very tempting.....
-
Including that one in the pic I counted 5 in total in just that one shot......nice to have a collection like that I bet.....only if the $$ and space would have allowed me to keep the zeds that have passed through my garages over the years Someone got a good purchase by the look....however I did here of what was a mint one here in NZ that sold for over $30K has since been found to be rust in a few places so sometime things can be well hidden.
-
Well mine is green (well was and will be again) but the block is silver does that count
-
No only the early girls have those cable connections - the pedal is not a strong also as I bent mine in my 240z that had one of these early pedals. The 260z pedal is much beefier.
-
I think he means .... looking at your signature you have a 2+2 and this shaft will be for a 2 seater = too short = mods = just do your own for the $$

depends on spec but here is what I do know. Road car was rated at 160HP vs 150HP for the 240z and 400cc less. Race cars well that is a different ball game 250HP was the reported output back in the day ie 1970 so not bad for a 2000cc. You can get 2.2 stoker kits in Japan these days for the S20 engine so I would think this would make a little more. Big $$ for these S20 engine hence why some of us are doing the N/A RB setup cheaper and have the feel of the original at a lot less $$ One day that lotto ticket will come in (must purchase ticket to win though) and I will fly to Japan and see if I can purchase a real 432z....dreams are free at least....well for now until the govt find a way to tax that too.
-
My RB that I purchase from Japan was painted the Nissan Blue over the stock black. Like you I like to see if I have an oil leak etc. So I decided on a colour like the original 432 S20 block - a bright silver. Here is pic for reference - The odd colour is the acid etch primer under the silver this was fixed on the following coats we just missed this first time around.
-
Or Classiczcars I think he visits there more often. His 432 has to be the best example I have seen on the net - and one day if I ever get the chance to visit Japan I think a visit to view his cars in the flesh would be well worth it.
-
hmm that TC24-B1 is just zporn alright. As for the silver 432 - Kat must be a proud zed owner that's for sure to have 2 of the best examples on the plant.
-
Sure is. Pics of how I want my zed to look like....what a minutes it is my zed All flares now finally finished and paint purchased so a few months it should be home (only gets work done on the weekends) I should get some newer pics

A shocker alright - been on the news here all day in NZ. NZ govt has offered 100 NZ fire fighter to fly over and relieve - they can go in 48 hours notice and are waiting for the call. Be safe all in Vic

Welcome to the world of zed Kent yes that is correct some don't have the demister lines. Then there those that have them vertically and others that have them horizontal - lots to learn but you will get there

Agreed - funny that coming from the 2 guys with EFI Hardware kit I think EFI Hardware is a good value for money kit, it is locally made (supporting local business etc, and for me in NZ purchasing from AU is still supporting a local business if you ask me, hell I spend 30% of my work time working for AU ) The GTR thing is a good idea but I have a GTR head with all that kit and I have removed it for triple EFI Hardware DCOE setup. There a number of reason why but here a few 1. If the local race rule don't want me to run EFI not problem I can bolt up DCOE carbs 2. A result of the EFI Hardware DCOE the injector is relocated further away from the cylinder head = better for performance (not good for economy or emissions - like I care about that it is a sports car for god sake) 3. To be different (like a NA powered RB26 hybrid is not different enough) 4. My car I can do what I like I guess I could put down the cons now 1. extra $$ 2. can't use the stock clutch cylinder that I could have if I stuck with the GTR setup - it fowls on the trumpets 3. extra $$ So back to the topic of the extruder body EFI setup - the same could apply a pro and con list. Pro 1. ITB coolness 2. Already setup for you 3. Already setup for you....(I think of any more really) Con 1. Cost - wow $1950 USD = $4000 NZD + shipping :'( 2. No injectors included :'( 3. No trumpets :'( 4. No Engine included for $1950 USD Hell I purchased my complete RB25/26 NA hybrid from Japan and this was complete ECU, GTR plenum and ITB, SS header/extractors, GTR injectors, 6 puck clutch and lightened flywheel, 5sp RB20DET box with close ratio gear set and quick shifter, Tomie metal head gasket, fully balanced bottom end, HKS adjustable cam gears, high lift HKS cams all for the same $$ ie 4000NZD. All I really needed to do was install the rear sump and pickup, modify the header slightly to fit in the S30 chassis and wire in the supplied harness (however this is not what I will be doing - as I already had the EFI Hardware DCOE and LINK ECU I am going to change things a little and it should make more power) Anyway my point that is a lot of $$ for just the ITBs you still need ECU, injectors and if you want trumpets those too. So if it was me - I would just purchase some new EFI Hardware DCOE ITB's mount on a L6 triple manifold and with the spare $$ vs this setup purchase the ECU, injectors and get it running

