folow current trends?

that is funny given that in 1970 the FairladyZ 432-R aka PS30SB left the factory with a black bonnet so you could say current as in from 1970-2009 it has always been in :D

yeah i knew someone will pick up on that, i know that the old works rally cars and the 432 cars had black bonnets - i guess i was just referring to all the wannabe drifters with their black bonnets running around on our streets at the moment

also i have a 2 seater 260z that gold colour too and have seen one or two other cars - i dont mind the colour but dont love it either

Yeah I'd head of Steve Lamb - I think he may have been a member on here ages ago...

I do remember his Zed too - I think the last time I saw it at the Island he'd converted it to EFi & used the Webers as the throttle boddies!

Think his username on here was lambs, had lots of knowledge. Not sure what he's up to at the moment though.

Considered doing the black bonnet on my Zcar. Think it looks good as its very reminiscent of the old rally cars to me. Black Watanabe's would be needed or those lovely wheels the Rally cars had, not sure what there called though.

Nice rims looks like Performance Wheels SuperLite GTR version aka racing version = lighter weight which they need to be as I think they should be called superheavies. I tried to order some here in NZ when they first came out in 16x8 but agent could not get them or some BS so I got the Rota RB-R from the US in 16x8 - shame would have been good to support a local vendor.

Yes, I would agree with the matte black bonnet reducing glare, however, mine is gloss black, its purely for looks lol

haha, same  :)

I reckon that colour with a pearl of some description so it doesn't look quite as flat would look great Lurch.

It's got a bit of Metalic in it now Shane, so I dunno ???

Rev. Dave has offered to paint it for me (after I badgered him to do it :P)

& it'll be painted in Acrylic - so nothing fancy.

Also, I've finished the PS door! ;D

It's not perfect, but by the time it's been high-filled & painted it should be good.

Now onto the DS door!  :(

I'm now onto the last bit of rust that needs repairing - the DS dogleg.

I need to fab up a new inner section first, then the outer panel can be welded back into place.

While I was waiting for the old man to finish with the angle grinder,

I decided to remove the door catch - it turned into a right PITA... ::)

The plate behind in the C piller was fairly fooked...

I found that there was no thread left in the top hole & there was a seized bolt which I had to drill out.

So I decided to remove the plate to fix it properly...

Two spot welds drilled out & the plate fell out the bottom (where the sill is open atm where I'm repairing it).

So I welded up the holes & redrilled/tapped 6mmx1.0 them - just have to replace the plate now :)

Let me know if I'm boring people...
