this because it is simply not viable. I simply cannot see it happening as a true consumption tax (GST/VAT). But to introduce a completely new tax or simply raise the import tax would be easy.
  21. Absolutely dumb, dumb idea. How on earth are they going ensure compliance? "Hello Mr Wong in Shenzhen it's Joe here from Austraylia , we need you to register for gst and complete a BAS every quarter." Mr Wong "Doh Mah, deelay no more!" It's going to cost more for the govt to enforce for little reward, I can't see it happening. Unless it'll be a rort-sellers will charge it, we pay more but the govt won't actually collect it .
  22. I think Iceberg means the whole plastic one like below:
