  1. Can you think of a business model for collecting compiling that data and making it available?
  2. Reminds me of this video.
  3. HLS30 in Gran Prix Maroon. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n271369375 Starting at 1,800,000 yen
  4. It certainly falls into the HS30-H build range. Since they were made in batches, and my HS30 register (spreadsheet with entries) has a nice gap around that area. There is always a giveaway though, low VIN cars have a certain number of unique parts but even if you swapped them over there is some differences in body pressings etc.. The most obvious on early cars is the lack of storage bins. So a later car would have those and be a giveaway. Would you go to the trouble of installing the non-storage bins? But that's just 1 area that is different, there is others too. You really have to know these cars inside and out to pull the wool over the eyes of a true enthusiast. Of course that only matters if you're trying to present the car as something it isn't. If you're rescuing a car and in the process a lot of the original car is lost that's ok, so long as you don't try to sell it as something it isn't. That's my opinion anyway. As a side note I've seen a few of these types of auctions on Yahoo! not just for S30Z's, but for FD3S (Spirit R build plates) etc.. and not sure as to the legality of the situation in Japan?
  5. Seems cheeky... https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t574245694 @HS30-H any thoughts on this?
  6. That's ok the list is more of a to-do for me. As I forget half of them if I don't put them down somewhere. A few people have also mentioned the above items to me at different times.
  7. Damn, I was going to have Barrel Bro's restore my wheels... now that MCM have done a segment they will be all booked out for months I suspect!
  8. New topic with Feature Requests etc.. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/17291-post-migration-3x-to-4x-fix-it-list/
  9. Hi Folks, Just putting down a fix it list for items that need to be attended to after the major migration from 3.x to 4.x - not listed in order of importance. Favorite icon in bookmark bar. Done Look into avatar problems for certain members. Done. Create donating members only section of site. Done Create subscription model for donating members (to be advertising exempt). Donating members now have ad free experience. - Half done. Allow cover photos for all members. Done Give moderators and admin's more visibility in posts. Done Investigate feasibility in writings script to find old SMF style links and update to new IPS based links (remove legacy URLs) - not required. SSL certificate for improved security and SEO (Google Search). - Done. Guide here. Fix subtext here (forums_forum_3_desc). - Done Fix front page RSS feeds (for latest posts done, classifieds and topics done, but not working as expected.). Create new stream, UI bug - not allowing options to be selected. Investigate backwards compatible option (3.x) - Pending Bug Fix Fix website banner / design. Migrate front-page content (from Drupal) into IPS software. Delete old CMS (Drupal), so only 1 piece of software drives site. (Pull down old databases and store offline). Move from viczcar.com domain to auszcar.com. Look into Amazon CDN or similar (for increased image storage capability) Add icons to forum section on overview page (aid in usability) Implement ImageMagic for PHP for better image handling and compression.
  10. Just merged a bunch of threads related to the migration. Going to lock this 1 down. Since we have already merged. Will post link to new topic for to-do items and follow up questions regarding activity stream and latest post activity can be added there.
  11. Some folks who don't have an Avatar configured will show the first letter or number in their usernames instead. There was a time when there was more of those, but the software was rebuilding the cache and seems to have rebuilt most of them. The ones that are not yet restored I'm not sure about (since caching has finished apparently). I can look into it if folks want them restored or perhaps want to try uploading a new 1? Every major update seems to have a few hiccups, I've been working through them all. I haven't had a chance to fix the site banner. I should write down a "to do" list actually.
  12. So does she turn over? I guess getting a bore scope into it would reveal inside condition of cylinders.
  13. Yeah good tip on dash mat, remove it for photos of nice clean crack free dashboard. A few other small details for the originality stickler. 1. No bonnet badge or fender "Datsun" badge. Looks like only 1 tail gate badge? 2. No undertray? Many are missing these, but good to see them on the car. 3. OEM radio gone. Personally the roll cage wouldn't bother me, I quite like the car, especially the more I look at it because I know what it would take to get a rough 1 into this condition. With a 3ltr stroker I'd be tempted to go Triples, I can only imagine the SUs don't keep up that well with the rest of the mods, certainly felt like that was the case on my 72 240z. I reckon Triple 44's on this and you would love it. Almost talking myself into buying it haha.. What are you looking to move into by the way? Hard to beat an S30Z I think personally.
  14. I think it's fairly priced, just think the market has slowed along with the economy.
  15. I also think the vented bonnet didn't come in until late 75 (76/77 really) but possible that was changed.
  16. Pretty sure GRS30's started with GRS30 000003 (Oct 1973). Early 2+2's had the ID plate under the inspection lamp. Then in 1974 (September onwards) it was moved to the carburetor side on it's own plate just in front on the inspection flap.
  17. Yes I'm sure they were fitted to other cars, as I've seen a couple on Gumtree.com.au before and so there must have been another car that got them. I just don't know what car it was.
  18. Nice, love Peter's car (904 white with blue interior) so clean!
  19. http://www.columbian.com/news/2018/jun/16/memorable-car-gets-a-tune-up/
  20. I certainly didn't find the ride jarring or overly rough. Seemed fine to me.
  21. 1970 Datsun 240z 11/69 #525 https://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/d/1970-datsun-240z/6587869631.html
  22. https://www.westernadvocate.com.au/story/5471779/million-dollar-baby-record-price-for-gtho-phase-iii-at-kelso-auction/ Phase III GTHO has exceeded $1M mark.
  23. Cool car, can I ask what chassis no. she is?
  24. Nos OEM undertray for 72+73 240z. http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/m260242510
  25. I'm hearing reports of a fire in WA that have destroyed a collection of S30z's, some early ones too...
