  2. Could be it here on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240z-1969-240z-production-number-383-COLLECTORS-VERY-RARE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ011QQitemZ320265771006QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  3. Hi Everyone, If you are posting links to cars listed on ebay, it would be greatly appreciated if you could: 1.) Post the Ebay Item Number (usually located in the top right hand corner), along with the Ebay link. Sometimes ebay links are not reliable or don't work properly so including an item number is an easy way for others to look up the item if the link is broken. 2.) When the ebay listing is finished, if you could post the sale price and or the highest bid (if the item does not sell). If others are not watching an item, we cannot visit the item at a later stage easily so we cannot tell what it sold or didn't sell for. 3.) If possible save a few photo's from the auction and post them here. This is useful because it gives everyone an indication of current values and what you get for your money if you are looking to buy or sell. This will help us all, for insurance reasons we have some proof of current values. For selling it helps us gauge our cars true worth and for curiosity sake we can compare year on year the values of our cars etc.. If anyone has further suggestions to this, please feel free to share them here.
  4. Yeah same, I was cringing when the van was tapping the bumper of the Z. I was like nooooo that's the weak spot on the Z, don't damage that area.
  5. Let off some steam Bennet! I don't recall an early Z. I remember a red and yellow Porsche in a parking lot though.
  6. She should have been able to outrun that POS Van, women drivers lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nH2koVXuDlM
  7. Yeah I got one of these a year or two ago. Great catalogue and very tempting to buy Z bits .
  8. When it comes to crankshafts, or bottom end work. I believe that blue printing (balancing the rotating assembly) is a good idea for reliability, if you don't plan on racing your Z its probably not that necessary (depending on power you want to achieve).

  10. Yeah I've always been under the impression that the L26 and L28 are the same crank, its the L24 that is shorter. The L28 block is a bigger bore and therefore the reason Nissan went with the new design block. The L24 / L26 blocks were P30 stamped from memory. You could overbore your L26 and get it to 2.8 fairly safely (at least I believe so). So the answer your query, yes CC won't change unless you overbore. What are you trying to achieve, perhaps we can help suggest some mods? I know that Alan "260coupe" recently built a "budget" l26 with some modest results.
  11. I'm sure one of our members has installed an aftermarket kit. Given the temperature of summers in Australia I'm sure there are a few suppliers of quality kits to suit.
  12. Hi Noe? is it? I would say your best bet it to fit an aftermarket unit. Your location indicates Florida so your in the US, and I would guess that you are best off looking for somewhere locally. The original kits are not very good or effective from what I have heard. Best of luck. By the way is there any reason why this post is a poll?
  13. Looks good to me. Nice asking price for an early 240z and looks relatively complete and original. Definately worth a further look. Everytime someone posts a 240z for sale I want to buy it. I think I'm sick.
  14. Agree They are very synonymous with Australia. Reminds me of the V8 supercars in the late 80's early 90's . Still can't go wrong with a set of Simmons I think. Classic wheels.
  15. Craig is right, lightening the crank is not an ideal thing to do. I don't know if a machine shop would actually do that for you? Balancing it yes, but the standard crank is pretty well balanced from the factory. In fact you won't gain much as Craig stated. You could shot peen it for extra durability but I honestly don't think you need to in a street car. You can buy a crankshaft from http://www.kameariusa.com/L6_3_1_Crankshaft.php if you got deep pockets . Even those are 22kg. I can't recall the weight of a standard crank but they are fairly heavy from memory.
  16. Those gearbox parts are very porn! Good to know you can get some of that stuff for the old L-series. It is L-series gbox parts right?
  17. Ben, can you get other JDM wheels like SSR and Watanabe? I'm not in a position to buy (unless its an offer I can't refuse) right now, but it would be good to know someone who can obtain this stuff.
  18. More speculation than Ramsay St on Neighbours .

The beast is almost ready, have you driven it yet?
  20. I don't think they check in on our website that often. best off voicing your concerns here: http://www.japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1562
  21. Not to mention if you pick an unreliable mechanic, it could take months or even years for it to be finished. You really do save a lot of heartache buying one already done and certified. If you can do it yourself more power to you. Remember its not the cost of the motor, you'll have brakes to upgrade / suspension. Emissions tests (depending on the year of Z) and wiring / troubleshooting etc.. Not to deter you, but there really are some headaches involved. If I wasn't going overseas I would have very closely considered buying Steve's (RB30ZED)'s old red car. RB30 block 25 head Naturally Aspired. Now I believe it's owned by ZedLS1 on here. My advice is to try and buy one that's already been done. Either that or consider driving one with an L-series for a while and see if you like it.
  22. LOL mine has about 200 . Has anyone had luck with polishing them out? O'h O'h O'h, O'Brien maybe?
  23. Yeah Ben, c'mon lets put an article together . I'm getting sick of the front page, needs an updated featured ride. Let me know if I can do anything to help. Nice burnout btw, would of liked to see a 1/4 mile run though .
  24. Hi Guys, Kinda in a rush with this reply so keeping it short. We have considered affiliation with NDSOC previously. However it was under the assumption of a merger. Our members at the time (2004) were against this. We have now grown to be a Australia wide site, I have no problem with being affiliated with the NDSOC and encourage members looking for CH plates in Victoria to join this club, but I personally would like to keep the status quo so to speak. Being out of the country its difficult for me to join in with discussions, however I think moving forward I should perhaps put together a page on this site about becoming CH compliant and provide members with a list of various clubs they can join. I'm still not sure what is involved to be able to host "approved" CH events. Perhaps we could move this discussion to our club related section? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/board,18.0.html Before making any decisions on this sort of thing I'd really like the communities input. As they are what makes this site. Not I or Sulio alone.
