  1. It looks like a great car, he contacted me a while ago, may have been just after I left Australia so 10 months maybe? He was wanting to sell it then but at 50k. I don't think he had any interest at that price range. It is a bit steep to ask that much for a Z at this stage - especially in Australia where we under appreciate and under-value them (my opinion only here). I think its definately worth $30 - $35k but 40k is a bit of a stretch. I know myself I'd love to buy it but I don't have the coin and I would be trying to get it at 30k the cheaky brat I am .
  2. Its more than likely listed as a 300zx because the content management system on the website doesn't have any earlier models to categorise it under. The 3.1ltr looks like a beast, shame they are trying to market it as a Wangan Midnight special though .
  3. Found this on ebay, could be a P90 head. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NISSAN-PATROL-MQ-MK-L28-ENGINE-2-8L-RUNS-WELL_W0QQitemZ320287780705QQihZ011QQcategoryZ30862QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Item number: 320287780705
  4. I'm posting this because I want to buy it and I know I can't justify it right now. Plus these are getting increasingly difficult to come by. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220268537762 Item number: 220268537762 I won't object is someone decides to buy this for me .
  5. Yeah thanks for the feedback. I need to remove those test posts from local machine development . There are some broken links as I haven't put all the pages together yet. IE6 does have some issues too I just checked it at work. Unfortunately I cannot install IE6 on a Vista machine. The Mazda section will be expanded soon, the menu's are not complete but you can still post under mazda and tag your post with RX4. Yeah front page image wasn't a browser issue, it was a path issue from when I moved the site from localhost to production . I need to make some changes before you can upload photo's to the site though... Its all a basic beginning but after a bit of a clean up and fixing some display issue in IE6 I think we should be off to a good start. Thanks for the feedback so far..
  6. Oh and its untested in Internet Explorer 6 especially the drop down menu's. So if you are running Windows XP with Internet Explorer I'd love feedback on the design and any problems with it.
  7. Well I'm sure there is something I've missed, but you can read about the launch here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2817.15.html
  8. Well its finally up and running http://www.vintagejdm.com/ is a worldwide website for all Japanese cars. There is still lots of tidying up to do and things to fix, but given I'm the only developer and I have very limited time I figured I'd launch it now and see where it takes us. Feedback comments and anything else is more than welcome. Cheers, Gavin.
  9. He's spot on really, if the SU's are stuffed (mainly problems with the bushing of the throttle shaft) then you will never get them right. Killing plugs in such short time seems unlikely to me, unless they have been dropped etc.. The biggest problem I've had with SU's and Spark plugs is the mixture being too rich. This causes them to foul up but usually a quick clean with a wirebrush and there good to go again.
  10. I think he fabricated everything. Wouldn't be a bad idea though if someone started offering a kit for RB engine conversions.
  11. Ballast Resistor shouldn't cause you any problems. When you put electronic ignition in a Z you bypass this anyway.
  12. What do you mean "blowing spark plugs"? How do you know they are dead and not just flooded with fuel? What colour are they? I use a wire brush to clean mine up if they get fouled from a rich mixture. Usually if this happens there is something else going on anyway, rich mixture, incorrect timing. Also are they the right gap for your application? I use NGK plugs usually.
  13. We need to give Lurch a new title, not Moderator. Lurch can be a whole new usergroup of his own. "oracle" .

    240z interior

I've been looking for a good set of these for ages and haven't had much luck. Interior vinyls are probably best ordered from the US, somewhere like Ebay, Victoria British, Motorsport Auto etc.. Door trims are trickier because you they vary for RHD cars. Best of luck all the same.
  15. I wanted to buy it, but I really shouldn't have. Everytime I see a bargain on Ebay I have to resist temptation. Just because the Euro is trading well is no excuse . Glad you sold it though.
  16. Found this website today: http://www.watanabewheel.com/ You can buy only two types of wheels - love it. .
  17. Yeah I pulled that box apart the syncro's are trashed and the coupling sleeve was rooted. I think it needs new syncro's on all gears. Gonna be expensive to get that box working again, but at least it is the right ratio's. (260z box)
  18. That would be awesome, so far I've been scouring flickr.com for images but alot are copyright and I have to ask permission to use them. Will definately have Isuzu.
  19. Yeah I'll second that, I bought my LD28 crank off him. Not the cheapest price but the man has to make a profit and it was sent within a reasonable time. I've heard many good things about Stewart Wilkins Motorsport. I only wish he was in Victoria and that he would visit these forums.
  20. Looks like at the rate he's going, he'll be out of business soon. Being that Z owners are such as small community and that this site basically has almost every Z enthusiast signed up, looks like he's dug his own grave. Someone once said to me he seemed more into Valiant's than Zeds. Sounds like it wasn't far off the truth. He's probably not even aware of this website. *Edit, I've not had any first hand experience with this business, judge for yourself and make your own decisions.*
  21. Tend to agree with what Chris said, but welcome all the same. Hopefully your next post will contain a few less capitalised letters .
  22. Sorry maybe I came across the wrong way. Yeah I agree with what you are saying completely. The site will be more user generated in terms of content, but it will need some pages that explain each model in detail and provide images of said car. I'm hoping that when users upload photo's I'll have a huge collection to choose from, but we will see how we go. I managed to do a little more work on the site last night, but only very little. Slowly I'm getting there though.
  23. Understand you are upset, but please don't use vulgar language. I've not had experience with the new owner myself so can't comment.

    Cool wheels Simmons B45's?
  25. That's exactly the point the info is scattered and often the websites that have the info move or get deleted or are so old now that they look like websites from 1996 - because they are! . My biggest challenge is organizing the information and making the site user friendly. I will definately let everyone know when its launched but I'm hoping it will be word of mouth and search engine traffic that finds my site as oppose to, too much advertising - I have no budget for that . If things go well I'll consider hiring a few writers to put articles up on the site.
