That looks correct to me - 240z and 260z 2 seaters use the same badge The 2+2 is very different.

Nice, neat, tidy - I like the effort you have done to make the leads look like that Mike

Would that be the same Neil C that sold a BMW harmonic balancer setup for the L6 many years ago also - a few made it over to this side of the ditch and are still going strong many many years later - ok rebuild/new engines but the same balancer setup that was purchase from one Neil C of VIC.

Me too. Well did spend 1 hour in the shed today (around 4pm local time) so just in from the test fit up. I needed to do some minor mods to the top housing as it was placing the stock over sleeve/tube too close to the wheel so the indicator dowels on the back of the hub were hitting the stock bearing = hub not mating up correctly. I needed to ease about 4mm out of the stock mount (see post #132 above the part I am talking about is #6) so the stock tube would move down over the stock Suzuki column some more. Now just waiting for the under coat on this part to dry off and later in the week - top coat time and mount up - I will connect up a battery/fuse and give it a test too - never know might have to make my first Youtube video so you can see it working - but its really going to be hard to tell with no load on the rack so the video might have to wait until the car is more together.

Very interesting project - and a world first I bet - we know of the RB20E head conversion I showed on this site before, you do have to ask why the RB20E head is not that good - so that project was more about looking like a LY cross flow head would be my guess. However this project that Peter is under taking is very very different. The RB26 head flows very very well in stock form - you could say too much for a small cc NA car I am interested to see how this project goes as I am sure many other on this site. Peter well done for giving this a go. Interesting to see you converting to a belt drive too. Watching to see how you over come the water and oil gallery issues that will be the other interesting engineering of this engine build.

If no-one can help get a new one from Nissan part number is as follows Front stud 240/260z = 40222-22001 They are 32mm long for the fronts and 39mm long for the rears. I have installed rears on the front on my zed. Rear partnumber if someone want to know is Rear stud 240/260z = 40222-A0800 I have a list of other partnumbers and lengths if interested I can post.

RB Skyline = new gearbox mount and bellhousing swap. Leaver in stock location - however the 71C leavers are usually straight vs 71B which bend back = Whittie found this caused him issue on the track. SR/CA box = new gearbox mount, bellhousing swap and a shorter drive shaft. Does move the leaver back 50mm IIRC.

Group buy ATI Super Dampers / Harmonic Balancers
NZeder replied to luvemfast's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
would they do the RB one in the same GB? -
Not surprised really - different market, different legal requirements, also different division of Nissan etc. So US decals made in US for US, OZ made in OZ for OZ (ie that ADR plate you guys have that we don't have or need - well back in the 70-80's)
-
My guess would be the a factory Emission decal. This would have timing info on it etc. It could have also be the info on the coolant to run - but with it so faded who knows. Example of some of the many decal see here http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/SE11 But this would be my best guess at what is was like - but Oz spec related not US like this example. Again I have not seen any of these type of decal on NZ new zed - we did not have any emission standard back then so none of this warning...meets this and that stuff was required. You purchased a sports car - and burnt up petrol. I guess these decals were the beginning of PC world we live in these days where everything has to be labelled and you know it meets standard x and y blah blah..... What happened to just driving a car anyway back on topic...

factory ones only no other compliance plate required for NZ.....that is what has me so confused as Nissan never put an ID plate on the car that stated it was an Auto or a Manual.

Arizona Z Car - Rear Brake Handbrake Redesign
NZeder replied to Woza01's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
Try old school - pick up the phone I am sure you will find he will be helpful -
Well that is not a stock Nissan tag - that will be why never seen one before - but then most zed I have owned have not been Oz zed but NZ or UK export models. These are the only factory ID tags so that must be some Oz ADR thing.
-
That must be an Ozzie ADR thing - Nissan never put it there.

If you convert to manual you don't have to keep all the auto stuff. There is no way to know if the car was a factory Auto or Manual as this was not marked on the car. So unless you have the original sales docket that shows it was an Auto no one would be any wiser. Nissan did not keep records from what we know so far - so RS30-015123 (or whatever) was not recorded as an auto or manual anywhere. Re colour - whatever you like - your car at the end of the day mine was 240 metallic green but it was resprayed when I got it a few shades lighter. It is now non metallic 907 GP Green a factory 240z colour only used 70-71.

Nice wheels and nice second zed. I should have kept my second zed

makes my J30 Maxima control unit look like......well.....? House (4 letter word begins with S ends with T) One things for sure - makes me want to wire-up mine and test it out on the bench too now....hmm what time to is finish work tonight.....time to leave early.....thanks for the inspiration

Nice looking Bus you have there love the colour - but I am biased - love a green zed many don't which is good - make ours rarer just for the colour it wears ;)

And some more bad cell phone pics 1. Modified Firewall mount 2. Custom bearing holder/sleeve - you can see were the grub screws go to hold/lock to the Suzuki lower shaft (NZ does not permit any welding to the steering components other than those the factor has done) 3. Suzuki lower shaft with Zed steering coupler jointed via new U-J. C-Clip must be installed before sleeve/bearing holder is insatlled or you can't get it on after the fact 4. Custom bearing holder/sleeve installed - good tight interference fit + grub screws to hold things tight (not installed yet - need to pick some up this week) More pics will come once I put top coat on the firewall mount - sometime soon

Ok did not get a lot done today - but did get some coats of paint on parts before the Hamilton race started on the box. Anyway here are some pics. 1 = All the parts as listed. 1. Suzuki Wagon R Electric Assist Column 2. Cut down 260z outer steering column tube 3. Custom sleeve/bearing holder for Suzuki lower shaft 4. Modified Suzuki lower shafts - modified at the Uni-Joint - had Uni replaced and joined the steering couple mount of the stock Zed shaft when installing the new U-J 5. Stock Suzuki Uni-Joint for mounting lower shaft to column 6. Stock 260z pedal box mounting plate - bolts to pedal box and #2 shown 7. Modified 260z firewall mount - new centre tube to hold bearing/sleeve and Suzuki lower shaft 8. Bearing and C-Clips for holding the sleeve/Suzuki lower shaft in Firewall housing/mount
