  1. i love the blue interior it rocks and still looks good, i think the red is terrible it looks so retro 80's. i got my series one a couple of years back and it had 400k km on the clock it was almost rust free except the doors, much to my delight it had engine, gbox, diff, suspension all just done it drives like a dream and next week it will be a weapon as i will have the last of my turbo stuff

  3. i was just the tps, it must have had some moisture in it, i just sprayed some wd40 in there, blew out with air cleaned terminals re set and its now fine i might start making up a efi trouble shoot due to so many issues ive had. there finaly all fixed the last was a fuel pressure reg
  4. i forgot to mention that at wide open throttle it is fine has plenty of power and doesnt miss when the tps is connected but is lacking power when it is not connected as i thought it would
  5. hey all, my 280zx is having some issues with hesitation from 2000rpm upwards i is very lumpy, it is like its hitting a rev limiter, i checked all connectors etc there all fine although i found that when i disconnect my tps (throttle possition sensor) it runs fine but is realy lacking power. i swaped over the tps and still no luck, i adjusted them to spec and still no go. does anyone have any idea what would be causing this as its driving me mad. cheers pauly
  6. well it looks tidy and well looked after, i would be asking the lowest they would go first, if the paint is original and thats all the rust it would prbo be a good buy. the engine bay being dirty dont worry about it as for the sensor they are cheap or free just ask some of the guys on the forum. if it where me at 3k i would buy it, it is mostly original, paint is original so you wont find many hidden nasties and to top it all off it has the awsome 280zx interior blue and light grey just like mine not the horrible red. hope this helps. if you want some more advice just give me a call on.   7. its just the throttle sensor causing this i know as it happend on mine yesterday, as for rust around filler cap i just repaired one and it was not good, does the car have original paint?
  8. try getting 1mz pistons from a v6 camry, they are 87.5mm stock bore and have a realy nice crown nice and thick, they are about 51mm long but the only problem is they have a 24mm piston pin
  9. it depends on the power you want a stroker L28 is good no mods needed, L28et or turbo L28 no structural mods but plenty of others, rb 30 and 20det can bolt strait up but sits a little further forward. i am going L28et personally as i only want about 250-300 rear horsepower which is well within its capibility.
  10. as a weekend cruser the 260z would be better as they are a bit more grumpy and more fun, but if you are ever considering it as a daily get a 280zx i have both these cars and the 280zx is much nice to drive on highways etc. it will realy come down to you personally i much prefer my 260z for windy stuff but all round my 280zx is much nicer. on a side note post some pics of them and if you do buy a 280zx get some series one tail lights they look heaps better
  11. what are the pistons going in, there are actully more then just those pistons, you have vg30 out of a cima, a z31 300zx sohc, z32 dohc, maxima, im sure there are even more the maxima the cima and the z31 are similar the z32 i have no idea but i do no you can use z32 pstons and rods in a z31 so best be is ring acl
  12. if your head gasket is blown my guess would be its between 5-6 its more common then you think due to cooling issues with these cylinders, but then again it could be like mine and i blew 2x headgaskets in 12 months it was due to head warpage. i would just swap the engine out with help if its a manual running carbs you can have it done in 4 hours out and in, if its a auto it takes a bit longer. if possible get someone who has done a engine pull in a s30 before, if you cant get a friend and just follow the user manual.
  13. either way works they do blow gaskets every now and again, just put the L26 in then repair the L24 and drop it back in, doesnt take long to fix and doesnt take long to swap so either way will work.
  14. i have some alfa gtv gt2000 dellortos, they are 40mm and where working but do need a rebuild as one is leaking a little
  15. o well they will work on my other engine i already have a set of turbo injectors. just thought $25 i cant complain just got a spare set now

  17. try the adelaid z car wreckers as posting a flywheel can be expensive, worse case i have one here in albury but like i said postage is the killer

  19. hey everyone, i just purchased these injectors http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/370556116612?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 on a whim as i thought they may be top feed sr20 injectors, or rx7 injectors can anyone one confirm this for me. cheers pauly.

  22. use a diff from a z31 fairlady, it is a r200lsd, it has thicker half shafts etc. if you where to go to the extent of cutting etc i would use a z32 diff and shafts, they ar far stronger then the skyline ones
  23. i aculy think its around the other way manuals run r180 and autos run r200, thats what my z's are like
