S30Mike Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Some gutless piece of work reversed into my bonnet with a god damn towbar today and failed to leave his details. I nearly cryed when i saw that shit after work.. absolutly disappointing. Merry christmas, im up for $1000 of repairs which i needed to spend on fixing rust.. unfriggen beleivable. :'( Quote
C.A.R. Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Crap! Was it in a hi-rise carpark? Can you check CCTV footage? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 3, 2009 Administrators Posted December 3, 2009 Man I feel your pain, same thing happened to me a few years back. The damage was more minimal but I was so upset and angry. I feel your rage, and I feel sorry for you. This is why I stopped driving my Z to university I was too worried about it. Quote
Scoota G Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Some people have no Damn respct for anything hey? Sorry to hear that Quote
hunterzed Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I came back after a great day at the V8 supercars in Adelaide to find some low life scum had smashed both my front side windows and all they took was my GPS. They didn't even think to look in the center console to see about $80 worth of coins just sitting there. They also broke my glove box trying to break into it as well. It P#sses you off when you get scum that just takes things that others have worked hard for. Quote
Huw Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 back of mechanics......front passenger guard completely folded in..... all i was left with was white paint from the van.... what annoyed most was the fact that cause they didn't leave details I was 'at fault'......grrr..... Quote
dorifticon Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 About a month ago someone reversed into the front of my GTR with a towball and has seriously dented in my (aftermarket) intercooler. Luckily it hasn't punctured but it has still seriously deformed several of the tubes, which clearly can't be good for flow. so yeah, I can relate. Quote
Mr240z Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Crap! Was it in a hi-rise carpark? Can you check CCTV footage? You can't view CCTV without a police warrent, Privacy laws.. Just been though the whole CCTV thing at work, Hence the 4 week suspension so far.. Anyway Mike sh$t happen es, Keep your chin up mate. Quote

Yeah see thats what really makes it a double edged blade, because now i will probably have to make a claim. and because hte metal is actual pierced, if i dont get it fixed up fast the damn thing will start to rust! Im betting it was someone local, because 80% of the time its the same cars parked behind my office, so ill go take a look today and see if i can find hte car. It wouldnt be hard to work out, because i can simply measure up the height, and ill bet that theres still blue paint caked on his tow bar. Seriously upsetting, i was just washing it the day before and thinking, "Yeah, my bonnet is one of the things thats still pretty good on my car" Quote
620Z Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Mike you are probably right. You might find the car close by. If you do grab a metal bar and do over every panel. An ey for an eye + interest if you ask me. Just ask my neighbors who incedently moved out. Ha Ha. They start it you finish it. People like that piss me off. Quote
luvemfast Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 It wouldnt be hard to work out, because i can simply measure up the height, and ill bet that theres still blue paint caked on his tow bar. Sounds like a good idea Just ask my neighbors who incedently moved out. Ha Ha. They start it you finish it. Note to self, don't piss off Craig Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted December 4, 2009 Moderators Posted December 4, 2009 I've actually caught people hitting then doing the runner....I usually leave the note with their details...I get may thanks for that. Been down that road many times Mike...It leaves you hollow inside. Track the ba$%^ds down and follow Craig's advice. i would! Quote
Cdr Zero Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I feel for you mate, I hope it never happens to my car, but knowing the amount of dropkicks on the road my odds don't look good. :'( Hope you find whoever did it. Quote
620Z Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Yep, luckily I have a second car. So there are some places I won't take it or leave it for that reason. Going out to dinner in Frankson, would be nice to drive the car down there but I won't because I don't trust the thought of a key going down the side of my car. I had mine proken into once at a Pub. They put a screw driver through the door. Luckily the alarm scared them off as it wasn't insured all those years ago. would have been a lot of money down the drain if they got it. Now insured I wouldn't mind (well sort of) if someone stole it. Ha Quote
S30Mike Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 Looks like i may have scored lucky and found the guy. Measured up nearly exactly to a tradesman ute working in a house a couple doors down. Lukcy he was back for more work today. I couldnt find the guy, so i snapped a photo and restrained myself from puncturing his bonnet with a crowbar. I left a lovely note saying that if he "remembers" an "incident" involving parking yesterday afternoon and does the right thing by putting his details on my car then i wont go for a ride to the cop station and file for hit and run. We will see what happens monday, The balls in his court now. Quote
Mr240z Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 You left a note.....WTF I would have tracked him down like the dog his is and sorted it out there and than.. Eat some concrete and harden the f@#k up..Left a note !!!! Quote
twosixty Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 You left a note.....WTF I would have tracked him down like the dog his is and sorted it out there and than.. Eat some concrete and harden the f@#k up..Left a note !!!! If he smashes up car = still has no money to fix the bonnet, and (slim) chance it wasn't him + witnesses of rage. Leaves note = possibly get money/insurance, still has option of smashing stuff. Quote
Mr240z Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I didn't mention rage...I said sorted it out there and than.. Leave it for another 3 days and that makes it all over. I'm pretty sure it has to reported within 24hrs. Quote
sydney mike Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I didn't mention rage...I said sorted it out there and than.. Leave it for another 3 days and that makes it all over. I'm pretty sure it has to reported within 24hrs. +1 Thats correct, within 24 hrs. Used to be called a "P4" self reporting form. After 24hrs you are just relying on the other persons honesty. If you haven't already, get yourself down to the local cop shop and insist on making a report. Quote
twosixty Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I didn't mention rage...I said sorted it out there and than.. Hmm, good point. Quote
Kodie Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Fark man, thats horrible. Had any word from said tradesman? Don't suppose you found your paint on his tow bar? If he doesn't fess up then I would take craigs advice but with a little twist..... follow him home then smash his personal car Quote
