  1. Great to see progress on the conversion. Keep us updated.
  2. Seems that everyone likes your socks. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=148735 I wouldn't worry too much. Hybridz has lots of knowledgable members I would wait and let things cool down a bit. Don't let a couple of members put you off.
  3. LOL what have we done? Sit in the naughty corner.
  4. I like those ideas too, I'd have to do a bit of research for something on Newman's Z. I assume you mean Paul Newman yes? Gordon? Sorry you might have to fill me in here. Do you mean Craig's brother? Len - yes I know Len quite well. I'm sure he would be happy to do that, but last I heard someone hit into his baby and he was repairing it.
  5. Sounds like a great idea, just checked out your website also and it looks fantastic. I think we should also feature your car Rev. We need another DIY car. Sure I think our members would enjoy that and it would be a great article. We should include that pic of your mug too .
  6. Looking for a new feature car to go on the homepage. Any volunteers?
  7. Now here is a 280zx worth checking out. Just read the description. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-280ZX-1983-2-2-T-Bar-Roof-Low-Reserve_W0QQitemZ330337542376QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars?hash=item4ce9a6e0e8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1|66%3A2|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50 Item ID: 330337542376 The car is painted in Benson & Hedges Gold and is possibly the only surviving (of three) original prize cars given by Datsun to the World Series Cricket. This car was presented to Viv Richards for "International Cricketer of the Year" at the MCG in the last one-day game of the 1983-4 season.
  8. Would be great to see pics of them on your car and not just the close up .
  9. Yeah looks familiar, but I think it had more than just a quick clean up. From memory it looked pretty rough in the old pics and rusty too! Looks like rust has been treated since then.
  10. Another advantage of being able to get L14 rods is that you would probably find alot of people in the US would be interested in them if they were cheap enough, reliable and easy to get. They use the L24 rod because its cheap and easy to obtain. I don't believe they got the L20 rod locally either, hence the reason they don't use L20 and L14 rods. I've got 2 sets of L14 rods (12 in total) but it took me 3-4 years to find them. It depends on your needs and application. Standard rods though are quite solid, its just hard to find them in certain sizes now (ie: l14 rods).
  11. +1 for potential interest depending on specifications of the rods. As Nick said I'd be interested in 137.0's if they were available.
  12. That is a beautiful car, although I'm not sue I like the Silver / Red Combo so much. It works on the image you showed but I wonder on a Z if it would really work? Kind of contrasting colours. Unless you go for the additional old school livery and style. That 904 GTS reminds me of the Prince R380 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_R380
  13. I think Purple would suit Sulio well. See Purple: http://drawsketch.about.com/cs/tipsandideas/p/doodle_color.htm
  14. Thanks everyone and thanks Lurch, the book of faces (facebook) told you didn't it? Tempting I really do miss working on my Zed and working on cars in general. You know its sad when you change the brakes over on your bicycle and get excited about pulling something apart again. Yeah Lurch has promised to help me take care of the body work in exchange for a slab of beer. So we will put Lurch to good use yet! . Tell me about it, actually don't . I got my first 240z when I was 17, so officially I've been into the marquee for 10 years now. Its a bit scary to think about it that way. Sounds like you need to hide that Zed away. The whole of western Melbourne is trying to run you off the road. Or maybe its a commodore magnet? Good to hear its not too serious. Not sure about this Zed overload title. As for plans to return to the land downunder, well not sure yet. Although I would love to be able to go on Auszcar cruises and stuff like that again. If I ever post a thread saying something silly like "i've decided to sell my Zed" you all have permission to reach over the Internets and slap me out of it. Thanks to everyone else who has wished me happy birthday .
  15. Welcome Leon, it was a brown 260z 2+2 75 model that made me fall in love with Zeds myself. Another member joined recently with a brown 2+2 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pos=33 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pos=34 I think they look awesome in brown.
  16. My vote is for the 70's lime, its one of the hottest original colours. The blue is for a more modern look but the 70's Lime will always be cool. Just look at the pic Evan attached of Guy Miller's cars: http://www.viczcar.com/Featured-Rides/Guy-Miller-and-his-3-early-240z-s.html

    piston

Look at those bores, you won't know yourself when its rebuilt.
  18. Me thinks Waxhead should try out for men's sock modelling. Certainly got the attention of the boys on this forum . You realise you have made it tradition now. Every update you make now has to include a picture of your socks. I'm wondering though, what kind of man works on his car with just socks on?

    Block

Looks like fun. Can't wait till I get stuck into this kind of mechanical work.
  20. Scootag, even though you blanked out the naughty word it was still rather obvious. Some members find it a little crude, hence the reason I changed your post (just in case you were wondering) . Waxhead, your wife is going to go mental, but its for a worthy cause. Funny question, but who did you get to take the picture, an accomplice?
  21. Check out the sellers updated comments and Q&A section. I'm now wondering what the other questions were that made him laugh. Interesting he got so much interest in the car its good to see there is plenty of demand. I wonder if he had kept the paint the original green when it was resprayed if that would have changed anything? Also anyone else think those rear guards have been massaged? Might be the photo but it looks like they may have been lipped a little? I'd say that Vinyl roof is dealer fitted and I don't mind it too much in my opinion but would prefer it without it. Hope he gets asking price.
  22. I like the RX7 seats with the original stitching pattern very tasteful. Would be great to see it actually done.
  23. Anyone else think their logo bears an uncanny resemblance to anyone else's logo? http://www.auzrun.com/assets/images/Merchandise/womens-polo-black.jpg
  24. I have heard this before also. I think its important to point out. I've seen a couple of members recently showed pics of engine heads with no cam towers on them. Can anyone else verify this?
  25. That really is awesome thanks for sharing that. I think they might still need some of these pics. I know they were still promoting 370z.com.au recently. That's a good find and a great looking race car.
