You can imagine my surprise when I checked the website after waking up, I saw several posts, but none show up until I approve the first post from a new user because often spammers post and get past some filters (I'm the last filter). Anyway after I approved it, i called Lachlan at 1:30am in the morning and didn't care if i woke his arse up haha.

First posts must be moderator approved. I block 99.9% of spam this way. Hence why it didn't show up right away. Ok will take it. Haha. I'm actually out of the country and can't but would love to see what car this is and how this goes. But I am actually interested in L24 blocks. I will get Lachlan to give you a call early morning (looks like 2am back home) I'm in Buenos Aires and just saw your posts now. Just approving them as I type.

Alan HS30-H will have a photo I'm sure. I've seen photos before but will need to dig it out. Interestingly home market cars had unique plate mounting hardware when compared to our cars. I will have to see if I can get some photos.

Yeah if you want bespoke you gotta pay the price. Comparing prices with mass produced products and those that are bespoke 1 off prices is not an apples to apples comparison. If someone wants a custom S30z it's because they want a custom S30z. Not because they are thinking about what else their money will buy.

Reproduction Mach Wheels are available. http://www.rsmach.net/steering/steering01.html However the original is original.. I saw a relatively rough 1 not long ago I should have bought, it needed restoration work..but it was an original piece. I've got a reproduction 380mm wheel in black. Nice piece! But even those are not cheap. -

My assumption is that it's a limitation on the website taxonomy also. -
Dalee and I discussed it at the BBQ. I find them fine on the first setting but too hard on 3-5. I don't know if King Springs are a good match for the shocks however. It's on the to do list. ?
-
It's not the springs, it's the Tokico Illuminas (in white) shocks that are too hard. Anything other than the lowest setting is bone jarring.

I have these in my 72 240z if it helps give you an idea as to how low it is.

In my opinion it's a great starter castle, my mum has a place down in Philip Island and the prices have boomed in the last 10 years down that way. If you like the lifestyle I'd say go for it, hard to replicate at current price guide. I'll be somewhat jealous but personally I like older buildings (like old Warehouses and workshops). Still it's a great set up.

1 thing I forgot to mention is that the mounting holes for the hinges in these are smaller than the OEM ones, giving less room for adjustment forward/aft etc.. before I started modifying mine I wanted to ensure it wasn't my car that was the cause of the alignment woes, rather than ruin a good bonnet (or modify it unnecessarily). I've seen many OEM hoods have these mounting points totally and utterly bored out to fit on S30Z's after obviously being hit in the front and then not fitting right again after. I don't have photos handy but I can measure these exact differences when I get home and compare them. It's a minor thing, but it was something I noticed right away once I got my new toy out of it's box.

Underside photos showing pressings...from here. https://www.facebook.com/Musclecarpartsaustralia/posts/1470777039687516 I'll allow you guys to decide for yourself if you think the bonnet I purchased (link above) is the same or not.

By the way Craig, I have a couple of spare TM-1081ZB(S) radio's. I am willing to sell (plan was to restore and sell) if you decide you want 1 let me know? I had someone else ask about buying 1 recently and I went to the effort of pulling it out and taking photos of issues with this 1. https://photos.app.goo.gl/B8scQYsdc429gUYk1 They haven't come back to me, but it got damaged because the seller was an idiot who didn't package right in transit. Chassis is bent (could be hammer / dollied right) and a piece of PCB chipped off a corner. It seems to still work but ideally you'd repair this section as you can see part of the circuit on it. I said to him I'd sell it around $350 USD as is. Willing to trade for other rare nostrums

Actually Alan did give me more information about the DIN pocket here. (Photos of what it looks like also attached). http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14558-the-ebay-thread-2-post-ebay-parts-here/?p=160681 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14558-the-ebay-thread-2-post-ebay-parts-here/?p=161010

Here is some magazine articles on 240z's etc.. https://goo.gl/photos/yGt15kkjKMxXx6Sb8 You can see the AM radio in a 73 delivered 240z. Pfft, as if you need Alan (HS30-H) to tell you that. 68835-E4100 was described as a radio mask aperture and was a blanking plate/storage box. Here is the AU parts manual page. Presumably you could order a 240z without it at the dealer, just like you could forego the clock (blanking plate like Z432-R) and probably power antenna or for that matter order defrost glass (as I've seen a few AU market cars with the vertical line glass, so I assume they must have optioned it) but I'd say very few actually did that. Here is a page from the AU parts manual showing Rally Clock (Option) with 8-Track radio etc.. but I've yet to see an AU market car that had the Rally Clock or 8 Track radio optioned from the dealer..

I didn't feel it was that constructive to have this discussion under someone's for sale thread. So instead moved to a separate thread to discuss rust sealant paints and painting over them etc..
-
Split out discussions around painting over rust seal paints to here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/16807-painting-over-rust-seal-paints-por-15-kbs-etc/
