  1. David, I'm the bastard that outbid you. I will scan it to PDF and share with the community. That is 1 of the reasons I bought it. I didn't want it to disappear. Not sure it has any value to S30z racers. But it does show a lot of cool period parts.
  2. 71 240z in Safari Gold. Auto. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-datsun-240z-/171865700614
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-/291517801858 US $17,950.00 Buy It Now, seems like a decent price to me.
  4. Hi George, Feel free to create a post in the introduction section maybe? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/board,26.0.html We would be interested in photos of your Zeds.
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-L28-Hi-Perf-Valve-Cover-Rare-/191636359367 Rare Valve Cover.. $899 USD.
  6. Did anyone else here bid on this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RACE-PARTS-CAT-240Z-260Z-280Z-FAIRLADY-Z-HS30-RS30-GRS30-DATSUN-NISSAN-GENUINE-/391202765831
  7. Maybe another thread for off-topic classic Japanese cars for sale is required? But in the interim here is a rare car. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/parramatta/cars-vans-utes/original-r100-10a/1084616352 Mazda R100 coupe Asking $10k - Looks like a North American car with LHD.
  8. Come a long way... Very nice.
  9. Looks like this 1 met it's maker.... http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2630.msg170246.html#msg170246 Back on Gumtree missing a few sections. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/campbelltown/cars-vans-utes/1976-datsun-260z/1084569922 At $1000 which for the roof turret alone is not bad. Could use the rest for a LHD to RHD conversion?
  10. I don't know why anyone would swap any dash into an S30z when the original design is probably 1 of the best looking dashboards of all time. That is 1 of my pet peeves with modern cars is that dashboards look so bland. I'm guessing it's an R33 dashboard? It does absolutely nothing for me.
  11. So 2 threads to look at. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,13624.msg152549.html#msg152549 and http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,14508.msg155020.html#msg155020
  12. I'm not an expert on the trim received in the Japanese Market cars, but I believe a couple of times I've seen the seats on Japanese market cars trimmed as the pictures in this thread shows. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,14206.msg159068.html#msg159068 But as far as I'm aware Australian market cars had all Vinyl seats throughout all years.
  13. Actually that's not a bad price, considering.... I've found a few in Japan for close to $50-$60K.
  14. SA22 / FB RX-7 Spa 24 Hour winner 1981. http://jalopnik.com/this-old-mazda-rx-7-race-car-is-a-buzzy-track-monster-1719001475 Good video of a classic Japanese sports car.
  15. Well done, I was going to bid on it for spare parts but decided to let it go last night. I will send you a PM.
  16. LOL, sorta deserved that.
  17. Drivers side in front of the windscreen cowl near the inspection lid on the firewall. Same place as your 240z.
  18. I've been watching this thread and wanting to chime in but it's all bit too much effort at the moment (haven't been so well today) so in the interim. Here is 2 links worth reading. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5612.0.html http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=15029.10
  19. My favorite is that Mr K. was some Z-car deity and without his marketing genius the S30z was destined to fail. I'm sure Mr K was a very good business man, but often too much credit is given to his influence in my opinion and the work of the design team back in Japan is often over-shadowed and or ignored. Not sure why they moderate comments though? Seems a bit pointless.
  20. Sad times, but hopefully the new owner will enjoy it as much as you. Thanks for the donation also.
  21. Ughhh it's painful to see the same non-sense repeated over and over when it's clearly wrong. Like this comment here. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2015/07/14/a-short-drive-in-mr-ks-1974-datsun-260z/ http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2015/07/14/a-short-drive-in-mr-ks-1974-datsun-260z/comment-page-1/#comment-8579422 Claiming the engine was a copy from Austin is a new 1 for me. I just knew when I saw the name Alan T. that there would be no response though .
  22. I believe the vin in dash and door jamb are a federal compliance issue for US market cars. I don't believe I've seen these on any European, NZ or Australian delivered vehicles. I don't think Canadian cars had these either, but happy to be corrected.
  23. That is a 260z 2+2 (not a 280z) and quite rare to see 1 of those I'd imagine in the US of A. I didn't think they got the 2+2 until the 280z in the US? I see it has the Calendar clock also. Must be an early 74 year car, notice it has the AMP gauge not the volts gauge also?
  24. Thanks awesome.
