thats because we have to drive our cars in Canberra because public transport is the epitome of the Canberra government. what do you expect from voting the labour government in.

Due to a breakdown with another car (my daily driver) the z is off to the side of the workshop for a little while. it shall soon return.

remember bog absorbs moister. just a hint. who ever did my front quaters didnt know and it was all rusting out under it. Had a few car through my workshop like that. but the best was seam welds from where someone cut rust out and welded new sections in and then just painted over the top. (bad welds too) Its good to see a young person getting into it. I hope you have a lot of pacience and a lot of time and money. although work is a good substitute to money. Tell your mate the pannel beater he is a good man for helping you out with this. some just dont seem to care to help. (unless they get paid). anything you need you can pm me. and im sure we can try to help each other as im in the same prosess.

Things Have been put on hold to get my daily driver back on the road as a daily before i get my licence back that i lost.

Angelus comes out of hidding. hi all i cort the bus in got to the corner of the cop shop. 5 cops ran out grabed me and took me into custody. questioned me for hours about being a terorist and then let me go when they decided i was more australian then them all put together and more intelagent. lol nah i waz at work. couldnt get the day off seen as the new guy at work that started on monday quit on wednesday. so the boss revoked my weekend and my day off for the meet. next time we should all meet at a pub instead of a cop shop. im to scared to go near it lol. so once again im sorry for not making it. it looked like it was good though

oh and if fadden is close to tharwa then im closer but his aint white. i think his is in pritty much the same as mine headless and on a stand. i dont know what i do as of yet but seen as im not driving then perhaps we can do anything. hmm a few beers

nah my cars engine is sitting on a stand headless. 2 heads on the bench not far away

I Have had this problem. I used an oxy to heat up the bolt and then they turn out but you need to be pacient and turn it out turn it in, turn it out and in for a few times because you should have rust right up the bolt. With the ones that are broken off. Use some sort of jack or hydrolic lift to move the head up evenly. You can damage the head more by twisting it or lifting it unevenly. My first time I did it I used a bottle jack on one side move it a tiny amount, release the pressure. Apply spacers on the other side. Jack it a little more. Dont do to much though because you are going to extrude the aliminium head and it will make a lip around the hole and this isnt good. Lubricants or hydrolic oils are good to use. Find out where the bolt has broken off though because they step down part way down the bolt and this can cause damage when taking the head off. If needed drill a little. Then heat the bolts up and use multy grips to turn them out while still hot.

i seem to have been judged a problem. i have no licence till 22nd august. might still be able to meet you all though. i just might have a different set of wheels lol.

hmm funny how you find others who have already done this after you do something. well at least i know it works. lol

I use to own a sII ventura bluebird of the year 84. my parents put 300000km on that car without fail. and then i got my l's and it was given to me (after my sisters) around about 400000km by then. still went well just started to have carby and dizy problems. fixed that and turbo went on. that car was great and stupid 6 12" subs in the back and a few component speakers. but faded paint lol. the box took it all. burnout drags the lot from a p plater. alot of people turned their heads because of it. engine died and when we pulled it appart couldnt find any problems with it except compression. original pistons (shaved for lower compression). anyone tells you nissan doesnt make good cars tell them to talk to me. but i have a secont box and im slapping it in the 280z. and seeing what else fits as well.

Anyone know how the box out of the bluebirds holds up. i know it bolts up. i just tried it. a mate here in canberra who works for nissan and has a 240 a 260, 2 fairladys and a few others said they are fine. anyone else

Funny im putting a bluebird gearbox in my 280z. interesting hmm

Evening all. Todays experiment started with the removal of the l28 from the car. Gearbox was removed and an experiment was placed into action. A few years back I took on my parents old bluebird. It had done 300000km and was starting to play up. We strapped a turbo to it and started to have fun. After some time we decided to pull the engine out and swap it. So we did the end result was a twisted chassis. Knowing well what we put this car through I pulled out the gearbox i got before the engine died. It has been sitting on a shelf for a couple of years and I almost used it a few times for stupid things. Wonder got to me though and so after pulling the engine out I went and scrumaged through some of the stuff in my workshop and pulled the gearbox out. Carried it over and mated it to the back of the l28. it seems to be a perfect fit. the next step it to get under the car and find out how well it all bolts up but so far it is looking good and with many of these boxes in wreckers who cant find anyone to give them too we may have an easy prospect on our hands. The real test will be an l28set pushing power through it and seeing how it stands up. Tomorrow if I get the chance I will also see how well the box mounts under the dash. Perhaps there is a good use for bluebirds. More to come when I get the time.

This is what happens to your guard when someone tries to nick your mag and you drive down the road without knowing. If Anyone knows what these mags are or has 2 that they dont need i wouldnt mind another 2 or 4.

Yeah me and nizmOzed both work at autobarn with nath. I also run a little mechanical engineering shop on the side. nothing big just some auto parts and stuff. I Have heard stuff about your car and would love to see it.
