  1. Interesting it was listed at $38K now it appears to be $45k.... If he's taken a deposit I shudder to think he might be trying to extract more out of other sellers to renege on his deal.
  2. That's a 260z knob. And expensive at $150 USD + postage.
  3. Another thing to consider is that the strength of the $USD now makes their market more expensive (which used to be the cheapest in the world to purchase an S30z in). When you factor in shipping / compliance costs etc.. That is another $7-$8k on top of purchase price, then if you want to convert to RHD well... that could get expensive...Especially when a 'good' 240z in the US now costs $20-$30k for an 'unrestored' example. So $40k for a car like the Green car starts to look cheap and it's already correct hand drive.
  4. A bit like Sydney/Melbourne real estate, great if you already own the asset not so great if you're trying to get into the market. . Personally I would always price high and come down. The S30z has global appeal and with our currency taking a dive as of late (and not likely to go back up for a while) these cars will appear cheap to those looking in... Of course it could all pop (Classic Car Bubble and all that) but unlike a stock or share at least you have something left over that is a bit of fun to own....
  5. Seller's Comment DEPOSIT TAKEN - Awaiting full payment. LOL....
  6. I agree I'd travel to go see the car no matter how far away it was. Done it plenty of times for my cars. Or I'd hire someone to inspect it who specialises in Classic vehicles - which would probably be cheaper than a flight + accommodation + rental car anyway.... Sounds like a bunch of cry babies to me. Anyone asking you to drop the price without seeing the car isn't really serious in my opinion...
  7. A couple of options. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240z-4-speed-shifter-knob-/261981633395 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240z-4-speed-shifter-knob-/261981660806 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240z-5-speed-shifter-knob-/291524537850
  8. There was a couple around $25 USD on eBay recently, looks like they have gone. Getting harder to find now mate. I asked a while back as I was hoping to restore them on a regular basis but nobody had any to offer me, no matter what condition.
  9. Fantastic, love 907 green and this certainly looks like a well kept example. I suspect with the hammering the AU$ is taking right now this car will appeal to a UK buyer or European (RHD) country? But hopefully stays local, it's not a car I've seen before which is kind of a shame as I'd like to see cars like this more often. If the last 1 sold for $35k within 24 hours, I suspect this will be gone just as quickly.
  10. The radio seen in this video appears to be the Japanese Home Market version.
  11. Let me answer with being open to correction from the guru. Yes I believe JDM cars were always in KM/H and therefore had the speedometer with the yellow /red markings to indicate you are approaching warp speed. I'm pretty sure the 432-R rear spoiler was optional but many were fitted with it. The ribbed version was an 'early' feature that was removed by 71 when the 240ZG launched. So no it wouldn't have had it unless retrofitted later. My understanding is yes, they didn't get the AM style radio our market got and the first year 240z's in the US received. For the rest hopefully the 'guru' will chime in.
  12. Nissan 2400 OHC valve cover. Only 15 mins left.. http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k188259068 38,000 yen ~$420 AUD at today's exchange rate.
  13. You're confusing the 432-R (PS30-SB) and the 432 (PS30) models. Quite different. Read more here. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/236658-1969-nissan-s20-twin-cam-engine-rebuild.html http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/45444-genuine-ps30-sb-fairlady-z432-r-refresh-story-in-gallery/
  14. More photos continued.
  15. Another PS30 for sale. http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d170712439 Bids start at: 19,800,000 yen. ~220,000 $AUD Bad translation. More photos here: http://30d.jp/stuff/25
  16. Just uploaded it here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,16306.0.html
  17. I haven't tested it myself, but I believe they would also aid in cooling by helping create a low pressure area behind the radiator. Nissan engineers probably further recognised this benefit with later S30z's as you'll notice above the radiator support on later cars was an additional lip with rubber seal so the top of the radiator support and bonnet would be sealed and effectively increase the high pressure area in front of the radiator and lower it behind it, air likes to move from high pressure to low pressure areas hence air is drawn through the radiator helping cooling.
  18. Another 5 speed knob. http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r103578704 Which is more correct at 35,000 yen. But that is closer to $400 AU and it's been sitting on Yahoo! Auctions for ages.
  19. http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e159890846 Sold for 22,000 yen which is about $250 AU at today's rate (plus postage + broker fee) = closer to $300 AU. And it looks a bit different to the earlier style ones that were thinner and the wood grain was different....
  20. Not always, I was just watching that radio. I thought it might sell for $250 USD and I was going to bid. I also asked seller for a buy it now but they wanted to let the auction run. However I got distracted with other things on the weekend and missed the auction end time. I was curious what it sold for and was a bit surprised when I saw that final sale price. I sometimes watch things just to see what value they obtain so that next time a similar auction appears on market I know what to sort of expect in terms of it's bidding etc.. I have a whole spreadsheet with auction results to keep track of prices and before anyone asks.. The answer is no, I'm keeping that info to myself .
  21. Last thread hijack, but as an FYI: Just sent an email to the web host about upgrading our hosting package. They sent out a promo last month and I had intended to get in contact. Anyway I'm asking a few questions, I believe it should have more space, double-CPU power and a whole host other benefits but it will cost a little more each month... So looking into it.
  22. Ok hopefully more space is available on the server. I'm not sure why we suddenly were showing a large disk space usage. I recently increased the photo sizes and attachment allowances but unless people have uploaded lots of new content I'm not aware of I'm not sure why we suddenly used a lot of space.
  23. Original Hitachi Radio. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111721421112 Sold for quite a bit... US $406.99 Approximately AU $559.24 at today's horrible exchange rate...
  24. I got some disk usage notification I have to check, not sure why because I had allocated lots of space.
  25. I can obtain OEM 5 speed gear knobs. Along with almost any other part. It is just the price. Be prepared to pay $300+ for a 5 speed gear knob in NOS condition.
