  1. Hi Daedalus Welcome to the site, there are 5 of us from the Rat hanging around on the forum. Some with working cars and some without!
  2. Lost for words..... My thoughts go out to his family. You will be remembered Kyle.
  3. Driver comfort and a lighter car, got to be worth 1/2 a second off your lap times Gareth.
  4. Just take it, It'll not b missed. I know where u live anyway.
  5. Careful Bruce, Scoota will be knocking on your door at 7.00am wanting to fit an engine. Its happened b4.
  6. Took the car to Euroa show n shine on Sunday, 500+km round trip. Ran really well, found few bedding in issues alternator bolts, fuel pump etc and the carbs need to be re jeted for the L28 all very minor things. Its a strong motor, once it cams on at 3,500 (std 240z A grind) you can clearly hear the exhaust note change.
  7. Can't wait to move Mustard (AKA the slug), and properly try out the modified valve body in the auto and hear the new 2.5 exhaust system and hpc coated headers working without raw oil coming out the exhaust pipe. Scoota and Rob have done a power of work considering we only took the head off the block Sunday evening. (Thanks guys) and this motor received one of my spare 240 A grind cams, it had a B grind in it!. I am keeping the 74 cam and e31 head for another high comp motor which will happen as soon as orange is back on the road.
  8. There are two seperate globes in the early park lights. Those bar mounted indicators only came on the 73 model like yours so I'd keep them; they are unique for your model. (read this many many years ago) Back in the day there was a boat load of Zed's fitted out for the UK market, when it got there there was some form of strike at the docks. Nissan sent the ship to Australia (being the biggest right hand drive market outside of Japan). Therefore there some cars in OZ in euro sec guise (there was only one or two differences) indicators being the obvious one.
  9. its generally correct, but not for all cars. 2003 Honda for instance
  10. + me. I am sure I can get at least one more to come from the Rat.
  11. Yes, with wind chill factor, it finally reached 0 degrees at 5.30pm on Wednesday. Time to break out the sunscreen.
  12. Stop giving him ideas Rob, you know Scoota will do it.
  13. Still did 100mph with an auto before it decided to blow raw oil out the exhaust, never a good sign.
  14. I'll do a trade Z, for Bitsashitty Lancer any day. Bitsa will do 1.55s around Winton long track.
  15. Not at all, I have done Lukes Run in the Zed for the past 4 yrs and in one day done the loop. Ballarat - Geelong - Apollo Bay - Lavers Hill - Apollo Bay - Ballarat Fun roads make the time go quick.
  16. I'll be there, Bruce by the sound of that motor on Saturday I don't think it will last till Christmas.
  17. I thought I was one of the few on here that kept cars stock big fella. Stock = points ignition, cast iron exhaust, twin carbs and much less than 45 dec advance. and Gordon Dobie must not have been within 100 feet of the car, ever.
  18. ill come for a look see
  19. Its alive. Rego expired in 1999 and the two previous two owners didn't run it. Mind you I have had it for 3yrs and I had never even bothered to try. Parts required 3 car batteries fuel pump adj oil pump elec disy fuel line fuel put the bung back in the balance tube See how it goes under load but so far all indications are its a goer.
  20. Dad runs one of the S1 Lotus Esprits as his daily driver. 1 owner and just finished a 6yr complete over haul.
  21. As above, my understanding was the vents were introduced along with the flat top carbies and emission controls in an attempt to alleviate some of the vapor lock, and higher engine bay temps.
  22. Dale - no I can't do it Z - go on, you know you want to Dale - but but .. Z - there are more of us! Dale - only one of u runs Z - ..................... I digress, good luck with the sale Dimitri.
