Cars For Sale (3rd Party Sites) Ebay, Carsales etc..
620Z replied to gav240z's topic in Cars For Sale
Man that V8 Zed is cheap. Not sure why no rego. He would have spent well over 50K and countless hours on that. -
Well done to Gav, Lurch and Dimitri. You do know you guys need to get lives. I am looking forward to a drive some time soon. I know it's about the Zeds but I would like to see more of our members cars on the road.

Tutorial: Holden diff fitted to a 240Z

Looks great Peter. -
I am there. Happy to book the Jag Club in Springvale if that is of interest. Otherwise Dimitri happy for you to organise a venue.

I think Alex (Agno) has hit the nail on the head. Lack of social activities. Since our regular meetings sort of died off along with some enthusiasm of some key members we are struggling down here in Vic with the social scene. Getting drives organised seems to lack numbers for what ever reason. Maybe we need to organise another Vic meeting at the Jag Club to get the ball rolling? I am happy to organise if we got enough interest. Admittedly I have dropped off the radar a little. But happy to ramp up the enthusiasm if we get enought interest.

Wow Dave that looks fantastic. I can tell you heat will be an issue as it was for me when I tucked my duel exhause right up into the tunnel. Heat softened the tunnel plate material near my gear box mounts. This created vibration through the whole car so I hope you have reinforced it. Also if you are using standard rubbers in the smae area you will have more problems once they heat up. So change all to noelthane if you haven't already. Thirdly heat in the cabin. I am not sure about coating stainless steel in that coating but if you can do it. If not then you might have to look at heat wrap. No aircon and a hot floor don't make for a good combo. Also I placed about 10mm of sponge rubber through the entire floor of the Zed. This helped for sound and heat in to the cabin. Just some ideas mate. Looking good though.

I might be a goer for this event. Simon just tell the Miss's you have organised a great "Picnic" lunch for her her birthday. Personally I think they should be grateful if we remember.

The only body mod you will need is to strengthen the Chassis. Not cutting needed. Just the odd belting in the tunnel to accomodate the gear box. Hope you have plenty of cash as one thing leads to another etc etc. Or you could buy mine if you had heaps of cash. Ha Ha

Gents, Due to some car problems and other issues we have had a few late withdrawals. Due to reduced numbers we have decided to cancel the weekend away with a view to trying again in a month or so. We are thinking of maybe changing the format to a basic overnight trip to Mt Buller. Leave Sat morning and return via Jamieson road on the Sunday. We will keep you posted as discussions progress and hopefully we can pencil in a new date soon. Cheers Craig

Gents, Still not a lot of discussion on this one. Either way I will be booking my accommodation by the end of this week. Most likely Jodie and I will stay at Gravillia Gardens to make use of the pool after a hot days driving. Looking forward to the trip and catching up with you guys for a weekend of driving, drinking, swimming and talking all things Zed.

OK appologies. Was hoping to get someone else to take Liam to his first baskeball game of the year but I am stuck with it. So I am out. Have a great drive and I am still 100% in for the Bright long weekend. Cheers
-
Lurch if a problem why not re schedule or just wait till our long weekend end of Feb. I am 50/50 for Sat morning atm.
-
Looks great Mick. You have done a massive amount of work on developing that car. Keep it on the black stuff and enjoy. I notice you didn't go for the G-Nose. Keeping it close to traditional. Great car.
-
You can put me down. Gordon is also a 95% starter. Be a good shake down before our trip to Bright end of Feb.

