  1. awww i gotta get more active. I could have brought my poosar along for the trip lol. Sorry Guys I have been quite the slacker of late at getting on the web. dont know where my time is going but im searching hard to find the plug i must have pulled out of my hour glass.
  2. Well datsuns I would own. I think there is a lot out there i would play around with. Of course I dont need to worry about the misses and cars because she already left lol. But i have the 260z and the 280 and I gotta go pick up an old and tired 1200 coupe as a fun car. But I dont think I shall wish much more appon myself atm. But yeah they all could be fun
  3. i had a sII bluebird as a daily for a while. good reliable car. was my parents from new my sisters learnt to drive in it and drove it then i learnt and gave it some. it was straight as when i got it. engine had done 500000 by the time it died. I did stupid things in my youth. pushing trolleys out of the way with the front bar. drove for like 14 hours straight one day. got to Canberra fell asleep comming down this road. woke up to thump thump thump. looked up to see a line of empty garbage bins on the side of the road and I'm hitting them. through a few like 5m off the road. hardly any damage to the car. some bins though. engine Finely died and bad things happened to the shell. still got all the doors and stuff out in the parts shed. was thinking of scrapping them in a couple of weeks when i do a run. Old cars had good and bad points as dailys. easy to fix (most of the time). new cars it stops on the side of the road. So you open the hood and look at the masses of wires running through the barsted. cheap and less things to go wrong with them. fuel, air, spark alot easyer to chase
  4. I know I have recommended him to a few people on here already. I'm pretty sure that they are happy with his work. Mark Oliver is a good mate of mine. He is Mark Oliver panel beating. He is a guy who has a gift for the art and loves what he does. Has been doing it for years and doesn't want anything comming out of his shop that doesn't meet the hot rod standards. He is the panel beater for Most of the car clubs in Canberra. People from down in begga have brought their cars up to have him do them. He does almost any oldcar from Australian, America and Europe. He has worked on cars of 100 years old and up. I swear this guy could beat a crushed coke can back into shape.
  5. I think that engine goes with make. Someone told me they world help me put a 2jz engine into my 260z. Well thats all good and all but its a Toyota engine. plus then its less confusing for others when they look at it work on it. If i was to put something completely done up for drags in the z i would probably go hemi. But if its a daily or a show car there is not need for it. If your going insane and doing something not done before then OK. I know of someone with a sr20det in an excel. personally i think its wankerish. but they did it because they had a shell and an engine and were bord. I also know of an excel with a merc v8. Turned into a rear wheel drive. mad little burnout car. It also looks cool. But if the brand your doing up makes an engine that does what you want then why destroy an awesome car. Really we should probably move this to its own thread instead of someones personal thread. But I'm computer Illiterate so I don't know how.
  6. ooh eh. yeah actually i have already done a lot of work on sr20s should just stick to what i know. although they both have advantages and disadvantages. there was a rotary powered vs sedan at one stage. This was when i was running a blown vs 5l. while i was starting to make things happen in the cruises around canberra. the guy pulled in to the area we were all hanging with "a commodore that actually goes" stickers all around it. Figured my ute looked like a good peace of pray. Told me he wanted to take me on in a 1km drag. My ute ate his car. He drove past laid into me. the rest of the guys around laughed at him so he left canberra upset. So glad im out of the whole scene now. Much prefer cruising. But weight is the main problem I assume in the rotary scene.
  7. would love to come but i recon people would laugh at the pulsar. 260 still a bit off
  8. more sheep but less sheep per human head.
  9. depends on what materials you use to build the rest of the car, lol. 1200 can be made to way a small amount.
  10. greetings from the act. But not canberra. Canberra sux. Tuggeranong is the good act place to be. still sux though. Nothing wrong with any datsuns. but if you want something fast and a hatch go for a 1200 coupe and then stick a ca18det in it bord out to 2l and running a disco potato. then tub the rear end and stick some hot rubber in it. Hehe 700kg of fighting datto. hehe then watch the passangers grab hold of the jesus bar and scream. (project yet to come and may be subject to copy right Devise Automotive A.C.T.) nah the datsuns are good cruisers no matter what. Everyone here will help you out somehow. Dont be ashamed to ask for help or anything. Good look finding a good car. Dingo Dave
  11. Lol it is a barely second hand motor bike. Looks very hot. Good buy mate. Scott and I know what its like to tow in heat with a commi. drove to newcastle (pritty much) and back in 11 hours in 40c heat. Most of the trip back he ended up with the heater on and us hanging out the windows to try to not be like the other 200 cars on the side of the road on the trip. Got the old valiant back to the workshop though. Big plans for that one. Should make a nice bbq and a great storage box. As well as parts for an old ute.
  12. So I went in for a second interview today. Been getting stuff from there for years now i get to see the whole place. we stood around and chatted for a while. I asked lots of questions lol. So I will be on the same wages as what I am on now. I will have weekends off yay. He has also told me that family is everything and that i should not change my Friday mornings with my son but continue having them and come in at lunch. So my job will not only be a fitter and turner making things out the back but part of my job is to help maintain stock in the place. So a little computer work not so bad. A little customer sales as well. 2 fitter and turners to train me up. seems pretty good by me. plus I can get new machinery for my workshop through the business lol. Mandrel bender, hmm what else can i Think of lol. I do have to pay lol.
