    LOL - i did the same for 12 months then the boot lock broke and I had to break into my own car in the westgate shell car park, got a few odd looks.

    Drivers side is usually the first to go, chances are its just worn out, or the adjustment needs fine tuning You can try swaping it for the passenger side, providing the tounges line up. Otherwise you can get a generic replacement set from you local speed store, I bought mine a few years ago now, think it was $75 for the two. Dale

    Hi Bruce, Not a personal experience but dad got a 1912! Invicta running for someones widow 2 years ago. That went to auction at Bonhams in Melbourne and she was very happy with the result.

    LOL, that was me Rob. Gyra Thats for the complements the car is really starting to come together.     Nissan factory approved the fitment of all L-series motors into all the earlier z series cars back in the 1980s. If your guy is 20 years behind the rules or is that unfamiliar with these cars, then it might just be easier to go else were. After all its his job to know the rules, that is what you are paying him for its not your job ....... These car have been around a long time and if he has not come across one or knows someone in the industy to ask he's probably a crummydoor/fix or repair daily specialiest.

    I have car number 518 and I tracked down to a build date in Mar/Apr 1970. At a stab i would say Jan/Feb 70 would be a reasonably accurate build date for your car.

    I don't know where you leart to do maths Salty, but the standard conversion for the rest of us is 112MPG = 2.1L/100km and 40L/100km = 5.9MPG - using the US gallon 3.785L. NB- you would get a different result using the English gallon of 4.546L