Would be nice if they were they rare metal ones but alas they are the plastic units - and the second set are already spoken for

-
Yes that would be cool - I have a Japanese mag which has a PS30 aka 432 and this guys has PS30-00432 nice.

L31 Stroker Parts available in New Zealand

That crank of mine has been sitting covered in oil/grease in the garage for a year or two so you could have had in July - although was not thinking of selling it then but everything can be for sale at the right price. If you want LD28 stuff - keep an eye out on trademe.co.nz whole engine go for $500 NZD and from time to time a crank for $250. I think I have some plywood that I could make box up for the crank - will add some weight to the already heavy 20KG but would be a safer bet for shipping or luggage anyway. -

The only issue with a crank and hand luggage is damage - I am not an engine expert so maybe someone else can comment - but don't want to get it bent by some rough luggage handlers and conveyor system. So I think the best option might be in a container with a bunch of Spa's -

lol once I took the following items with me to the UK 1 x Datsun 5 spd gearbox (dog leg pattern for A series aka 1200) = 23KG 1 x Datsun twin SU on oval port manifold for a A series 2 x Datsun 160J 710 rear side glass And all that was in the same trip but that was only because I was also going to the USA and they have larger weight limits (did not tell them at check in that I would be leaving some 32KG in UK) There are no current plans for a visit to Melbourne - but I am sure there will be one trip sometime this year so if you are in no hurry the old hand luggage trick can work - might have to make a trip to keep my airpoint status up above qantas gold membership -
When I was at the track last year my clutch slave failed - went to the closet auto-parts place and asked for a 240z, 260z, 280zx unit = no listing. So I asked the guy for a Skyline unit - he told me - "never work mate wrong car". I said just give me what I asked for. Back at the track - fitted no problems and still going strong for the new owner for the 240z. So if you can't find a 240z/260z ask for a Skyline unit same bore size and mounting etc.

No you got all the L14 rods I had......however I know of a guy who might have an L14. Maybe if these cranks get to Oz with out too much trouble maybe us Kiwi's can keep an eye out for the good ones that go for around $200AUD, you have to be careful as some have done high KM and snouts can get damaged. Most of these damaged snouts can be repaired but that will cost some $$ so these crank would go for less ie $150 AUD or even as low as $100AUD. The issue these days is most LD28 forsale are complete engines and they are going for around $450AUD and cranks by them selves don't come up too often. -

You have to quick around here - already got a name on it but if he pulls out (not likely) it is all your gav for same price as Kerry's one $200AUD - arrange your own shipping. Just a word of warning with regards to shipping stuff in container, been there done that, make sure the site the container is going to has the correct custom clearance for car parts if the items have to be listed in the manifest. It cost me a packet to have one of our container from work shipped to a different yard to have the container cleared as our site did not have the correct custom clearances. However if I put down on the manifest that car parts were new not used all this would not have happened. Live and learn - most of the parts were new apart from 2 x 260z front hubs which I could have placed in hand luggage and swapped out for the new brake rotors I had in my hand luggage (but I was not sure how long it would take to get the container from Melbourne to Auckland and I needed the rotors to get the old 240z back on the road) So just check it all out before you make the call on the "just stick it in the container from work trick" don't learn the hard way like me - those rotors and hub ended up costing a packet
