The z race ( yeh it is a repost... what you gonna do .?! ) http://www.metacafe.com/watch/110690/old_new_nissan_z_s/ on the main topic of z car values : I believe there is a glass ceiling to the value of the zed. I love the zed ( in fact i love the 2+2 more than the 2 seaters - it does happen. ). and for the CURRENT prices you get a very ( i think this is so important I am bolding that ) good car and a superb performer. In fact I'd go as far as saying in the mid sized/classic/sports car market nothing comes close for the money. However. If prices were to reach the early to mid 20's then you are in a different league. People are used to seeing some pretty exotic machinery around for early to mid 20's. And the datto just isnt as exotic as some of the would-be competitors. Just my opinion as a person who isnt wedded to one car or brand just likes well sorted cars for an honest price.

2 questions. 1. Why do they need to sign post it right out side the actual statue-thing ? I mean here you are parked next to a steenking great cod... and the council says " hmm we better tell them it is a giant cod ! " 2. Nice specs and stuff on your dellortos. My main question is : daily driver ? What are the manners of your triples under daily driver needs ( stop start, queues, waiting 30 minutes to go 100 m ? I got triples but they have to be daily drivers and I have yet to meet someone who daily drives their triples. If you do can you tell me how she behaves?

I painted my car myself as well. Best feeling in the world when you buff it up and you can see reflections. Love the fact that you got rid of the ridge between headlight bucket and quarter. Also Looks like you got rid of the aperture for the side repeaters ( not too knowledgable about zeds perhaps yours didnt have them from factory ) anyway thumbsup. Do keep us posted about the megasquirt as well. Really interested in that part of the build.

I think it is the legality issue that stevo_gj is alluding to. Almost 100 % sure that EFI spec cars/engines have to retain their pollution and other doodads to be legal. But that is probably a QLD law and not a VIC/NSW/WHEREVER law.

zed660 : thanks for the link. I know it was for ol_skl_jp but i found another idea on the old " tacho not working after 280zx dizzy upgrade ".

Had exactly the same problem on mine. Here is what i did. ( it might not be right and it might not be correct BUT it did fix my prob ) I undid the philips mounting screws ( not the ones on top of the stator/rotor/doodad ) to allow for movement ( didnt take them fully out ). Then I found the small little ball bearing that governed the movement back and forth ( and I think you have one I marked it on the uploaded image ). The auto electrician i was talking to told me to take it out but that pushed the rotor assembly over to the one side and I saw dollar signs light up in his eyes. Guess what i did. Then i moved the little ball around towards the gold looking philips screw which had the effect of making the rotor assembly push to the center. What made the same gap for all on the stator/rotor/starlooking thing . ( actually there was a 0.010 mm difference but meh ). Then carefully tightened everything up to spec. Caveat. Not sure if this ball bearing I am talking about is a standard thing or something the previous owner or whoever put in there to sort the problem .It has sorted the problem though. Gav : Way off topic but is there a way of turning on "notify me of replies " automatically ? I only see it when i attach files and I dont always do that!

I know you say you got parts waiting and so forth ... but what are the plans for the blue beasty? Superb job on getting what looks to be a sensational body ( the car that is ) for the money.

and they work really really well. ( cant have mine )

Ebay 240z for sale rb30det twin cam 400 RWHP
modular9 replied to Mr240z's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
I'm watching. Love to know what it goes for. But then the QLD authorities will say no to about half of what is on the car so there probably is no point. ... sometimes i hate the interweb. :-\ -
Now I am sure that Van will say that he's had these pics BEFORE they were even taken, on his site but... More pics on the street. http://www.worldcarfans.com/9081114.022/nissan-370z-photographed-on-the-street-in-los-angeles And this is the pic that tips me over the edge

Wow! That is a great car. Very good luck with the sale Have you tried jdmstyletuning there are some old schoolers in there that might bite.

Hellfire : Can you ( or anyone else ) enlighten me on the too much airflow is too much ? I suppose it could blow the induction box off ? Anyway. With the pod what are the results. A better response ?

I think the rear spoiler actually detracts from the lines of the car. I am sure that it works in a "lets-go-to-the-ring-and -beat-them-porsche-fellas ". But it does detract from the lines of the car. I personally cant wait to see what someone like ab-flug will do bodykit wise.
-
will do Moonstone . Decision will be made once new motor has 100 - 200 km put on it ( daily driver, so shouldnt take too long ) Cathartik : pm will be sent.

vl commodore pump bolts directly up and is based on the bosch 040 ( or something like that. ) I was getting 12 psi before i wound it down to 4.5 psi ( twin rebuilt su's ) Had a holley blue+reg and it was bad. You can hear the difference on the youtube link on my build up thread. I went with the non turbo as the guys at the wreckers didnt have one on hand and it was only 35 $. My brother runs a rb25 dett in a vl and is using the same pump on that so it should handle things. If anything the volume is still a little too much but then i dont have a fuel return rigged up yet ... Hmmm must do that.

If the efi is sold separately I'd be interested . Would need almost everything to convert from carb to efi. Built a n42/f54 combo and have twin su's and triples, but would actually prefer to efi/turbo it. PM me if you need to talk cash. And am in brisbane as well.

yeh man go and see it. I dont want it , I just want you to go and see it !

Yes it is good but i got my ass handed to me by a 5 year old at harvey norman Taken the box off the net so cant help you with some forza racing but will be around. Would be good to get some auzscar forza action

or snakes ! Hellfire : that looks very very factory/OEM/AWESOME! Paint it that odd red/orange and even the concourse nuts would have difficulties. Saved images to desktop for copying purposes. BTW ( slightly off topic ) I had a discussion with a manager of Supercheap and apparently the stores are "weighted" to the type of community there is. EG slacks creek in Brisbane has almost everything you need for a CAI but then there is a tuner's heaven Autobarn across the road The thinking is that the area has more DIY modders in the area than a "I dont know how to change my wipers" type of an area. So not all Supercheapautos/autonbarns are made the same.

Its the bum that always does it for me. The way they have it tucked under and the front end is nice. Sorry not as much as a s30 fan as to pass up the 370 ! Not that i can afford one. I mean if it is going in at the price point a new 350 is going in on, I'd stump for a second hand 911.

took a day off work to play with the zed so got the engine all sorted and torqued up and also two images of the flexplate to get an idea as to how thin the plate is ( 3mm ) Previous owner has put rubber bushes on the passenger side and urethane on the other side ! Anyway so it looks like the rack is coming off. And what about some lowering at the same time ;D

scootag : thanks for the weight issue. Been thinking of modding a jaguar xj6 Cold airbox to fit but it is quite heavy. DONT GET RID OF THE SOFTMOUNTS! Yeh I meant to shout that as well. Fuel frothing issues suck a crapload with dellortos ( cant talk about webers but dellortos work really well with softmounts i found out ! ). Apparently you can also shake the needles to crap and back as well as hurt the delicate fuel float parts with shaking. I learnt this the hard way.
