    After I fit the new wheels I guess I'll check the speedo against a GPS and note any difference. It's widely accepted that GPS is more accurate than a car speedo.

    i'm not into the stretch-look, it's just that I have a mate with some near new(barely once around the block) Continental 195/55 and 205/55/16's that he doesn't need. I might just grab the 205/55 for the front rims which are 16x8.

    Looking at the Penrite website, would the "Classic" series oil be a better choice for a stock/ near stock L6? The zinc content is higher in the Classic than the HPR 30 as well

    Calling all tyre technicians........... would it be unsafe to fit a 195/55 on a 16x8" and 205/55 on 16x8.5"rim?

    I bought the jaycar stuff and a spray adhesive. Now just have to find the roller like the fibre-glasser uses.

    Cool, i'll give it a go then. wasn't sure about the airgap thing. I thought the airgap might result in it being ineffective. The jaycar stuff is cheap anyway compared to dynamat.

    I'm thinking about using some sound proofing material such as the stuff they sell at jaycar under my carpet/trans tunnel but not keen about using adhesive. Will it still be effective if I just fix it with some 2 sided? cheers
