    Datsun Day 2011

    From the album: 1

  2. When you guys mentioned Silverwater I thought you meant all Jap day which is Sun 13th http://www.alljapanday.com.au/
  3. Thanks for the links, I caught the first two episodes but the timing was off the last episode and my recorder missed half of it. Mike
  4. If the weather is good I will chuck a sickie and come with the Zed. It will be a golden opportunity for the Sydney members who have not been acquainted to do so. I must admit I have been lazy in this regard this year. Mike
  5. Hi Martin, and welcome to the forum. do you have some examples of your work to show us? Mike
  6. Very sad, thoughts and prayers to Aidan's family. Never had the chance to meet Aidan in person but planned to at a Sydney meet. Aidan was always happy to offer advice and help with Zeds, and only now, after reading about his efforts outside of cars with charity it truly shows that his heart is in the right place. You're a credit to your family. Too soon Mate.
  7. Car driving dogs are amazing......
  8. interested in the indicator stalk, PM sent
  9. Sounds good, could make it if it wasn't too far out. I think I've only driven my Zed three or four times since Datsun Day last year. Been flat out busy with two kids now need to help at home when not working.
  10. Thanks for that 260Coupe, these are the sort of stories/experiences we want to hear about.
  11. Thanks Alex, thats just the thing. They say they have the right to refuse the claim, I just don't know anyone personally where they have had their claim refused. I do know many people with modded cars. Back in 1996 when I owned a N14 SSS with the usual bolt-ons,dark tint, lowered, cat back exhaust ,intake pod and 17" sparco's, I t-boned a lady that ran a stop sign. I had no problem in that instance because I was not at fault and she admitted fault. I know I am not going to get a definitive answer on this one, just like people to share their experiences.
  12. I would already know what the answer would be..hence the word "illegal" What the post is asking is
  13. I was just watching my neighbour install HID lights in his new 2011 Mazda 3 today and it got me thinking. He told me it only set him back $50 from ebay and it took a whole 15mins to install. I have heard that this is an illegal mod as his mazda isn't equipped with headlight washers which is a requirement with HID equipped cars and his projectors may not specifically been designed for HID. Another neighbour has a camry with 19" wheels Now I know many common mods such as tints, lowering, exhaust, wheels/tyres may be considered "illegal". I have been stopped in my Zed, lowered, wheels, numerous times for RBT and always get compliments from the officer. My question is, has anybody here experienced problems with insurance such as a claim refusal because of a mod, even if it had nothing to do with causing the accident?

  15. Maybe, as a spectator at the very least. Not sure about bringing the Zed.
  16. It's a great Zed but have to agree with PZG302 & Ledge. But remember it's the writer of the article not Rocky or the owner claiming it's the "greatest Z in existence". It's certainly not super-light (I think from memory BenZeds is lighter?) The mere mention of "three central airvents have been converted to house the Omori gauges" alone shows how much the writer of the article actually knows about Zeds. Would I want this Zed in my driveway? For sure
  17. stunning car, but.............. does it really need that plate?
  18. +1 edit: Step 1: Buy a little girly car, say a Swift in my case. For more affect buy a Mazda MX5.
