  1. Yeah certainly looks like it, pics here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,16210.0.html
  2. A great example of what can be hiding under all that paint, you can see the rear 1/4 panels on this are shagged pretty good, definitely a lot of bog in that region.
  3. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,16230.msg171557/topicseen.html#msg171557
  4. Wish Phil would stay away from these cars...
  5. No engine bay is same, but the exterior has had a more recent repaint. Which is something to be mindful of...
  6. It's about the only glass I don't have...got the other gauges lol... I think Ron at ZClocks.com may make them? But not 100% sure if he just manages to polish them up well. How badly scratched is yours?
  7. That looks like a good example, if it's as solid as photos suggest that is.
  8. Yahoo! Auctions seller: HappyPizza. http://sellinglist.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/user/happypiza Lots of OEM and Replica OEM parts. Filter store listings by S30z. http://sellinglist.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/user/happypiza?ei=UTF-8&p=S30Z This page lists email address and URL. http://store.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/html/profile/happypiza.html I believe they trade as: SK WORLD TRADING, G.K. Company Information 1-28-31, Higashishinagawa Shinagawa-Ku, Tokyo, 140-0002 Japan +81-334726755 NB: I've never ordered items through this seller. Will update if I do.
  9. Usually 10:1 ratio between JPY and AUD. Or you can use Dr Google. For example type the query "30,000 jpy vs AUD" into Google. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=30%2C000+jpy+vs+AUD That auction went for about $37 AUD + shipping (cheap) and broker fee's (if you need to use 1). All up I'd guess it would cost you about $80-$100 landed.
  10. I have a spare, but not sure how well it's working.. Looks like it could use a rebuild to be honest and I don't know if the module is any good. In my opinion save yourself a lot of hassle and buy a new or remanufactured 1 from eBay in at the US. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.X280zx+distributor.TRS0&_nkw=280zx+distributor&_sacat=0 The only reason you would want to rebuild 1 is to re-graph the distributor timing to suit your camshaft profile.
  11. No problem, nothing ventured nothing gained. I originally thought I'd refurbish my pair locally but I think the reproduction makes more sense even though I prefer to recycle stuff and retain OEM myself.
  12. P90 head. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/mount-warren-park/engine-engine-parts-transmission/datsun-nissan-p90-head-240z-260z-l28-/1082771787 SU Carbs in good looking shape with orange airbox. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/blackburn-south/engine-engine-parts-transmission/datsun-240z-hitachi-dual-su-carbouretters-carbs-manifold-airbox/1082604170 Rough pair of SUs without airbox. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bendigo-3550/other-parts-accessories/240z-carbys/1082605029
  13. 2+2 Project cheap. $1,900.00 Negotiable Geelong... http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/newtown/cars-vans-utes/1975-datsun-260z-coupe/1082510607
  14. Clean looking 2+2. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bassendean/cars-vans-utes/datsun-260z/1082650434 But what can 1 photo tell you? $13,000.00 Negotiable
  15. Not an S30z, a Mazda Cosmo. http://www.ebay.com/itm/252007034619 But worth watching all the same in my opinion... US $169,500.00 buy it now price. I believe this car is less than perfect, hence lower asking price than some other examples that sold recently.
  16. Rusty early HLS30 on Yahoo! Auction http://page16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u79436486 Sold for just under $4k AUD.
  17. Hope you won these? http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w121816926 I am kicking myself for not bidding. Another set went for over $100 AU Those were a bargain price...
  18. They look great, what's the reason for the change? Going smaller diameter or another style?
  19. I didn't want to derail the discussion in the thread here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,15973.msg169000.html#msg169000 But a foot-rest sold for over $700 AU. http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n145607981 You couldn't give them away here.... I recall many 260z 2+2's being broken and these were never an item people wanted...How things change.
  20. Thanks Alan, always learning something new about these cars.
  21. I feel the same, hence I'd like to go with the MSA offering, just wondering what others think?
  22. Ok so just to wrap this up. I'm probably going to purchase a set or 2 for myself, but given that MSA can't do a discount it seems a group buy is probably not worth the effort I'm afraid. Unless of course people want to go for Randy's set with the shorter center post and we can get 10 confirmed?
  23. Yeah it's definitely got more serious rust underneath that paint, probably in the slam panel of hatch the sills are probably rotten. But it is a good looking car, love the colour and the white wall tyres with 260z rims. Great combo. You could do a lot worse in terms of a 2+2 I think this is the same car I sold an older fella driving around Melbourne / Caulfield years back with his Labrador in the passenger seat. It hasn't deteriorated much in the last 14 years (if it's the same car). The interior condition looks great.
  24. Unfortunately by the time I got around to chasing this up he had sold it. @Rudy, you mentioned Pilot and Peerless but what about a Forbes ProAir unit? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/surrey-hills/power-tools/proair-air-compressor/1082281152 Specs here(Model = 12021) http://www.forbesaust.com.au/compressor_single_ph.html Anyone got any feedback on this brand? Also ad says Around 15.5 cfm. 13.5 amp. spec but website states more like ~10 cfm of free air delivery, enough to paint a car I'd imagine yes?
  25. The course is actually called "introduction to vehicle restoration". http://sydneytafe.edu.au/course-details/165-29588V01/tafe-plus-statement-in-introduction-to-vehicle-restoration The problem is Tafe NSW is making cuts and it looks like it might not run next semester. I'm going to call and find out, there was talk of Teachers running their own classes from home as you suggest. It's a shame really, the whole thing is a joke (Tafe NSW that is), cuts cuts and more cuts. I'll let you know what happens, as I'm sure some people here would be interested in such a course.