Is it true what they say about electricity prices?
620Z replied to Scottz's topic in Off Topic Discussions
I agree boys. The Government is a joke. Carbon Tax for us but sell it all over seas so everyone else has cheap power while producing mega Carbon more than us. The not have no Carbon tax for aussies but add it to the price of coal sold to others over seas. Ohhh then they might get priced out of the market. That's OK let's just rip off the dumb ass aussies instead. But don't get me stated. -
Good morning gents. Well since not much response from ACT & NSW boys it has been decided we will be travelling to Bright for the 4 day weekend 28th Feb to 3rd of March. eveyone is welcome including you interstaters. Hopefully we can lure some of you down. Similar to last year we will arrive around 2-3 on the Friday. Dome some drives Sat & Sunday and head home Monday. Plenty of eating and drinking and hopefully one of those nights we can set up the BBQ again. Great venue for the BBQ at our accomodation. So I imagine most people will stay there again. Lurch can you put up their details? Thanks This place is another option to stay at. We have stayed here before. It has a pool & Tennis Court and BBQ area. Great place a but a bit more pricey. But we might be able to do a deal if we all stayed there. Sharing a $200- a night room would help some with the 3 night stay. refer below address. http://www.grevilleagardens.com/category/latest-news/featured-article/grevillea-gardens-apartments-are-now-for-individual-sale-strata-titled-for-own-use-andor-holiday-rental-income-a-great-investment/ Attendees are :- Craig & Jodie Lurch John & new girlfriend (Maybe) Wes & Maggie Dale (in his new improved Zed) Bruce (in his revamped Zed) Chris from ACT (You better make the trip and drag a few guys down) Now there was a number of guys at the Xmas BBQ who said they might be in. Can you please chime in and register your name if keen. You will have a ball. We can have a meeting a few weeks before hand to discuss finer datail over a beer in readyness for a great Zed weekend away. In the mean time any questions let us know. Cheers Craig

Wow what a great day. The weather was perfect as was the company. there were some awesome Zeds there as always. We seem to get some new guys with different mods. It astounds me how many variations engine, body etc everyone does to tweak their car to their own personal preference. Truly a great day not to be missed if you a Zed fan. Thanks for having us all over Gordo. Had a ball.

This Global warming is killing us. Ha. At least it is going to be fine tomorrow 26deg. Hopefully it will dry out before 11am ready for the parking. I wanted to get there early, but a prior engagement so I will be there around 12.00 or just after Gordo.
-
OK that is less stress for all. We can just concerntrate on checking out the cars, eating, drinking & chatting. Ha
-
Evo people are normally there till 5 or 6pm. Numbers start thining out around 3-4. Should I be running the usual raffle this year? I haven't gotton a tool kit yet. What are peoples thoughts.
-
OK let's lock in 28th Feb to 3rd March. Can everyone interested make that? Lurch we can discuss further at the Xmas BBQ this Saturday and hopefully lock down some numbers. Chris we will try and get 4 cars from Vic and if so I reckon we try for Thredbo. It's a great area. Would you have many from the ACT interested? Any NSW boys keen if we went there? Let's take it that dates are done and we can lock in a destination in a week or two.
-
OK I think it is time to re visit this event and start getting a location and some dates locked in. (4 day Weekend) Firstly location. As we know Tassie is out. We will do that in 2015. So for 2014 we can either head up to Bright or if we get 4 cars minimum from Vic keen for Thredbo then let's go there. Feel free to chime in and let me know your thoughts. Next a date. I am thinking late Feb or early March. People who are interested in doing this 4 day trip please let me know some preferred dates. Let's try and lock this down before Christmas. Happy motoring all.
-
Sorry to hear about the Gasket Bruce. Let's hope the car is on the road soon. Even ready for this Saturday. I will keep my fingers crossed. You might be spending all your Zed long weekend money for next year? :-\
-
Mick, I got my Tremec 5 Speed TKO600 from Mal Wood brand new for $3,500- or something. All was good when dealing with them and shipping down.

WHICH POWER STEERING FOR 260z 2+2 '77 IS BEST.?????????????
620Z replied to hotdog's topic in Suspension
Well a Subaru conversion worked OK for me. there are a few details on this site. The conversion cost me over $2,500- and I did a bit of running around for that as well. You won't get change out of 3K if someone is doing the whole box & dice for you. You need to decide how committed you are to the Zed before going ahead or just put up with it like most on here. I have never ever heard of a 240Z or 260Z with light steering.
