  1. The body colour decal or sticker goes on the radiator support panel. Be sure to put it on slightly crooked, like your a factory line worker in a rush . As far as I'm aware our market didn't get the stickers on the air filter housing, it seems it was a North American market thing introduced when they got the 'flapper' air box. This was due to colder North American climates and I believe the decals/stickers had instructions on making adjustments to the carbs and air filter flapper for different weather settings.
  2. NOS Early S30Z '240z' dashboard. http://page12.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p513121195 5 days to go. Currently at AU$1,602.13 Do want, but cannot afford at this time. Edit* Final price: $3,388.594 AUD is final price.
  3. I certainly hope that wasn't the works shell 240z (original TKS SA 33 4080 car). Unfortunately it looks like Merrick Triplett has since left us. So we cannot ask him about the car. http://www.westannouncements.com.au/obituaries/thewest-au/obituary-preview.aspx?n=merrick-triplett&pid=170696946&referrer=3057
  4. Pretty difficult to find locally I've found, I've got 4 sets of SUs and 3 pairs are 4 screw type and 1 pair is 3 screw. I've found best place to get them is the US of A on eBay or similar. Obviously it can't hurt to ask locally but they tend to be pretty cheap in North America also.
  5. Put me down, not sure if I'll bring the 240z yet. I wanted to bring down a 71A gearbox and not sure if I should be bringing it in the back of a Z.
  6. What condition is your distributor in? Any major vacuum leaks?
  7. That car basically sums up how many 240K coupe's ended up in Australia. I've seen many in that kind of shape, which is why so few are left.
  8. Not an S30Z but a cool car all the same. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Datsun-Patrol-1961/SSE-AD-3859772/?Cr=0 1961 Datsun Patrol Manual 4x4 $950.
  9. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13370-automotive-panel-craft-introduction/ has link to Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/automotivepanelcraft/
  10. That was HS30 00420 and it appears to have sold already. I saved photos of it however for inclusion on the Early Girl Bingo thread / list. See here also and a couple of pages back we have the ID plate photo also.
  11. Gotta be more specific, which 240z are you talking about?
  12. 1974 the wheel changed with the introduction of the 74 260z. Pretty sure it's a urethane wheels on the later S30Z's.
  13. I've actually been looking at that guy's blog / website because he does a lot of custom gauge work. That's for another project though .
  14. Just found this post here: http://revlimiter.net/blog/2015/10/momo-wood-wheel-restoration/ It has some details on the restoration of a wood wheel, I might give this technique a try on my other early S30Z solid spoke steering wheel to compare the difference in how they turn out. I would really like to get a gloss finish on it.
  15. On topic. http://revlimiter.net/store/jis-screwdrivers.php
  16. Somebody buy that! Looks like a great example.
  17. Poor pup, hope he's ok? They are part of the family.
  18. Great tip, I had no idea either! That's why I always try and avoid undoing screws and if possible use a socket or ratchet (not always available). I almost feel like this should be a pinned topic, perhaps there is other small tips and tricks like this that would help newbies - but also more experienced folks who just didn't know these things!
  19. Great that's put me off .
  20. E30 Cylinder head (quite rare now). http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/E30-Cylinder-Head-for-Datsun-L6-Engine-series-240z-260z-280z-/322081135494 Good for building a rally car replica!
  21. Early 240z build date 3/70. Shame about the colour not being original. Originally looks like it was 918 Kalahari Tan. HLS30-U 01955 6 days to go, bidding currently at US $16,100.00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/201565818749 Shame no L24 engine number is listed.
  22. Sell the RB30 and stick an L-banger back in it. Cheaper and easier option.
  23. Roof turret = roof skin / panel. Basically if someone puts a sunroof in an S30z you want a roof turret with no hole in it. Probably the wrong thread for a discussion on numbers. I've seen numbers before but no idea how reliable they really are. Here is a few threads to mull over. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/12603-how-many-zs/ http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14036-how-many-s30-were-sold-in-aus/ http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/5161-how-rare-are-hs30-240zs/ ( This post in particular) http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/375-when-did-the-240z-go-on-sale-in-australia/
  24. Yes plenty of experts on bookface. . @Lurch - How on earth did you manage to break those? New motor?
  25. Good to know, although it's amazing you know what year and event it was from a photo. I guess you know the cars that well.
