  1. this looks heaps better than what i was going to do using 303cc supra injectors. are you running an aftermarket ecu or standed as i was wanting to change the air flow meter and throttle body with whilst using standed ecu i, also the injection looks heaps tidier with all the pollution crap gone. cheers pauly
  2. i might be interested in some pics of your setup is there any chance of you posting up some pics. cheers pauly
  3. this may help http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,4530.msg41213.html#msg41213
  4. it depends on what turbo you are going to use if your using t28 which is usually a very common upgrade for skylines and 300zx you would use a t28 flange, if you use a t3 or t3t4 hybrid you would use a t3 flange and so on and so forth. if you dont mind telling what engine is it for most cases you can just upgrade to a single turbo. hope this helps cheers pauly
  5. hey all my old 280zx is up for sale now so if you want her make an offer otherwise its evil bay. she has no engine including efi or brake master cylinder the rest is there all electrics work including most gauges all round she is in quite good condition inside and out pics and info can be found here http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5991.msg61730.html#msg61730 i will not part her out due to her condition due to the small amount of rust and the condition of the interior. i may consider a swap for a 260z 2+2 parts car if most bits are there. cheers pauly
  6. sorry thats what i was refering too my 260z 2+2 has belts mounted to the trans tunnel i dont see why you couldnt do the same with a 280zx just do me a favour and check the steel cable that holds the belt buckle to the fixing point as both mine had snapped and where just holding on by a strand. cheers pauly
  7. dont see why not you would need to weld a nut under the body for the bolt to go into other than that i would presume it would be fine.
  8. dude trying to read that was a complete mind f!!k and I'm only 22 , but i think i have the gist of it. i have had a problem very similar to you what you will need to do is get cylinder 1 at top dead centre this can be done by 1) disconnecting the lead from your coil to your dizzy 2) taking the spark plug out and holding your finger over the hole and having someone crank the car but only in little taps it you will have a burst of air come out of it at this point stop 1 cylinder has just fired ( it turns clock ways from memory) from there place the dizzy cap over the dizzy and see where the rotor button is pointing it should be right on or just past a connector on the dizzy cap where the spark plug lead goes in this will be your cylinder one on your dizzy work from there in your firing order going clock wise and presto your problem should be sorted. cheers Pauly
  9. you need the turbo ecu from what i have read. thats why locking the standard dizzy seems a good alternative
  10. You can always use a turbo dizzy but there a bit hard to come by they have no vacume or mechanical advance
  11. yeh you will still need to do this as it still will advance mechanicaly
  12. the idea like the last two said is to stop it from advancing too much. if you use an unlocked dizzy you will have 8 degrees at idle plus your 15 degrees from the vacuum this will drop a little once the boost pressure goes up and then upwards of 20 degrees off your mechanical this will cause detonation almost instantly at anything high then about 5 psi and then it never ends well. from what i have read you can weld the weights in the dizzy in place or use a locking plate. the other thing i thought of is to remove the weights altogether can anyone confirm if this will work or will it just cause more issues as it may then become out of balance at high rpm. cheers pauly
  13. hey all i thought idd bring this thread back up due to me doing a l28e to l28ET swap what i have in mind for the moment is. L28ET exhaust manifold and l28 turbo standed l28e efi manifold throttle i was going to use standed for now but I'm open to ideas ecu will be standed for the moment standed air flow meter for the moment 303cc Toyota supra injectors just too be on the safe side 90 psi turbo fuel pump fuel pressure regulator l28e dizzy from a 79 280zx with locked mechanical advance I'm thinking i should run a blow off valve but unsure of legality so there is my list I'm pretty sure that's it is there anything I'm missing i will only be running 5 too 7 psi boost also how would i go about registration will it need to be engineered or will it pass a blue slip. cheers Pauly
  14. get yourself a 300zx z32 gearbox doesnt matter wether its turbo or na there the same box they can handle over 500hp and 700 foot pounds of torque you will need a good clutch though. cheers pauly
  15. 13.8 to 14.7 is fine that will not be the problem i had the same issue turned out it was my battery it charged fine and metered fine but due too the cold weather at night the battery would go to crap.
  16. please facebook this so i can laugh all day
  17. I seen a old friend yesterday and he says there off a old rover v8 don't no if this is true but they are good carbs
  18. I wish i had seen this earlier as those carbs are brilliant I have a set and they have ballbareing shafts and piston as for response they are awesome who ever bought got a steal I would have loved another set
  19. I have a 300 piece sp kit I'm a apprentices fitter and I can say the quality is really good arches are real good so are spares and screwdriver also they have a lifetime warranty and sp are really good with there warranty I had a socket that had a score mark in it and for giggles I took it back and they replaced it with no questions. Please do not buy kingchrome sockets or Stanley if you want it too last as there made in China now and we all know how that Chinese steel is. Cheers pauly
  20. i think my zed could catch tin worms by just looking at that, what the add should say is datsun 260z 2+2 hatch glass with free rust. lol cheers pauly
  21. or the worst case scenario is you have blown a head gasket like i did. my gasket blew between the 5th cylinder and a water jacket. this was causing fumes and all sorts of crap to go into the cooling system it also had these symptoms. just smell your coolant you will know if this has happened as i did cause your coolant will smell like fuel. cheers pauly
  22. yes you can if the car is station at a residential house in nsw it can be registered my brother just went throught this with his bike because it was a written off bike and in vic you need a engineers cert before he can register it so like i said, he put down that the bike resides at my adress registed his bike in nsw then transfered to vic.
  23. if you cant get one over the next couple of days just pm me as i may be able to get you one but the problem is i live in albury nsw
  24. is there an engine number attached to your compliance plate as my 260z 2+2 does not have one it just has the chasie number, type of car and year of manufacturing mines a 77 model. other than that register it in nsw and go into vic roads and you can transfer it over to vic and you dont even need a inspection a little loop hole. cheers pauly
