    WTB: Flywheel

as a last resort i have a spare in albury
  13. yep dont try with carbs ive been there and done that, go efi so much easier, also a TD04 from a saab is way too small of a turbo for a z, the factory one is almost too small, the turbo you would want will be a t3t4 hybrid a gt35r or a holset hx35
  14. i might take the skirts but i will have to organise to get to bendigo if thats ok
  15. i have not fitted one but the goss pumps always seem to be good condition i dought you would have any issues at all
  16. Engine type: L28 Size: 2.9 Tank: 55L KLM to Tank: 550-650 on highway 350-400 in town L/100K 8-10 Carb: brittish su's 1.75" made for rollsroyce full ball bearing runner shafts and butterflies
  17. when you hear a RB turbo vs a L28et you may change your mind but the price on that L20 is a joke
  18. all i have to say is Rapid fix it, i used it on some plastics it is an awsome product i highly recomend
  19. nope i didnt weld the weights as the dissy will be getting removed anyway, the z31 dissy runs the opticle sensor so with the greddy ecu i can control both timing and fuel as well as not needing a AFM and self tuning with the wideband, im not willing to push it just yet not until i get everything on and set up correctly, as for compression its estimated at 8:1 with the combination of the gaskets and the larger cc of the pistons. im not after a masive power, the engine will most likely never get boosted past 14psi , i always run premium 98 in all my cars so fuel is not so much the issue. power that im after is about 350hp at the rear which with the setup going in is more then achiveible. i may change the head to a P90 but with mild porting the N42 flows realy well, im maily shooting for nice driveability and reliability thats why i have gone a bit overkill with the ecu, injectors and turbo. i will keep you posted with the z31 dizzy and ecu conversion its looking to be quite strait forward with only needing to make a bush up for the dissy. cheers pauly
  20. sorry about the crappy night pics.
  21. well i decided after a blown head gasket to bring all the goodies out of the shed and start bolting them on, so to start. i was scrolling through the parts system at work for a head gasket and much to my excitement i also found that i could get a head shim so i orded it thinking it would be much the same as all the others at 0.2mm, it turns out i was wrong it was 1.5mm after it was compressed so after a quick inspection of my internals of the engine it turns out they are all brand new not just second hand, it has new rods bearing and 1.5mm oversized pistons and to top it all of the block has beautiful hone marks in there. so after many hours of wrestling with the engine i got everything bolted on for the first start up much to my amazement i turned the key and it ran first turn of the starter. so the current setup which is not ideal and will be fixed this week coming is as follows, fully rebuilt N42 head that has mild porting fully rebuilt F54 block with new rods and deep dished 1.5mm oversized pistons has a L28E dissy set to 5 degrees BTDC rising rate FPR running 40psi stock and 60psi at boost standed airflow meter standed injectors (these will be replaced first thing in the morning with 280cc turbo ones) turbo manifold is a F54 and a stock 280zx turbo what will be going in over the next 2 weeks z31 turbo ecu, wiring and distributor greddy ultimate ecu (piggyback system) map sensor for the greddy ecu so i dont need a maf sensor wideband O2 550cc sard injectors brand new top feed and to top it all off it will be running a Holset hx35w turbo from a cummins truck here is a small video of its first run cheers pauly
  22. im digging those side skirts what condition they in
  23. i agree looks like a 32 36 dgv
  24. if you post some pics of the top of it it will help a lot i would say its a 36 36 from a falcon more then likely but a top pic will help
  25. welcome to the forum, theres nothing like having a grandpa sleeper there great, what sort of parts you looking at getting as im looking at getting a L28 turbo ecu wiring and loom from the states but no one is willing to post them.
