What's worse is that all the Yolo hipster types that want to slot in big power engines into these cars when they have no idea if the integrity of the car structure is any good. I mean chances are most cars running around are not as strong as they were when sold in 1970 now due to issues like this.. yet they all want 500hp+... recipe for trouble if you ask me. But I've just outed myself as an old fart. Shouting at young whipper snippers with my walking cane.

  6. It's OK Aron, that's our Z repair guru and his standard reply when someone announces they are chasing some part or other...!!! (silly English term...!) Nice looking ute BTW. I suspect those Z wheels are more numerous than the number of surviving caps. I could do with one or two more myself as I have several wheels. There is a later 'Z' style cap used on the ZX cars which have metal fingers that clip into the hole very firmly and don't fall off like those silly push-on ones. They're what I prefer. They come up on eBay or Gumtree from time to time, with a pair on Ebay currently although they don't look to be in good condition. BTW. Has anyone come up with another wheel centre option? Just need something to clip in to the hole and maybe take a 'Z' emblem.

  8. Well its been a while! Here is a high level summary of what has happened since the last post: Tanks Inc PA4 fuel pump installed in the shallow part of the fuel tank without any welding Ended up upgrading to a Megasquirt MS3 CPU, MS3X expansion module and internal knock monitor - full sequential fuelling and retaining L20Et dizzy converted to full cable throttle debugged a number of items with the EFI and added sensors to allow for more compensations with fuelling calculations I've tuned the fuelling tables while keeping peak timing ceiling at a conservative 30 degrees until the knock sensing is tuned. The designed third harmonic of the manifold occurs at 5500rpm and you can definitely see the effect in the fuelling maps and the way the car picks up from 3500rpm. It serves as a little bit of validation for Whitleytune's design. Next stop, dyno runs on the same dyno for comparison!
