  1. thats just brilliant, those rims must be made out of titanium, i once supermaned a road bike over a decent size jump i landed sweet as but my rims where far from happy, fun ride home though with a wobly rim

  3. all fixed thanks guys, i managed to sretch 2 bolts and break another so i will be ordering new head bolts thankfully though i had a spare set from my L26 i will post up some picks of the head gasket its a bit of a mess im supprised the thing was still running
  4. yeh i was thinking helicoil, i have seen these new ones call "time serts" and am thinking of giving them a try as there a full case hardend bush any one used them before ?
  5. hey guys, after a blown head gasket i thought i would rip th head off and replace it, thats where the pain started. when removing the head one of the head bolts snapped leaving about 12mm below the blocks surface, i tryed everthing to get it out easy outs, heat welding a nut on etc nothing worked so i resorted in drilling through the center of the bolt until it was thin enough to get it out with a tap which actully worked but the drill bit did damage a small section of the thread, so after all that i went through and cleaned out all the head bolt holes in the block all full of crud also then cleaned block and head then went to bolt it back down. i started to torque the bolts and got to the 2nd stage and the previously extracted bolt hole gave way and the block stripped. so what is the "best" method to fix the thread in the head stud hole as it is getting turboed and i dont want it stripping again cheers pauly

  8. i can confirm that a 260z 2+2 with minmal mods can do over 225km/h using both speedo and gps as a gauge that was at 5800rpm- 6000rpm
  9. try a z32 pump from a turbo model, a mate has done it once before and apparenly works well
  10. for a series 1 or 2, im fairly certain my series 1 only has the single plug, you can also just put resistors inline with injectors if you cant get one
  11. hey scott, ring the ato help line or the person in charge of your case, i have been told but dont hold it to me if a tax practiconer has lodge a form that is not satusfactory he may be eligible for the full amount, you have done the right thing by getting all of your records back, i would be going to a new accountant, and get them to go over the whole thing with a fine tooth comb, then i would lodge a amendment of the previous years tax if you find any discrepencies, as 1 small mistake made by the tax agent can cause thousends of $$$$$ and this can be fixed. if your accountant was at fault due to a error stick it to him for damages and any fines asociated. the people at the ato generaly are good people and cop alot of flack from people due to errors made by accountants and the accountants can be held responsable for the issue. try not to stress and if there is a issue and you do owe money and cannot pay expain why, you may find that your troubles will fade, unfortunatly you may still have to pay the money back but they may be able to deduct it out of this years tax. im feel for you and im sorry i cant help more or give better advice, just hang in there and take it one day at a time and things will work themselfs out. goodluck pauly

  13. it is if your stock one has a cracked diaphram lol, it happend to mine it definatly had a 20hp gain after it was replaced
  14. i must also agree putting on su's will not realy benafite your setup that much, it mainly to do with the tune, my L26 with su's never came into play until about 3k rpm then it was ballsy as, my efi is the same aroud 2500-3000rpm i get decent power. the only carb that was good for down low torque was my 350 holley but it was terrible in higher rev range and used alot of fuel on highway driving. hope this helps

  17. i just got a greddy emanage ultimate ecu, it is a piggy back system and it will even work with a L28e stock computer, you can control fuel etc with it but not timing due to the dizzy i got mine rediculously cheap but you can get them on ebay for $600 and with the use of a wide band it can self tune
  18. ill second exedy HD clutch, they have a nice pedal and it is not hard like many others, mine was in a daily for 3 years and was softer then most falcons

  20. wow ive started a full auto trans thread, in other news i now have a new ecu i ended up with a greddy semi pigyback system so the work begins next week
  21. if i hadnt already done mine i would be all over this like a fat kid on a cup cake, mine now has HD clutch packs, bands etc all brand new as i was going to use it to tow, i will be looking into a new torque convertor as im sure the facotry wont last long. its not a power hungry car but it will have a couple of hundred poneys and a bit more torque. the only concern i have is the crap design of the n42 head, it is far from ideal but it also has just been rebuilt with new valves seats etc so im keen to use it for the moment. as for my setup it will be sard 550cc top feed injectors which are 2 months old holset hx35w turbo charger f54 turbo manifold from the states f54 block with dished pistons, N42 head both of which where rebuilt under 30k km engine management, Rb30e wiring, dizzy, greddy piggy back ecu in combination with rb30e ecu, or haltech e6x ecu or possibly sprint 500 front mount intercooler depending on air temps it will be running to start with 8-12 psi and once everthing is clocked in and tuned i might try to get to 15-17 psi but im fairly certain that the n42 head will not allow this without major timing retading.
  22. ive already got onto rb30x lol, and a oil cooler will be added. only thing left is engine management, haltech e6x or vl loom dizzy and ecu with greddy piggy back ecu which actully controls everthing

  24. hey all, does anyone have any idea on how much power the factory 3 speed from a 280zx can take, im just about to get the last of my turbo parts this week and my auto is in awsome condition and i realy dont want to kill it
  25. spacers are a no no, and you will need the carbon canister, the rest should be fine even the tip and the fan. as for brakes they didnt even notice mine when i got mine blue sliped all they said is gee there big brakes, i just said "yeh they are" no more question where asked
