  1. Bless him, he thinks the hatch slam panel will be the 'worst' rust on the car. .
  2. Good video showing Safari Gold colour on video. Also a nice looking early Z.
  3. You and me both. It will be good to have the site driven by 1 piece of software instead of multiple and have it all share the same database. Which will be a huge win in my opinion, it will also make adding new features a lot easier. Hopefully will also speed the site up a bit also with some optimisation stuff I'm going to try, but probably most importantly improve the mobile experience since quite a few people use tablets and mobile phones to access content on here now.
  4. So I figured out why comments are not showing... Turns out that during the migration process the comment, it's date stamp, it's author and author id were all correct, but the image id referenced somehow got modified and the image id is out of whack. I've tried to see if there was any pattern to this modification but so far the numbers are all over the place. I can't work out why. I was hoping a pattern would allow me to apply 1 single statement to update them all to the correct image_id but at the moment I'm doing it manually (all 500 of them). Which is a pain in the arse no doubt but it works. Here is an attached example showing the comment appearing under the image correctly. An arduous task but I'll just do it in batches of 50 over the next few days (to save my sanity).
  5. It's all relative to how much collateral you can put up and if they think it will be paid back, your credit record etc.. Of course size of loan is also a factor, I guess it depends totally on the type of loan you're looking to buy a car with. It might not classify as an 'investment'.
  6. According to this page. http://jdm-car-parts.com/collections/body-exterior-parts-nissan-fairlady-z-240z-260z-280z-280zx/products/nismo-type-front-spoiler-for-datsun-240z-260z Back in early 70s', Nissan offered this type spoiler only to NISMO authorized racing teams and shops in Japan. I don't know how true this is, sadly I sold my 1 to someone who desperately wanted it thinking I'd find another. But as of yet, not found another. Well until now .
  7. Do you need a late or early set?
  8. Phil Lee is Edward Lee's dealership here in Parramatta Road Sydney, him and his ilk should be avoided at all costs... http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,15615.0.html http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=5171.0 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5171.msg43523.html#msg43523 Well it certainly did affect him .
  9. I certainly hope so, but communicating with a Japanese supplier is tricky (obviously since this order was originally messed up) since they have no "260z" in Japan I have to assume that an S31 Zenki model is what I need door trims for, this time I'm asking for photos before they are sent, as obviously the measurement of the door lock position was lost in translation.
  10. Bargain haha. http://jdm-car-parts.com/collections/interior-trim-nissan-datsun-fairlady-z-240z-260z-280z-280zx/products/datsun-280z-1977-78-coupe-door-panel-set-nos

  12. I must have missed this 1. Priced at 11.5m JPY (~$96k USD today). or around $125k AUD at today's price. http://bringatrailer.com/2015/04/22/rare-homologation-aero-nose-1972-nissan-fairlady-zg/ Funny comments on that page, some people 'don't get it', but I do... Video here: Actual listing here: http://enthuno-mori.com/nissan/20140803nissan/
  13. Payment received.
  14. Good, less temptation that way .

  16. That orange 240z was an Australian delivered car sold here not long ago.
  17. It is my understanding these are made to order and not NOS. Nissan doesn't have these as far as I'm aware. Hence these smell brand new because they are new. Chrome strip and all. They are reproduction cards made to exact OEM standard. Never seen date stamps on door cards, but then again I never really looked. I didn't see any on these.
  18. Yeah I have wondered I imagine it will be a market of crazy speculation like their stock market, property market etc... Some people will make a lot of money selling less than great cars to ignorant Chinese investors... Are you paying attention Phil Lee?
  19. UK 240z for sale. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/datsun/240z/datsun-240z-1973/4322674 £39,995 or approx $84,000 AUD at current exchange rate. Pretty sure it's the same 240z as featured in this buyers guide.
  20. I don't know if we should refer to them as 240z shelled 260z's. I'd say we should probably refer to early 260z's as sharing similarities with early S30z's. Remember it wasn't just Datsun 240z's that had the early style shell, but also Nissan Fairlady Z's which had L20s in them. Nissan made many changes over the years, the very first early S30z's had differences compared to later 72,73 model cars and over the years there was many many changes to the body shell. In terms of Aussie delivered RS30 prefixed cars, it's difficult to say how many we received. The numbers we often see quoted around seem to have no real 'official source' and it's hard to know if those numbers included other markets like NZ. For sure after 73 the majority of S30z's sold in Australia were GRS30's and I'm not sure why Nissan decided to send 2+2s our way as opposed to 2 seaters, it could be because of other saloon cars of the period doing well here and perhaps Nissan thought a 2 seater wasn't going to cut it the same? It seems most other markets were the opposite like in the US a 2+2 is incredibly rare these days. A good start would be to look at the S30z registry set up on WA Zcars. See how many are left and perhaps compare with other specifications to extrapolate out an estimate of survivors vs originally delivered cars. Legend has it less 260z 2 seaters were delivered than 240z's, but it seems to me that more 260z's show up for sale than 240z's and I seem to recall 15 years ago that it was much rarer to see a 240z on the road than a 260z 2 seater. So anecdotal evidence suggests that maybe that is wrong?
  21. Nissan no longer makes them, the car they are going on is 1 of the best 260z's going round... So they will suit it nicely.
  22. Sold pending final payment. If anyone else needs a pair like these get in contact. Still trying to source the earlier versions though. Will see how that pans out.
  23. LOL at the second image in particular...
  24. http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u80135696 GC111 aka 240K coupe shape. Sold for $10K - bare shell. Rust free though.
  25. Hi Everyone, I have these late 260z 2 seater door trims for sale, I originally ordered them for someone but was sent the incorrect version (we need the earlier ones like the 240z where the lock hole is 15cm from the rear) on these you can see they are 22 cm from the rear of the door card. This is what they used on later 260z doors. So measure your door lock position to determine what you need. More info here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=13542.0 240z/early 260z comparison measurement. I am hoping to exchange them for another set of the correct trims, but to save on the hassle of returning them I thought I'd list them for sale. Since they are super hard to find as anyone who is looking for a pair will know. These are brand new, absolutely no flaws, no storage damage, chrome trim is perfect etc.. They even smell brand new, only taken out of the box for photos. They are as mint as you'll find. If you want more photos or details of anything let me know? 1 of the photos makes the vinyl look a bit faded or washed out, but that's just the flash. They are perfect. If you want to inspect in person I have them at work in Pyrmont NSW. Happy to ship anywhere in Australia or abroad for our international members. Price: $1,500 AU - slightly neg.
