This is probably the worst kept secret on VicZcar...

I purchased the car a few months ago off Lui (LC260Z), for quite a reasonable price.

At this stage I just want to get it engineered, running & on the road ASAP.

Plans include:

Minor rust repairs - a couple of days work at the most.

Repaint in the current colour where needed.

Reinstall the L26, with a mild cam, Triple 40 DCOE's & headers.

Brembo 4-spot Monoblock calipers & 330mm rotors - front (Chris Wood hats & caliper brackets).

R31 or 280ZX rear disc brake conversion.

Coil overs. F: 300lbs, R: 250lbs springs.

Koni DA inserts.

Fully adjustable suspension F&R.

R200 with Nizmo or Cusco centre.

17x8.5 rims of some description with Kuhumo V70A tyres.

Race seats & harness's.

Then start punting the thing!!!

Stage 2:

RB25det conversion (Engineered).

Turreted & slotted strut towers.

CV Half shafts & CV HD Drive shaft.

"Maybe" a 4130 molly multipoint rollcage.

Depending on what happens with my work in WA, this may not get done for a while... :-\

Updates as they occur...

For the price, the Rota's can't be beat.

But with the current NZ exchange rate, a set of 3-piece Arrowlite's look mighty tempting...

...is this proof that everyone prefers the 2 seaters??? hehe

i'd be interested in getting the parts required for an RB conversion at the same time as you to save on postage, and since you can actully weld, if ur modifying bits and peices i'll happily fix you up to do a set for me at the same time :D

how much does a set of arrowlites cost? i can see y you dont want to go down the flare path - i currently have the front flares off my car and it looks really tough with the rims on it, although they just stick out to far to not have flares

I can probably get a set of Arrowlites for around 2.5k, but I'd have to check...

Evan, I've always lusted after a 2 seater but I've never had the funds before (& I hate loans).

If your going down the engineering path, your best to use factory engine mounts to keep the 'Ginger Beer' happy.

But I'll see how I go in terms of modifying stuff. I'll be building my own baffled & winged sump, with a pickup to suit, though.

Anyone for a RB conversion kit? :P

Congratulations Lurch first on buying a 2 seater and second being quiet about it for so long.  ;D

like your plans for it too. RB installs are fairly easy. you will see.

even better when they in the car running tearing up the streets.  :P

any tips you may need just ask.

Cheers RBZ :)

I've just made a rather pleasant discovery.

When Lui removed the engine & auto, he pitched the auto trans but kept the speedo drive unit.

It's a yellow drive cog & when I checked my chart it says that YELLOW is the 16 tooth for the R200 3.36!

I'm rather pleased! Unless of coarse someone has swapped in a different drive cog...

And no - I won't be selling the Diff!  ;D

with 3.36 you be flying.hopefully the panels hold up at high speeds.  :P

i still got to figure out if my performance issue is fuel delivery or 4.4diff.

OK, bit of an update:

My plans have changed - again!

Stage 1 is going to be to get it on the road as cheaply & quickly as possible.

I really want it ready for Tassie 2010...

So, Stock suspension/brakes. Orig L26 with SU's & a 5-speed box & R200 3.54 ratio.

CH plated too.

Stage 2 will be a little more extreame after I got some idea's off Vince from NSW at Thredbo... :-X

I won a set of 260Z SU's (the good ones) off evilBay! (The Zed didn't come with carbys).

So after I picked them up I dropped past the good Rev. Dave's place, & left with a genuine airbox!

I had a good day that day...

I'm now knee deep in repairing the PS door... :o

I'll be writeing a Tutorial when I've completed it & it's painted :)
