chris240 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 and so the story begins... around last october I thought Id try to talk the missus into buying a 2nd zed...for her of course Anyway she didnt really give me answer, so I half heartedly started looking for a reasonably original zed "with an auto box" (as she cant drive a manual). I contacted a chap who had a very immac & original 240, but unfortunately the price was out of our league as the car was almost concourse. He told me he had another zed and would "think" about selling it. I forgot about it until he emailed me last week (3 months latter !) wondering if I was still keen. I got him to call me at work last tuesday and we had a very long chat, he sounded as if he was "sussing" me out maybe to see if I was legit. He told me he has a 260- 2seater auto, light blue, white interior and very original, no rust Canberra car for 98% of its life, we chatted for a while longer about world politics etc, when I asked him how many zeds he actually had...he told me: 10 x 240 and 11 x 260's !!! 21 in total , all fairly complete. I thought he was having me on !, he described 5 zeds of his which may suit my needs and he said hed email me pics for my eyes only...true to his word he emailed me around 25 photos showing the 5 zeds we discussed. one of the pics showed a white 240, and in the same pic I counted 5 more zeds in the background of the shed. In all the pics I counted 12+ zeds lying about the padock and the better ones in the shed. I dont now doubt that he has 21 zeds !! What was dissapointing was seeing some of these zeds in the paddock , that had obviously been there for sometime. But on the plus side where the zeds that where getting sprayed with new paint. Price-wise he knows hes zed values, so no bargains to be found. I might try to get to hes place in the next month if the missus gives her approval. Ive attached 1 pic showing the zeds in the shed..he shouldnt mind, anyway thought Id share the story. Quote

nizm0zed Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 id heard about this bloke, but i thought it was a roumor. as i heard it, he collected many of them with his late father, and inherited the collection as he passed on. apparently also has quite a few NOS parts, still in thier origional datsun packaging. I reckon he must be the personification of the zed god. Quote
Toecutter Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 There was a story going round a couple of years ago about a fella on a country drive seeing a Z under a tree on a property. He dropped in to find 20 or 30 Z's throughout various sheds on the property. As the story wen the fella was collecting them and was'nt keen to part with any of his cars...I always thought it was just one of those stories but hey there you go, a bloke that owns over 20 Z's! The 260 2 seater auto looked like a fairly clean & straight car around a 7.5 / 10..he wants $10k for it..seems fair, but not a "bargain" from any stretch. Need to have a chat with the missus. Hes also got a full blown track car and a few modified L28 EFI setups as well, of which I havent seen pics. Ive emailed him to ask permission to post his full details. Quote

ZD44TT Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 guys seriously treat this guy with respect cause I can see him getting the shits with all of us tyre kicking him every day of the week for small stuff. his pretty open about things but I wouldn't contact him unless you were 99% sure you wanted to buy something off him..........and maybe keep it to the stuff he puts up for sale. He works as a woodchipper and so it's seasonal ........... on the offseason he works on the zed for extra dosh. Quote
