  2. I have a 260z control arm happy to do a swap Mark for the 240z arm ill bring it in tomorow ,you know where i am.
  3. i can hear it from here its in your head
  4. increasing the advance of ignition timing will increase pressure in the cylinder and does this by compressing the explosion that has already taken place way down in the cylinder ,,but you sacrifice power for it if you go too far, and can blow head gaskets and break the top ring which i have seen on many occasions due to incorrect fuel mixtures, a common symptom of this is brown specks or freckles on the porcelain of the plug, thats a bad thing ,
  5. Fuel quality also plays a big part here as well, some fuels have high levels of butane which accumulate a sooty coating on plugs which can make confusing for setting fuel mixtures and it wont burn off, leaves gummy black deposits on the rear of the car tailights bumper chrome etc, and requires solvent to remove, dosnt do the engine any good either builds up on valves, all our pump fuel is unleaded so no more grey tailpipe tips for checking air fuel strength just black , a engine with 150psi compression i would consider as being a low compression engine provided its N/A a BP5EY is fine , 175PSI and over your into the 6 range, the lower the number the hotter the plug will operate at the higher the number the colder , as the mixture becomes leaner the temperature in the combustion chamber increases as does the energy it produces untill the temperature becomes so high your engine begins to melt, so its important to know where to stop leaning it out, lean mixture colder plug rich mixture hotter plug, ngk book requires a 240z /260z a BP6ES plug if it fouls up theres something wrong
  6. all you have to do is know when you should put your big toe in your big mouth and instead of trying to make out you know everything and your the expert and just have to have the podium position you should keep your trap sealed, that just means one thing too me you cant be trusted so the saying goes you dont just receive respect you have to earn and prove you are worthy of being respected , mostly required in the automotive world, sorry i forgot everyones an expert except Lindsay . Regards,, the biggest dork in the world

    KHGC110 project

hey that looks just like the same shape as my 72 180b sss do they have irs or solid rear axle jeez getting pretty rare now ,nice one
  8. of coarse nothing will align up ,its a lynx manifold, runners probably cover half the intake ports, nobody said you could do it properly and cheap , but if your going to add tripples to your car do it properly and dont skimp out on crappy nasty cheap parts, you will have nothing but problems and it appears to me the way you are going you are just setting yourself up for nothing but on going troubles, get some advice from someone who knows what there talking about and take theyre advice
  9. IS 80 DEGREES TOO HOT MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
  10. what is it that would desire a person to take it upon their own undertaking to remove a vehicle as this car, without the permission of the owner in the first place ??. i couldnt possibly imagine , does this mean that car thieves have now developed a fussy style of classy cars they lift???
  11. I was informed by a technical roads department adviser at vic roads that vehicles that had an engine fitted other than the origonal configuration were not eligable for ch rego ,is this the case, an engineers report should be required for any engine swap anyway, can you shed some light on that ,thanks Allan
  12. Do you have bursons auto parts there, as they have a solvent called , simply solvent B, it cleans residue off and drys leaving no residue, the thermal expansion valve will be the biggest problem as they sieze up when a system has not been used or opened up to the atmosphere at left sitting around and it cannot be cleaned, if it is a old school system dont use R134a as this will blow the system to pieces, hope this helps
  13. Do you need to have a R.W.C for club permit? i think its a bit strange that a certain person has not added any comments to this topic, I " SAY" MMMMM strange boy strange , this is what im talking about, no conformation just rumors making rules up as you go along, dont be surprised that there is a dramatic increase in club permit fees, if this does go a head let the system settle in before registering your vehicle in it as you may find it difficult to get it back on normal reg. Dazzed
  14. I like that , its a nice way of saying that your not the sharpest tool in the shed, i feel for our police department having to arrive at these scenes of carnage knowing that these situations can be avoided, i can tell from experience this is not nice position to be in and its becoming more frequent
  15. yeah great as there needs a lot more focus placed on this issue , you have to check this out thouroughly before you decide what level or category of registration in vic suits you
  16. Do you think regular hoon drivers car should be crushed
  17. in the january ndsoc magazine its talk of a 90 day annuall permit scheme , states your vehicle requires you to fill out a log book and gives you 90 days unlimited use, does unlimited use mean just that or is a ch permit holder still restricted to ndsoc events only ? i hate this topic, i handed my ch plates in for year round freedom someone needs to state all of the rules and regulations applied to ch permit holders instead of making rules up as they go along,
  18. hey Steve when you say hot , what is hot? all engine run hot how hot? does your radiator have a full surround fan shroud, if there is no shroud the fan will not draw air through the radiator, if your engine is running hotter than half on the gauge and has a standard 82 degree thermostat in it putting a cooler thermostat will not help because over half on the gauge the thermostat is open anyway putting a cooler thermostat in will only open earlier than later once open thats it its open ,sorry lurch had to throw it in but the redline is the way tro go for sure
  19. only one of them looks new the rest all look worn out second hand units, are you sure what they are for?
  20. thats a stock pipe , muffler will not suit even a stock 240z , best suited for a 850cc morris minor
  21. why does one of the shockers have all the paint missing???
  22. yep,, i have over a period of time broken 3 cranks, all in the same spot on the crank, even after a lot of meticulouse prep work, and its not due to just 1 thing , its a factor of many , touque is the main one , which is what we all want , the more you have the higher the chance is of something breaking , dont expect a motor that is highly stressed to last for ever it wont , but you can prolong engine component longevity , cryogenics is now widely used in high output racing engines these days, maybe someone else can explain this type of treatment and process .

    Zeds in the Wet

the king springs maybe too high in the rate, do you have a sway bar on the rear , if you do take one of the links on one side out , for a road car softer springs and a small diameter rear bar, all the after market rear bars are 18mm diameter which i found to be too rigid , also if your car is a 71 model does it have the diff in the forward position that can cause all sorts of weird things in the rear
  24. just ruagurgated my dinner on the colour now i have to buy a new lcd screen and surround speakers pewk good luck
