  1. I'm 65 and I have a 2005 Anniversary Z. its modified and presents as a Z38X, which is self explanatory to those that are familiar with Nissan Engine & Chassis codes. This project isn't absolutely complete but its been a whole bunch of fun and in the finishing and polishing stages. It has 5000 kilometers since new so its virtually showroom.. I'm a purist and reluctant to install any power sources from outside Nissan brand but I must admit the GM LS series is very interesting. Much more expensive is the VK56, but it is probably closer to my chest. I am in the market for a 1973 240Z for nostalgia/ restoration/ collectors purposes. I intend to build a collection of these and other iconic Z's and GTR's to fill my warehouse. (now that's ambitious) Its Sunday and I'm busy. Pics will follow. Is the Bathurst Event closed to the 350's? I'm thinking of going for a run with an old mate. I've never been and its probably time I had a look.

  2. The latest edition of UNIQUECARS (has the Barbados Green SLR5000 on the cover) has a very nice 17 page all clout article covering the 50th anniversary of the Zed. Features two very nicely sorted restored 240Z’s - Silver ‘73 owned by Brad Twyning and Green early ‘70 owned by John Wakeling (Forum members?). Lovely examples in my humble opinion. Really nice photography in my humble opinion and knowledgeable write ups, usual ‘Checklist Stuff” covering: Body & Chasiss. Engine & Transmission. Suspension & Brakes. Interior & Electrics. Also good little side articles with photo’s of Zed bits and pieces. Also 4 pages of ‘ZEDFEST 2019’ Photos. Cheers, Rod.

  5. I’ll be there, with possibly 1 or all three kids and potentially one wife also. but she might take the kid free opportunity to knock over some Christmas shopping... but that’s enough from me. See you all then! And thanks Mr and Mrs Gordo.

  6. I received this section a few days ago and just unboxed it last night to see what it was like. First thoughts vs the Canadian offering. 1. The thickness / gauge of steel is much better to work with. 2. This comes in epoxy primer (unlike the bare Canadian panel) this is good to prevent flash rust. 3. The compound curves are there and so you won't need an English wheel to shape it unlike the Canadian suppliers piece. 4. The exhaust cut out and bumper reliefs and spare wheel support (impression) are much much better on this piece. Overall for a replacement section I give it 9.5/10 - It may need some minor shrinking on the top edge to get the curvature spot on but otherwise a very good section. I spent weeks trying to make 1, weeks trying to make a reproduction section fit and so for all those reasons I'd say it's worth paying $500+ for.. Hope this helps others.

    Saxon's 260z

It’s been a long hiatus but my zed is up and running again. I took it into Nissco /dat1600 workshop and they did a great job fixing up a decent list of things for me and getting it going again. I couldn’t find much in the way of forum reviews on them but decided to give them a go and couldn’t be more happy with that decision, they’re very professional, have great communication, and know these cars well. Plans are going ahead to build a 3.1L or 3.0L stroker. And I have a little list of cosmetic stuff to work on in the mean time. Right now I’m finding it a real pain to find a steering column cover, if anyone has a spare let me know