  13. Already done 2 years of my apprentaship when i worked of nasa at cdscc. I loved it out there and I have my own machines in my workshop. I think I should take it too. Just know I got it good where i am.
  14. Today i went in to a shop i always use for my machine parts. while i was in there the owner pulled me into his office and offered me a job to finish off my fitting and turning apprentaship. The buisness has been around for years. nasa uses them to get their parts for the deep space facility and taff uses them too. I am working as a sales man atm at autobarn and i love it. But this job could open a lot more up to me. whats everyones thoughts. I already think i know what im gonna do.
  15. damb need to change my pants
  16. I would say mark oliver does good work and you can stay at my place. But its probably out of the way for you.
  17. Well I would like to thank those who have and are helping me on my car. Its good to sometimes have a team at work on something that is mine and not a customers. Anyone is welcome to come and help if they wish. I will apologise in advance if you do lol. Well I really haven't posted anything up on the thread for a while. Not because I haven't done anything but because I been slack on posting it. Well the roof is pretty much in primer. I have welded up the passenger side. It went in primer this arvo. I am quite impressed on the lines and quarter of the car. The line half way up is sharp enough to shave off. So why am I still hairy. Some people have been doing some crap work for me around the car like prepping for primer and cleaning and sanding. Doing a great job. Scott and I are heading out on Thursday to look at a 1200 coupe. See what condition its in and how well dressed it is. See if its worth the money being asked and if I can work my sweat and blood into it and make it like new again. But as it is there is no pics. I forgot to charge the camera so they will wait till tomorrow night. Maybe.
  18. It is crap that people feel the right to destroy other peoples property. I walk past peoples houses in Canberra and know they just rendered the bring walls a few weeks ago. One there was still rendering stuff around the house and someone had sprayed their marks on the wall. Broken down cars one day the next trashed wrecks. And if you try to stop it eather you pay with your life or you get sent to prison. My dad has a s2000. Doesn't look like anything special from the out side but its got some things hiding. about 4 months ago. some tyred to take the badges off. 3 months ago they slashed the roof and the leather seats. about a month ago they tyred to badge it again but the badges broke and so they scratched up the car. then on the weekend they slashed it again. Every time in public car parks. every time no only his car done. I am 25. 7 years ago i was a wild boy. I lived on the streets and was involved with a lot of other people like i was. Our past time was Luge, bike riding mountains, parties and hanging out at the youth drop in centre. cool during the day but at night there wasn't much to do. So we did some vandalism. Things that back then was like wow. Stuff like someone has rocks on there front lawn to prevent people form parking there. so we would move them to their next door neighbors lawn or on the house across the streets. or lift a car up and turn it around or move it it twenty meters down the street. We did things that we thought were funny. things thats didn't really effect other people except for maybe moving the rocks back. Or wondering why they parked the car 20m up the street. I was homeless. Yet I had respect for other peoples property enough not to damage it. We got warnings from the cops but I'm sure they thought it was funny too. But kids these days dint have boundaries. They do what they want when they want because they know they cant get introuble anymore. I use to get the cain at school. And i use to fear it. I am sick of those who are meant to protect us not having any rights anymore. I am almost ready to start taking action into my own hands. because these kids dont mean well. and they dont have respect or regret.
  19. hmm sexy asses there.

    Thredbo trip

Now now children. Remember what you were told about hich hickers. Be very carefull. LOL
  21. G'day mate. Cars looking good. Nice to see the last of the aussie v8s being used for some fun. should be a fun car. Well welcome and good luck mate.
  22. Mate thats looks awsome. Dont worry about the owners of the past. they let the car go. Its now your turn to do what you want to it.
  23. Nothing wrong with auto. as long as your a cripple. Lol. Manuals are so much fun to play with. But its up to the cripple. I mean the non cripple if he wants it. I must be getting old myself. I am over lowered cars and flashy paint and loud exhaust. You know a little lower on most cars is ok. but when you take out the springs you are just plain stupid. A nice easy paint job is good. and easy to look after. Loud exhausts suck when driving to a while. Still like my clear sounds systems though. Although my tast in music is better now too. Sorry side tracked. Mate that car has a good owner. Cant wait to see you finish it. the way you want it.
  24. Welcome mate. Once you start your first resto you eather stop at one or go on and do a lot more. I have only met a couple of people who stopped at 1. I have met a lot that finished ! and said never again and 2 years later there in their garage stoop the next project. Good thing about sites like this is there are plenty of people to suport you and help you out. I noticed on this site even though they have their own cars in progress they still end up in my shop with my car. Well. We hope to see some progress on your car. Hope to see some on mine as well lol. happy restoring.
  25. I hate Canberra. "Oh oh lookie here, there is something that makes us lots of money and brings people to Canberra. Oh but because it contains cars lets ban it and put a photo exebition on instead of male ballet dancers in tight leotards so we can actually look at them and not be called gay like we actually are. No one else will come eather so we can all bat each other off." I'm glad i live in the Town of Tuggeranong. Might still be in ACT but there is a gap and hills between south Canberra and Tuggeranong.
