just adding to my previous post, find a tyre shop who has a few second tyres in the different sizes to loan you to trial fit. Also the actual tread width and shape of the sidewall can vary among the different brands and when you are talking about bee's dicks this can make a difference. Generally speaking, the brands with the rim protector will be wider. I settled on pirelli p7's 205/55/16.

Not sure if the stock tyre size/ rolling diameter for 240's and 260's are the same but 215/55/16 would be larger and put your speedo out, 225/50 or 205/55 is closer to stock. You should be able to get michelins and pirelli's in 215/55/16. My opinion only, I am not too fond of Falkens I am running 205/55/16's on 8'rim 0 offset, no problem. I know some tyre manufacturers state 7.5" as max for a 205. I took the advice of the tyre shop manager, he said it is not a problem-didn't blink an eyelid. Although he did advise against 205's for a 8.5". If it makes you feel better, 8" = 203.2mm
  7. When I first joined this forum it was still called vicZcar and I assumed everyone was mostly in Vic. So since I'm in Sydney, hence Sydney Mike as opposed to outer-mongolia Mike. Well, now as we have evolved to AusZcar, and we even welcome members from overseas I might change it. As soon as I figure how to
  8. Spotted today on a 200SX YBH8N4 interesting, but judging from the car, the rent on that plate could go to better use improving the car........
  9. Spotted a really nice 260z 2 seater, red in Marrickville today, just off Addison Rd. Belong to anyone here?
  10. maybe this ATO employee should post and clarify once and for all
  11. Yes, thats what I had in mind. If the seller is willing to go along with it they've got the sale. If not , I'll keep the money in Australia
  12. Any accountants here? I am considering ordering $1500 worth of parts from the USA and I am not sure if I am going to be hit with GST/duties? I've been told that importations of over $1K have to be subject to GST? Also been told that companies like UPS have their own customs collectors so to avoid them. Please share your experiences. cheers, Mike. and Happy New Year!

  14. That's no good but on a positive, you have insurance and most importantly it's great there was no mention of anyone getting hurt. The hunt for a another Zed will be exciting, have fun!
  15. Wow, how times fly. This will be my fourth Christmas here. Have a Great Christmas and New Year my friends and wishing you all good times and good health and lots of goodies for your Zeds! Mike, Jenny and Little Benjamin. Another little one arriving late Jan 2011
  16. R.I.P Kyle, now you are at peace, be sure to login from up there and keep an eye on us. I'm sure everyone will agree, compared to other forums I feel this one is made from thoroughly decent members. Even though many of us have not met each other, we do regard it as a family. I have never met Kyle, but have followed his posts and like other members have said, his enthusiasm comes through strong through his keystrokes. I am not usually an emotional person, but this tragedy and the posts here have exposed a bond we have as members, whether you knew it or not. We all feel hopelessness sometime or another and as other people have said.....reach out and say something. Sincerest condolences to your family, my thoughts are with you. Mike.
  17. Spotted on a MR2 today MAN-80Y
  18. Welcome Brad! We have been losing quite a few Zeds interstate lately so it's good to get one back!
  19. I would not let Nick near my pushbike, let alone a Zed
  20. welcome Ian, looking forward to seeing your Zed up and running
  21. Not sure of your age KatoKid (i'm 38) but maybe thats what makes U2 such a great act-to appeal to more than one generation and the ability to evolve their style of music. Nevermind me, I'm just an old fart stuck in the past!
  22. Don't wish to hijack thread......hang on...this is mine but I beg to differ. I am a huge fan of their earlier work but (have every album upto zooropa)IMOJoshua Tree best, Achtung Baby was/is a legendary album but everything after was a bit mediocre they should have disbanded. Again, IMO they were at their peak back then and the car would have fetched a fair price at that time, but now I think U2 have outstayed their welcome. Jennifer Hawkins maybe but Bono, please GTFO my bonnet!
  23. Have to say I have been enjoying all the 80's 90's stuff they are playing on foxtel at the moment. That's how I caught the U2 moment.
  24. Rock legend or not, if Bono jumped across the bonnet of my Zed...... at 4:10 and 4:16 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW88EvEAd0k
  25. anyone take pics?
