  1. I'm just wondering which CAD program you used? I just got given the new Huawei Watch. https://store.google.com/product/huawei_watch I would like to build a custom face that looks like the Jeco Rally Clocks. I'm obsessed.
  2. Hi Everyone, Just wondering if anyone has a single Triple Mikuni 44 carb body (Type 5). Same as the photo. You can identify them by the cover which has 5 screws holding it on. I've got 2 (as pictured) but need 1 more to make a complete set.
  3. HS30 01129 1971 Datsun 240z Spotted in Queensland recently.
  4. That's the later S31 unit, made by a company called Niles. http://www.zclocks.com/rally-clock-identification.html Probably the least desired of all he rally clocks. But still a cool addition for a later 260z. People often balk at the prices of the Rally Clocks (except those in the know), but for comparison check this out. http://www.retro-uk.com/page002.htm
  5. The front of the radiator support was hand brush painted satin black so colour didn't bleed out through the front of the engine bay and past the grille. But it was only ever painted up sort of half way. Not the best photo (but I can find a better 1 if you want? Actually here it is: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/42150-what-color-did-datsun-paint-the-front-of-the-radiator-support/?do=findComment&comment=379433 Not sure what you mean by plenum?
  6. Definitely worth saving in my opinion. I still think these cars have a way to go in terms of climbing value. But that's not always what it's about either.
  7. Better than new!
  8. Bring a trailer 72 240z sold for $30,000 USD. Getting harder to find a cheap 240z in North America now... values are only going 1 way.
  9. By the way Jeff how are you polishing it? For a job like that I'd be tempted to invest in a dremmel with various attachments.
  10. Yeah I do kind of like it 'naked' like that, but it tends to have a bit too much bling for me when installed against the sea of black vinyl . Although it's hard to tell if I'm just so used to the original look anything else looks strange now or out of place. Next wheel I do I want to apply clear coat to really give it that gloss finish. (which for some might be too much). From a Facebook post recently. https://www.facebook.com/groups/datsun.europe/permalink/1611252812511555/?sale_post_id=1611252812511555
  11. Yeah a photo of the 2 side by side would help a lot. Otherwise it's going to be hard to know if I've found the right glass.
  12. Do you have any photos of this blue tint difference between a normal (non blue tint) and a blue tint glass?
  13. Hi Alan, Sounds good, no rush on getting them I'm in the US right now but will send these over when I get back. So 26th is perfect for me. With regards to sealant, I had it water jet blasted and the sealant removed by Lachlan (Lurch), he used new sealant again, but I don't know what it was called off the top of my head. He did tell me at the time. Maybe he will see this post and reply? If not I can ask him for you.
  14. I agree no harm mentioning it here, since this is the most viewed thread in the classifieds with many subscribers. But... rather than spam this thread I'd start a new thread also and link to it from here. More details you can provide the better chance we'll have of finding it. My fear is that cars are not stolen for re-sale, rather stolen to be parted out. Given value of parts now and difficulty in sourcing them.
  15. Hey Alan, Just the blades for my friends in the US, but I may be interested in the re-bushed pivot arms for my own cars.
  16. Jenny with the rear valance is also selling an AU parts manual. $400 http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bonython/other-parts-accessories/datsun-240-260z-parts-manual/1129188950 These are great to have! 1975 Issue also, I have the 79 version. So this may contain some earlier part no's. For example AU market fender mirrors are not listed in the 79 version. Might be in the 75 version though! More items from Jenny. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-seller/Jenny/1012937705
  17. Different enough to make it not really worthwhile. I will repair mine. It will be the same amount of work. Well except for the fact that it has the nice curvature to it already. But it also has those horrid cutouts for the rear bumper (280z style).
  18. I can try and help find a good blue tinted glass in the US for you, I have a contact in SFO who helps me locate parts. I have been wanting to get early S30z vertical defrost glass. Only concern with shipping is breakage. But my contact is pretty good with packaging things up so they don't get damaged. I have also been looking at importing whole cars and bulk panel shipments also. Which might be a better way to transport glass.
  19. Hi Folks, Just trying to help out a couple of Fairlady Z owners in the US with sourcing these. Does anyone have 2 sets (for 2 cars) they are willing to let go of? Pretty sure they are the same for all S30Z's. If you've parted out a few cars and have spares let me know? Cheers, Gavin
  20. If only it was an early version.
  21. Datsun Spirit has some examples of this set up. https://datsunspirit.com/shop/itb-setup-for-l6/
  22. This book was recently translated into English. https://www.lulu.com/shop/search.ep?keyWords=Datsun+240Z&type= Although it seems to contain less pages than the original Japanese translation. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/49565-mruemura-wrote-a-book-making-story-of-a-fairlady-z/ But I decided even if it's missing some details of the original version it's still worth buying. So I just ordered a copy myself, anyone else here done the same or read any of it yet? Hopefully I'll learn something new about the early prototypes and production variations. Also interested to learn more about the Solex carb versions of S30Z chassis. I think Nissan should have released a Triple Solex variation of the L-series powered cars.
  23. http://blog.rarespares.net.au/post/2016/11/02/When-scrap-comes-back-The-revival-of-the-Datsun-240k.aspx 240k article on rare spares.
  24. I did further reading turns out they just resell tabco parts.
  25. Perfect and this is why all the dreamers need to pay attention. I've had so many people tell me importing a car to Australia only costs $1500 or so... But that is just 1 part of the costs. Hence why RHD cars are more expensive, although lately LHD is catching up...
